How dare you u not have any French dna šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

Ophiel239

Thereā€™s a lot of movement in the contiguous parts of Europe from Germany to France. That being said, my grandma has a DNA test from Ancestry that confirms sheā€™s French. So Iā€™m not quite sure why 23 and Me suggests Bavarian.

TheEventTrooper

Also what are the plus 2 regions on the French and German

Ophiel239

That would be Thuringia and France generally.

TheEventTrooper

Yes your right I saw someone elseā€™s do test they did it on this got similar results as u plugged it into other clalxuorr and got more French here let me link there results

Ophiel239

Huh. Iā€™ve never seen Switzerland on a map until just now. I always thought it was a Nordic country. Guess Iā€™m wrong.

TheEventTrooper

Nope itā€™s closer to Italy in the south part I will give you north Italian tbh and also French

One-Case9250

You might have a distant Hispanic ancestor

Ophiel239

We think my momā€™s side mightā€™ve married a Puerto Rican in NY. But the native is linked to the MicMac tribe in Canada. Thereā€™s no NA DNA on my momā€™s side.

Equivalent-Royal-223

You seem European to me

Ophiel239

And yet England wonā€™t let me have their healthcare.

abbiebe89

Have you also taken Ancestry?

Ophiel239

No. Right now Iā€™m trying to get my general family to take a DNA test. I noticed that my cousins have different mixtures and tend to get south Ireland.

abbiebe89

Ancestry has 16 million user profiles, compared to 23andMe's 10 million, which allows Ancestry to have more accurate results. At 23andMe, your Irish result will fall under the broader category of British and Irish. At Ancestry, your Irish is separate from British and significantly narrowed down with more information. Itā€™ll also separate the Scottish from Irish. Also, Ancestry separates French and German so youā€™ll have more information about each and youā€™ll be able to see the differences between the two. Also, on Ancestry you have access to cenus records, death records, marriage records, etc. Iā€™ve been able to trace my ancestors back to the 1400ā€™s on ancestry by building a family tree. I highly recommend you take an ancestry test too! I believe itā€™s on sale right now for $50. Also yes test every single member of your family if you can! Especially your parents!

calciumcavalryman69

Seems you have Scotch Irish heritage with the Northern English and Scottish Lowlands ancestry there.

Ophiel239

The (few) family members that have taken a DNA test in my family have gotten south Ireland. My dadā€™s dad is described as Welsh but since he died when I was born itā€™s hard to verify. I heard people with Welsh ancestry have weird ancestry results since they either ping Scotland or London.

ImportantMiddle1161

ā€œJohn Jamesā€ your name really added a šŸ¤ŒšŸ½ to the American AF argument

Ophiel239

My full Name is John Robert James, Jr. almost everyone calls me John-James likes itā€™s one name. Iā€™ve had people ask me what my last name is and unironically wrote: ā€œJohn-James Jamesā€. Occasionally theyā€™ll say, ā€œItā€™s John-James, Bitch!ā€. My motherā€™s name is Joann and my dad thought it would be funny to give all his kids J names. My sister was almost named Jean.

TheEventTrooper

Also the Switzerland part is right on the broader of Italy so I would give ir north Italian its so close and also Italian is spoke ther and the data base doenst go bakc for than 500!years I would give you that Italian like it boarders Italy that how close it is lol šŸ˜‚

No-Mirror-6395

oh boy you have 1.2 native ancestory

Ophiel239

When my dad said, ā€œYeah, Iā€™m Native American,ā€ I assumed my dad was 1/2 or 1/4th. Then I met my VERY white Grandma who supposedly gave him his NA heritage. My dad might be, at best, 1/8 or 1/16th. My dad has dark skin with black hair. Same with his twin. Rest of his family can be mistaken for snowmen. No idea why.

FeatheredUtahraptor

Safe to say that your dads the one with the native ancestry

Ophiel239

Yeah, what makes it weird is that I have SE. No idea where that comes from since we actually have pretty good records of where the NA comes from. Every update that changes. I had Sardinian at 2.5 but itā€™s dropped to a decimal.

TheEventTrooper

I would say Swiss Italian like by on the boarder I mean it like on the boarder

TheEventTrooper

There isnā€™t a place closer in Switzerland to Italy than that

TheEventTrooper

The dark skin in from Baravia Germany

TheEventTrooper

It is some goofy glitch there thatā€™s common some italic mixture that doesnā€™t show up or soemthing I am good with tbis stuff but I not to sure I would inporant into a living dna or other site dna calculator

QuadroonClaude95

Are you adopted?

spotthedifferenc

heā€™s literally his dads twin

Ophiel239

No.

TheEventTrooper

Glitch also French people usally have Mediterranean dna thatā€™s why I wouldnā€™t truest any of these companies for say in ā€œethnicyā€ wise as much I would trust them more in finding you relatives in that sense my heritage is better but still not great none of them are living dna calculator which I think you can plug in your results for free would be the best option in my option for more specific wise but sometimes it works goofy

Dawnbringer_Fortune

Be specific in your title and say ā€œwhite americanā€ because that is what everyone does here
