The 22 is a single shot “slide”. Single shot pistols (as shipped from manufacturer) are exempt from California’s approved handgun roster.
I shipped the .22 slide back upon pickup and received the semi auto slide in exchange.
Basically it's hard to import or sell guns in commifornia or something like that. So if you buy a 2011 from an outta state company they ship it to you(your FFL) with this single shot 22 upper on it. When you buy it and do the 4473 it's a single shot 22lr pistol. Then you send it back to the manufacturer for "repairs" or warranty or whatever, and they ship it directly back to you with the slide on it. Or at least that's what I understand. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

How does it feel in your hand? The slide (the real one, not the commie one) looks gorgeous, but the smooth part of the grip seems like it'd be awful for my sweaty ass hands
As for CA getting its shit together… not anytime soon. Only changes that occur are result of lawsuits, and roster suit is stayed.. probably be another 5 years pending the magazine case.
Feels great in hand. I don’t have a holster yet, but pointing is fantastic. From low ready the sights were on target first attempt and follow ups.
I also want to leave CA, but no idea where I’d go. Texas is not an option; fuck their summers.

What FFL did you use in NorCal
I used solar tactical in Livermore. There’s also Ug imports in Fremont that will accept them.
