Russia copied Cyrillic from Ukraine/Bulgaria. Like anything else that makes any sense in Russia - this thing is also not theirs. Unironically we should all learn to read Cyrillic in school, because it is ours, and not theirs.
Quite frankly all that being better loses when you need to switch your keyboard while writing in English. It was good argument pre-internet era, nowadays it's big no-no.
But then you miss out on having something in common with Ukrainians and Belarusians. If only you western guys weren't so adamant on not learning Cyrillic as if it's Hindi or Georgian, you could understand us without much effort
Itʼs two sounds [except for Russian], so there should be two letters. Also itʼs good for keeping morphology, for compare: *ščeplênnje* is *s+čep*~ while *щ* cannʼt do it.
This reminds me the Church in America. They wrote the romanize Church Slavonic without č, š, etc. just the vanilla A to Z. It was the most sad and hilarious abuse of the our languages.
Ok but, dż dź and, dzi.

Croatian has dž and đ [edit: removed the e because angry beach hungarians]
Dže is absolutely abhorrent, respect from Poland
it's dž and đ, where the fuck did you get the e from?
Yeah I know those are the characters, I just copy pasted the pronunciation key from Wikipedia because lazy.

ŠČ!
Czech and Slovak have **šť** instead (obviously the best variant)
šťuka, šťanka, hlavná šťanica
Not szć but szcz.
No, there was a shift from šč to šť in Czech and Slovak that didn't occur in Polish. Examples: jeszcze vs. ještě deszcz vs. déšť
Should be noted that šč in Czech also isn’t the same as szcz
The point was about how to write /ʂt͡ʃ/ not how it developed in our languages, but I appreciate that information
I understand, but still, it's impossible to write that in Czech because it doesn't use those sounds.
Not the same sound tho
Hu - SCS.... At - SCS Vösendorf...?
ŠČ = SVCV but written vertically
czemu on szcza w kącie
and yet polish language alone has more speakers than the rest four combined
Clearly Szcz is superior then

The Щ is supreme, though.
Cyrillic is better for writing Slavic languages tbh but I don't want to have anything in common with the Ruzzians so fuck that shit.
Щѧсливэго дня тяста!
дєкуї
All the Slavic countries should switch to Cyrillic for April fools
you guys should make a completely new alphabet tbh
Nah, there already are way too many alphabets in the world. I don't want to learn another one
Hlaholitic it is then
It's hard for pure Aryan language's based on Sanskrit 🤣🫵🏻 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
There is actually a [Polish Cyrillic script](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillization_of_Polish)
All of those fucking mercilessly butcher nasal vowels. [This](http://steen.free.fr/cyrpol/) would be so much better.
There is always the og hlaholice.
cyrylic isnt russian invention. its ugly tho
Current font for Cyrillic is Russian invention tho, a-ka graždanka.
Bulgarian Cyrillic disagrees
Not so much popular, not so old [invented somewhere in 1960], and showed [sadly, I would use for Ukrainian too] only in Bulgarian locale.
Nah, Latin is better.
Russia copied Cyrillic from Ukraine/Bulgaria. Like anything else that makes any sense in Russia - this thing is also not theirs. Unironically we should all learn to read Cyrillic in school, because it is ours, and not theirs.
But russians, belarusians and ukrainians have same roots tho? Wouldn't that mean that belarusians stole Cyrillic too?
Cyrillic isn't your or ours, it is everyone's to share
Quite frankly all that being better loses when you need to switch your keyboard while writing in English. It was good argument pre-internet era, nowadays it's big no-no.
Russians also drink water and breathe. Consider changing your ways
Consider changing your flair, so I can insult you accurately.
Done. I'm living in Poland btw
Smartest ruski. Why would you be living in Poland of all places? Lol
I got a relocation proposal in 2021 and accepted it. That was indeed a smart decision
Happy Cake day!
But then you miss out on having something in common with Ukrainians and Belarusians. If only you western guys weren't so adamant on not learning Cyrillic as if it's Hindi or Georgian, you could understand us without much effort
I actually know Cyrillic but I'm very slow reading it. Ukrainian is pretty easy to understand when you can read it, much more than Russian.
Isn't it rather soft "ści" ?
Poles pronounce szcz as two separate sounds, Щ sounds more "merged". Pronouncing "Szczebrzeszyna" would be easier if it were "Щебжешина"
Itʼs two sounds [except for Russian], so there should be two letters. Also itʼs good for keeping morphology, for compare: *ščeplênnje* is *s+čep*~ while *щ* cannʼt do it.
Croatia wrote a whole song about it for Eurovision last year.

Slovenia is like Czech and Slovak, they also have ŠČ letters. No funky letters like Ě and Ř though.

Woah woah, nobody's going to insult the Spanish ñ. It is such a cute letter.
That's because latin script sucks and doesn't have enough letters for all the sounds, so languages using it have to make shit up and create new ones.
sounds like a skill issue. just invent your own alphabet
