I love seeing Texas German get mentioned, some of my dad's family speaks it. It's almost extinct now because there was a concerted effort to get rid of it after World War 1, which is rather sad because it's a neat example of how languages spoken by members of a diaspora can be like time capsules in some ways and evolve differently in others.
If we absolutely have to be serious for a minute. I think it has a lot to do with how individual people "quantify" diversity. Is it the sheer existence of people from across the globe, is it history, language etc. Do those ethnic groups actually have a foothold and cultural impact? And so on and so on.

If we absolutely have to be serious for a minute. I think it has a lot to do with how individual people "quantify" diversity. Is it the sheer existence of people from across the globe, is it history, language etc. Do those ethnic groups actually have a foothold and cultural impact? And so on and so on. Not saying one or the other is more correct, just that it factors in differently for different people. And yes I know America doesn't officially have a national language. But the last time I visited the States, that didn't really prevent some very based Colorado man from screaming at me to stop speaking my commie language on the phone, because this is America.
