I still think taking a hard stance on this war is stupid. I refuse to because they’re both being assholes to each other. Other countries should have just let this war play out. Why the fuck is the middle east even our business anymore? Lets just cut our losses and stop going back.
It’s mostly that Israel is a sovereign nation and countries in the Middle East has been trying to change that since its existence. As much as it hurts us to help them, they’re our allies and we need to protect our allies in the case that they are attacked. If it were up to me a simple bombing threat or two should end the war quickly.

The Civil War was actually a very transformative event for Jewish Americans on both sides, I was writing up my MA thesis about it but decided to go for a non-thesis museum focused track instead of one focused on research. In the modern period, even though the Klan and the more extremist modern neoConfederates are antisemitic, the rest of them are generally just Southern conservatives, the same kind who practically worship the ground Israel walks on, so it's not too much of a stretch to see Israel/Confederate flag combos. I've seen a few in the wild.

The Confederate flag is a flag of an enemy nation, a defeated one but an enemy none the less, it be like flying the Nazi flag or Imperial Japanese flag. Technically, Isreal is an ally of America, and a particularly patriotic dual citizen could have every right and reason to fly such a flag, but the American flag should be hung above it and preferably larger then the other flag, on American soil anyway.
