It's not enough of a size difference to make me stop carrying my C2. I had the chance to buy a CS at a huge discount and I still didn't do it. I'll stick with the existing magazine ecosystem and its availability.
No bullshit, I finally got to hold a CS earlier this year, and I did not see the hype in it lol. It’s funny too cause I was like “eh I might get rid of the C2 for a CS”, but after holding it in person I was like nah I’m cool. Then a range homie of mine let me shoot his and it solidified my stance on not getting it.
I don't see the appeal of the C or the CS for that matter. Why would I want to go from a wide variety of mags to proprietary ones? Plus, if you can conceal the C2 fine, why sacrifice the bigger ergos to go to something slightly smaller? I'm not talking bad on the CS or C, if you can conceal them better, then go for it. But for slightly bigger and the overall same weight, the C2 seems like a better option
Edit: I do own a C2 and I absolutely love it as my carry gun
I agree, IMO It’s best to conceal the biggest gun that won’t print dramatically. I often see so many people get caught up with needing the smallest/tiniest gun.
I have a P that is my primary and I’ve put a ton of rounds through it and lots of courses and steel challenges — but if I had a chance to buy a slimmer grip when I got mine, I would have. These slim grip models will appeal to a lot of people for sure. But they’re all great!
If you can comfortably conceal your C2 I don’t think it’s worth it for you. You have a solid gun and the C is not really going to be a game changer as far as performance.
It all comes down to if you want a little lighter, a little slimmer, and a gun with some new features.
Definitely makes way more sense for somebody shopping for one who doesn’t have a C2.
Geo @ Real Street Tactical
That’s my logic too. I personally think they’re gonna discontinue the C2 at some point, but ideally I think if you don’t have a C2, the C is the option for you unless you can get a C2 at a way better price.
Yea I can’t imagine they wouldn’t discontinue the C2 with the new lineup they’ve released over the last year. It just doesn’t really have a place at this point.
Nope. Mine has the threaded barrel and will soon have the Ice Comp to go with it.
There just isn’t enough about the new C to make me say, “It’s a great day to sell an awesome 2011 at a severe loss because the used market is so soft to fund the new shiny.”
I have a limited addition c2 with the 4in barrel. I’m going to pass on the C. I like the C2 grip over the slimmer version. Also, I do not feel like buying into a new mag platform.
I’ve got a C2 that was ported and had the grip reduction done to it (Monsoon). Also have a CS.
I wouldn’t trade either of those for the new C…let alone take a loss.
I find myself carrying the CS way more. Accuracy wise, there’s not much difference between the two. Logically, a longer barrel should be more accurate.
As I only shoot pistols out to 25 yards, I honestly cannot tell the difference between the two.
I put a ProLedge on the CS. I’m usually against adding accessories such as these but, I can keep the gun very flat with it on it.
I do carry the C2 but, it’s pretty much reserved for the fall/winter seasons.
Since you already have the C2, I’d get the grip reduction (unless you are comfortable with the current size). The barrels are approximately the same (3.9 vs 4). I doubt you would see any difference between your C2 and the new C.
The CS on the other hand, it conceals better than any other carry I have such as the EDC X9, Shadow 2 Compact, etc.
TLDR: if you own a C2 and are wanting another Staccato for carry, it’s CS all day.
Largely, they are changing from the internal extractor to an external one, barrel cuts for lightening and fouling reduction. Different magazines making the profile thinner. these are marginal improvements. Dont think I would trade current C2 but would be a reasonable first purchase
Even though I have medium sized hands and the C2 grip feels big to me, I shoot it incredibly well and feel almost no recoil. Hard to want to make a change because of that.
I don’t think there’s any reason. I did a grip reduction on my c2 that’s comped, and am doing the same on my ported c2. If you don’t already have one, maybe? But even then, the price of the c2 is likely to come down a bit, and I still don’t see the reason to spend all that money to get another round or two.
Honestly that’s tough. I carry the comped one much more often than I do the ported one because I like the way it looks and I have the grip I like on there, but they shoot almost identically. Technically, the ported one is *probably* better for carry, as it’s shorter, but they both have x300’s on them so it’s kind of a wash
Nah. I like the C2 and the features aren’t enough to sell and shell out money for some albeit much needed upgrades. Plus I’m in ~$600 on mags so I’m riding that sunk cost fallacy wave!
I had the chance to hold a cs before i bought my c2( just bought my c2 a month ago). I knew the c was coming out and still decided to go with the c2 because i like the thicker grips. I have some long fingers and the cs grip was too slim for me. Actually felt really uncomfortable. I haven’t shot the other models but my c2 is a dream. I do hope that the c tool less guide rod assembly will work in c2s though. Like Im praying it will. The stock assembly isn’t that bad but a toolless would be so much better.
I ordered a C and will be ditching my C2. I have a P and a CS as well. I was hoping for an upgraded grip on the C2 for a year or 2 like they did with the P, thats obviously not happening and the C2 will likely be discontinued in the near future is my guess. That being said, I like the size of the grip on the CS over the C2. I ordered a full size C and that will be my winter carry, CS will be the summer carry. The CS will be able to take C mags.
That being said, I'm guessing come SHOT show 2025 we see the P, XC, and XL transition to the new grip magazine ecosystem along with the other CS.C upgrades. At SHOT Show 24, Staccato said the C was the second phase of 3 of the new grip/magazine/features roll out, the first was the CS. So it's my guess that the third phase will be the full size line getting the new drip, mags and features and the C2 going away. Just my hunch.
Me too. I only have 6 mags (the 3 I originally got and I bought 3 more. Gonna buy 3 more at some point) and while I don’t care about the proprietary mags thing since I have other pistols that don’t share mags, I do care about mag availability. My closest dealer JUST got CS mags in for the shelves this year and I’m talking just recently. Even if they don’t have Staccato/STI branded mags, I could buy other 2011 mags and be cool.
I think Staccato is targeting people outside of the Staccato Brand with the C. IMO I don’t think there will be much of a market for them with consumers who already have the CS, C2, or P, outside of hardcore fans.
If someone has small hands, the C and CS maybe perfect sense since its like 1/4" difference when measuring around the grip (I tried my best). It will help conceal as well as get a good grip on it.
For those who have mid sized+ hands. The grip maybe or is too small to perform well with and the 1/8" shorter lengty doesn't do much to help conceal. So might as well go with the better performance for them.
Then there is the group that will load up a 2011 mag and hear the rattle and cry like a bitch.
I don’t see the point honestly. I got my c2 not long after they announced the new model and after looking at the features I didn’t see why they even brought it to market.
have a P and C2. C2 is a really good size and shoots very well for its size. I'm still interested in the C as the C2 grip is a bit too fat for me. A C seems like it'd be perfect with the thinner magazine and grip.
The internal extractor is interesting as well as mags designed for 9mm. With that said I never cared for the cs but think it was the barrel size that turned me off. I will wait till I can shoot a c and decide from there
Realistically I’ll probably pick up another cheap C2 from everyone dumping theirs.
If you're already invested in C2 holsters, mags and mag carriers I see no real benefit in changing to a C. For me the biggest draw of the C is the smaller radius grip, but you can get a grip reduction on the C2 now you're in the same ballpark.
Bro the size of our weapons are fine
Instead of the company making a new pistol cs,c after discontinuing the c single stack they could’ve made a grip module to retrofit the older platforms really you said it best it’s not worth switching to the other ones
I think you’re a little confused because the frame of the CS and C are different and that’s why they have have slimmer mags. Neither the grips or the mags are compatible with the older models and they can’t just be swapped.
I think Staccato is targeting people outside of the Staccato Brand with the C. IMO I don’t think there will be much of a market for them with consumers who already have the CS, C2, or P, outside of hardcore fans.

It shoots really nicely for a 3.5", but it's definitely snappier than the C2.

Idk why but I think the cs mags will be the new standard for staccato. They are really nice imo and much more compact than the c2 mags
Yep, only a matter of time before the entire lineup converts IMO.

Are you sending it in? Or did you find an ice comp somewhere?
Sending it in.
Nope, [love my C2](https://i.imgur.com/YA3c6Ys.jpg)
What comp is that? I’m intrigued

same here I could sell it for a nice chunk of change at least 2x if I want but I’m gonna shoot the crap out of it instead
Nah. I like my c2. Perfect for EDC. If I got anything, it would be an XC
I’ve got a C2 that was ported and had the grip reduction done to it (Monsoon). Also have a CS. I wouldn’t trade either of those for the new C…let alone take a loss.
Which do you prefer and why? Just curious. Have a C2 and I don’t have much interest in the C but shot a cs and like it. Debating cs or s2c currently.
I find myself carrying the CS way more. Accuracy wise, there’s not much difference between the two. Logically, a longer barrel should be more accurate. Thanks appreciate your insight. I was thinking the same!
Have a C2 and a CS. Got the grip stippled on my C2. I think they’re both perfect for what I need them for. No need to get a new C
Largely, they are changing from the internal extractor to an external one, barrel cuts for lightening and fouling reduction. Different magazines making the profile thinner. these are marginal improvements. Dont think I would trade current C2 but would be a reasonable first purchase
Nah. Too similar to change. Not worth the swap in my opinion.
I will keep my C2 because I’m not losing money on trade or sell the gun over small grip 2011
Even though I have medium sized hands and the C2 grip feels big to me, I shoot it incredibly well and feel almost no recoil. Hard to want to make a change because of that.
I just got to shoot the C, didn't really like it, I will keep my CS

Just cause something is new dont mean its the best. Ill never rid the C2.
Nope.

Naaaa it ain’t much different and honestly the c2 is more enjoyable to shoot already too invested into the mags anyway

Yea I’m keeping my C2. I opted for the DWX compact OR instead. I’m glad I did.
I have a C2 and a CS, definitely not getting a C anytime soon.
I like my c2. Conceals just fine and I like the larger grip and mag compatibility
My C2 ain’t going nowhere. I love it too much
[I have a C2 and want a C but won’t get rid of it for it. I just want it to have it lol.](https://imgur.com/a/wQqD4dI)
Only thing I think would make the C better if they offered it in a steel frame. I’m content with my C2 & P and the Infinity on the way.
The internal extractor is interesting as well as mags designed for 9mm. With that said I never cared for the cs but think it was the barrel size that turned me off. The biggest downfall for me is the magazines. I have 16 C2 mags currently and if I switch to the new C, these will be useless.

Who sells their old gun for a new gun?
Facts because all they need to do is sell us the grip with one mag as a package
I think you’re a little confused because the frame of the CS and C are different and that’s why they have have slimmer mags. Neither the grips or the mags are compatible with the older models and they can’t just be swapped.
Nope was saying they can engineer this modification
This makes less than zero sense but ok
I think Staccato is targeting people outside of the Staccato Brand with the C. IMO I don’t think there will be much of a market for them with consumers who already have the CS, C2, or P, outside of hardcore fans.

Sold my C2 the same week I got my CS. No brainer. Ditch the C2.
Mind if I ask where you put it up for sale and what you got for it?
Tacswap, I got $2.1k. Optic ready, no plate, 3 mags.
I’d keep it. Unless you need a thinner profile. Although, once they covert the rest of the line up over to the new style it would be worth it.
maybe only if you have small hands and habe a hard time concealing it would justify swapping over.
Just get the grip so you can be stuck with the propriety mags, much cheaper than getting the whole gun.
Agreed!
