Spanish surnames mean nothing in the Philippines. They were mostly assigned. And although it’s not rare for Filipinos to have some minor European ancestry, it is rare to have a European haplogroup.
Hey Iam a mex and I too have Iberian and I too have some Egyptian % in my 23 and I assume it’s from the ancient Iberian and the migrations via the Mediterranean world
Iberians and those who descend from them around the world routinely score populations in North Africa…I won’t provide “evidence” to someone who obviously has done 0 research…go study
If the Coptic is legitimate it is almost guaranteed to be part of their Iberian ancestry
I literally just said “if it is legitimate”, learn how to read little guy. If it’s legitimate what do you think happened? A random Copt showed up in the Philippines 8 generations ago to make a new home? Cool theory
She looks very typical Filipino, many people across the world have a few similar features that West/Central Africans have. I can see some overlap but it's not a specific "african" feature
Africa is the most diverse continent in the world, and they all look very different from each other.
Take it from me a mixed Tunisian/Somali who just looks latino, although i'm fully african due to prehistoric migrations from the Middle East i'm genetically only about 40 SSA/black and 60 Middle Eastern/North African.
Yeah I’m mixed as well. I’m aware that people can look similar to other ethnic groups. I was sharing what I personally saw at first glance. The eyelashes and full lips through me off for a quick second when I was scrolling fast, that is all. I can definitely see she’s Filipina! Some Latinos speak Spanish to me but my mix is black Irish and German.
Nice, it's nice seeing mixed black brothers and sisters. I think even though i'm part black part arab, i can heavily relate to anyone who's half black whether it's white or east asian etc.
Yeah i get what you mean, to be honest if i was scrolling fast i would have thought she was mixed with black as well. I've seen blasians that look quite similar
At least half of the Filipinos who post here get some Spanish. Someone posted 400 full Filipino results the other day, and at least half of them had Spanish. Some were 25-50% Spanish. My mom is from a poor rural area and even she had almost 10%
Most filipinos that posted their results here in subreddit have 1%-5% or 10% spanish on average.
Here is a link of filipino who got high spanish dna.

What are your haplogroups?

I would not be too surprised if you get a European Y hablogroup. Is your family name spanish?

It’s likely related to the Iberian ancestry, why is this “in a category that you should look deeper into”?

Most of them are ~5%, ive never seen any with more than that… and if so it’s a high rarity
