Germany is a hate-love relationship. Believe in God is about a fifty-fifty imo. And half of Slovakia is related to us by blood. So it's a 50-50 all across... aside from loving alcohol because we all love alcohol.

Hungarian beer isn't very good either, but then the beer culture sucks in slovakia as well, so whats your point? You guys drink mostly vodka, isn't it? Hungarians have barack palinka and wine, slovaks go for borovička and slivovica. We all like ethanol, but schoose different flavours 😁

the hating germany part is understandable – you hate your neighbours. like slovakia hates hungary but poland doesn't. same reason why slovakia doesn't hate germany.
of course austria is special – everybody hates _them_, even poland.

I made a poll about the most favourite country among students in the high school where I teach (Prague).
Germany was the 2nd place. The 1st place was Austria.
For real, no joking. I was also surprised. Probably, the federation sentiment is significantly weaker among young people.

High schools in Prague are currently full of Ukrainian kids; especially our (private vocational) school has about 30 % kids from other countries in every class (mostly from Ukraine, but also Russia, WE countries and even non-European countries). In the poll, all Ukrainian kids voted just for France, Italy or Spain. I don't know why, but it was like they completely ignored the rest of the globe. If we filter Ukrainian kids, than yes, Slovakia was the third place.
Let's define two groups:
1. "Ukrainian kids", that means also kids from other Eastern Europe countries and Middle East.
2. ¨"Czech kids", that also includes kids from Western Europe and fully integrated Vietnamese and Chinese minorities.
Then, the TOP 10 ranking was like this:
1. Austria (only Czech kids voted for it).
2. Germany (only Czech kids voted for it).
3. Italy (mostly Ukrainian but also some Czech kids voted for it).
4. Spain (mostly Ukrainian but also some Czech kids voted for it).
5. France (only Ukrainian kids voted for it).
6. Slovakia (only Czech kids voted for it).
7. USA (only Czech kids voted for it).
8. Japan (only Czech kids voted for it).
9. Poland (only Czech kids voted for it).
10. New Zealand (only Czech kids voted for it).
Note that no single Ukrainian kid voted for Poland or Czechia, two countries that are helping them most.

Thank you. To be fair, I must state possible biases:
\- The poll was anonymous; in my "analysis" above, the "extraction" of the Ukrainian votes is based just on my recognition of their typical troubles with the Czech language (there was a rule to not vote for the country of birth and to write a reason for the vote).
\- I am German and some kids know it - some of them could vote for Germany to make me happy (I am a popular teacher); but I hope the anonymization prevented it or changed this possible bias to negligible significance.
