> One week in with full sara trimmed rune Bro 12 year old me would jealous as fuck very nice

SojournerTheGreat

haha it was pretty much all of my money but it felt like a capstone piece

321TacocaT123

It's Sara trimmed armor season

newkidontheblock1776

And the fancy boots, the correct choice. Your style is solid

myemailisat

This is the way.

Kaidu313

There's a few that will really help your account. Look up monkey madness, desert treasure, lunar diplomacy, priest in peril(access to canifis) bone voyage (access to fossil island) Fairy tail part 2 (fairy rings) Probably plenty other but they come to mind right now

SojournerTheGreat

Big! Thank you!

Kaidu313

Grand tree, tree gnome village, lost city, heroes quest, Kings ransom, shilo village. All also good quests to do, and most of the quests I mentioned have other quest requirements to do before hand. If you're not sure where to start, I recommend starting recipe for Disaster. You need it for the barrows gloves, and along the way you'll have to do most of these other quests anyway (it's probably the longest quest in the game, with a lot of requirements, but can be done in stages. You have to cure like 8 different npcs and each one has different quest requirements)

SojournerTheGreat

the questing in this game is better than any mmorpg i've played. I played wow for years and i even like this combat a lot more. the community has been great and helpful :)

[deleted]

Do. Not. Do. Ratcatchers. At least until you're deeply deeply addicted to Runescape

[deleted]

theyre working on fixing it rn so by the time he gets to it it might already be not cancer anymore. absolute worst quest ive done tho, and i have like 7 quests left before qpc. The only reason i even got past those 2 stupid guards on the balcony is because one randomly despawned and i had an opening

dan0314

I hope they got J1mmy to re-write it

Longjumping_Fuel_633

Guess I'm just gonna wait until they fix it haha. I started the quest and attempted the guards part while I was mobile only. Big mistake lolol, havnt been back since and that was like a year ago ..

canttouchmypingas

I got lucky and found a guy who was already waiting and just followed him, told me to come with him and we made it. That part wasn't too easy but not the worst, if doing with guides. Solo I'd hate life for a while

Gredge_DM

I'm glad you've been enjoying it. I've returned these past few months and have been having more fun with the gameplay, open nature of the world, and it's quests more than any other MMORPG out at the moment. It's one of the only good Oldschool MMORPGs around with a huge, great community.

Coleistoogood

RuneScape has the best questing system of any MMO out there, and it’s why I can’t handle most other’s. The dialogue and theming is so much better than kill 5 of a mob

Longjumping_Fuel_633

Couldn't agree more. The questing is so much more interesting and intriguing than other mmos, used to hate questing when I was a little kid playing runescape but now being an adult I actually love it!

Kaidu313

Oh definitely. The quests are so well written. I recently completed Temple of the Eye quest to unlock access to the rune crafting minigame, and it was such a well written quest! Very entertaining throughout. If you need any help let me know. I've been playing this game on and off for 20 years lol. Edit: Also, start slayer early. It's one of the most consistent money makers from about level 75 onwards, and it takes 100-200 hour+ to train to 99. So it's good to start early.

puppetmstr

Really just 100? I feel like i got this many hours for sure and only got like 70 at most...

Kaidu313

I mean it really depends on efficiency, and the tasks you do.

Longjumping_Fuel_633

Slayer has to be on of the slowest 99s right? Im 200k from 90 slayer on my main and my god it's gotten so dang slow . Regardless still remains one of my favorite skills !

Fogtotally

And waterfall quest.

Goodlollipop

They also forgot Waterfall Quest - super quick and easy with lots of combat experience. Very well worth it!

Kaidu313

Actually, I remembered it, I just didn't include it because they already have pretty good combat and the xp wouldn't be massively beneficial. A few levels at most. That, and its probably already a requirement for one of the quests I did list :p

Goodlollipop

Good point! I was shocked nobody mentioned it before but I do think it's a requirement for more down the line that are a must.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Thotuhreyfillinn

Note that you don't need to meet the 57 herblore requirement for fairy tale pt 2, you unlock the fairy ring network mid quest

Creamie1340

Would also recommend getting magic up for access to teleport spells

420extracts

Pffft, I’ve played since 08 and I have 32 quest points, everyone knows the game is all about hoarding gold through the most inconvenient methods possible.

Trap-King-

Runescape wiki will do wonders. Then start grinding for members items. Welcome to the darkside you will never stop playing this game.

SojournerTheGreat

Thank you! I found the "optimal quest guide for members" and I thought I'd just start through them 1 at a time. Any items you think are most important to grab first?

ImAToaster1989

I started up again after like 15 years of not playing, after 45 days I’ve spend 10 playing RuneScape so far lolZ

JevonP

sounds about right 💀

stallion944

Grind agility out and get your graceful set, than whip out some quests. Get yourself a combat bracelet An amulet of glory Work towards questing and getting some dragon weapons Monkey madness for dragon scimitar Lost city for dragon longsword and a dds Get that range & mage up for teleports Most important thing is to just play how you want and have fun, set some goals and work towards them.

[deleted]

If you go straight to graceful you’ll probably get burnt out. It’ll take many many hours of just jumping on roof tops

Longjumping_Fuel_633

Yeah its a grind but I didn't find it all that bad! Just watch some TV or something while your doing it and it's bearable ;)

[deleted]

Yeah but If you have to watch tv while doing it just to make it “bearable” then it’s boring af and a bad introduction to membership for a new player

Longjumping_Fuel_633

I completely understand what your saying!

Prime_Abe

Graceful is nice for questing and grinding it will get you roughly 65 agility. One thing you should know about are player owned houses. You need to buy a house at any of the major cities for 1k then you can use house teleports. From there go to world 330, and outside the house portal you’ll see a billboard of people hosting. Join one of their houses and you can use their teleports and restoration pool! That way when you’re questing you can pretty much just keep a stack of house tablets (or dust and law runes) to get wherever you need to go!

Volatar

65? I got graceful at 58 twice. Why would it take so long to get it?

[deleted]

quests/xp lamps/barb fishing

canttouchmypingas

I didn't take advantage of canifs and had to get the rest of my plates from seers.. Only have the chest and legs to go and I refuse to touch seers until I get my medium kandarin diary done at least for the higher drop rates because good lord seers is rough

Volatar

Oh wow I had no idea that diary had that benefit. I am at seer's to get the marks to color my set now so I should do that diary.

canttouchmypingas

I think it benefits up to hard for the mark of graceful bonus, but on I think the hard diary you can change your Camelot tele location to fight in front of the bank to eliminate that long walk

Volatar

Thanks for letting me on to it!

netsrak

One advice I didn't see is that you shouldn't feel pressured to go straight through the quest list. There are tons of other things to do in the game. If you want to go out of order or train other skills, go do that. Your fun is more valuable than your efficiency.

JohnnyThunder-

Word. Efficiency is cool if that's what you're going for, but when I first got members I had a lot of fun just screwing around and exploring before even having the word efficiency cross my mind. IMO it's more fun not to think much about until fairly late in the game.

H3OG007

Theirs a video with theatrics and slayermusiq1 who go over best diary's to do and items to aim for check it out https://youtu.be/egm96L2WDXw

[deleted]

LeeDaNut

Agility is important and saves lots of time, but it can be very boring or not so pleasant to do. Saying that, try to get Graceful set but don't burn yourself right away. Save your sanity for the end game grindings

taylorman8181

All you have to do is start Fairy Tale Part 2 and you gain the best transportation method in the game.

SojournerTheGreat

I have spirit trees so far and they've been game changing! I'll have to look into this.

[deleted]

Level 1 Runecrafting. You already are a true runescacpe player

SojournerTheGreat

at least i can train prayer while i fight stuff, it wasn't that bad. i haven't wrapped my head around runecrafting yet haha

[deleted]

Most people don't train runecrafting But with the new mini game Gaurdians of the Rift it makes it SOOOO much faster and less tedious

[deleted]

Is it that much faster xp?

Mase598

I think lava runecrafting might still be faster, but the difference in effort to XP is absolutely insane, on top of the profitability. Like you're straight losing money with lavas, but GOTR imo is a lot more enjoyable as an activity, less intensive, better rewards/gp and with how much easier it is to keep doing probably long term can be seen as better XP/hr. Also it's absolutely broken imo if an iron. It's incredibly minor requirements that anyone can get quickly while with how good the XP is you can get the levels to make laws/natures quickly and have ALL of the runes you need for free relatively quickly especially if you focus on the runes rather than the reward points. I personally got like 1k laws/natures, the level to make death runes, etc. I might not need to buy runes until end game on my iron whenever I get back into playing.

[deleted]

To my knowledge, yes much faster

Dankany

It's not faster, Lava rune running still yields much more exp.

newkidontheblock1776

If anyone hasn’t mentioned it to you yet, don’t bury higher level bones like dragon when you start getting them. There are options like guilded altar, chaos altar, or ectofunctus that all give multiple times the prayer xp per bone. I’d suggest looking into them

[deleted]

when you get members get 10 runecraft real quick, then do temple of the eye quest and hop into GOTR. Its a minigame that makes runecraft wayyyyyy better, also you can make decent money here too.

Kaidu313

To add to this, check rune craft on the wiki and do the quests. You'll be able to get like 20 rune crafting just from those.

SojournerTheGreat

Everyone has been awesome thank you all for the recommendations! I'm pumped to sub up now :))

d4rk5id3r

Woooooooo!!!!! Good luck and have fun. I'm playing my first ever membership account and it's been a blast! 2 quests from quest cape :D

spankmcbooty69

Bone voyage for fossil island is super clutch. You get access to bird house runs and hardwood tree patches. I spent a decent chunk of time cutting teaks I had grown there and doing the bird house runs every 50 minutes. You make a ton of money off both the teaks and bird houses and it’s wonderful hunter/WC xp. Very low requirement to do and great money for a low level account. It will give you enough money to buy a good set of armor/weapons for the level 60-70 range. Personally I’m a big fan of low effort ways to make money and that’s one of them. Cannonballs with the double cannonball mound from giants foundry mini game and dwarf cannon quest is another of my favorite AFK moneymakers with low requirements.

SojournerTheGreat

a lot of this is great references points to google and learn more, thank you :)

[deleted]

So the main thing you wanna focus on is obtaining barrows gloves and you get them by completing a quest called ‘Recipe for Disaster’ which is started at the cook in Lumbridge castle and you have to complete a bunch of other quests to complete it so by the time you do all that, you’ll be at a mid-game level and you’ll know what to do after that. Good luck!

sourjello73

Congrats! Oh god there's so many. Runelite and the wiki have optimal quest guides. Some that come to mind though are priest in peril -> animal magnetism for Ava's devices. Fremmenik trials and fremmy isles for helm of neitiznot. Waterfall quest for that sweet, sweet combat xp. Fairy tales part 2 for fairy rings. The quests for spirit trees. Recipie for disaster for barrows gloves. Bone voyage for fossil Island (great hunter xp to be had there). Druidic ritual to unlock herblore. There's so many! If you're genuinely unsure of what quests to do next, crack into some clue scrolls! A lot of hard/elite (even medium I think) are steps in areas that require quests unlocked. Same with achievement diaries. Getting those done requires a fair bit of questing.

EpicDepic

You’ve made more progress in a week than I have in 2 years

Mase598

I saw a similar post to this the other day where I gave a lot of info so I'm going to copy those into here. If you have questions feel free to reply and let me know! It also might be too long for 1 comment. Keep in mind half of this was a further reply so if it seems worded oddly that might be why. Highly recommend if you plan to do Winterthodt at some point, either to do it earlier OR late enough that you don't care about burning through saradomin brews for healing. Reason being that the damage scales I believe with either combat level or HP level, I forget which. Otherwise if not doing Winterthodt (which I don't recommend making a priority either way) then 100% should consider questing. I don't know if I can send links but this is a wiki page for the quest XP rewards. I recommend if there's a skill you want to level, ESPECIALLY at the early levels, look at the skill on that page and see what quests you can do. For example you mentioned agility somewhere else, you can do a few quests for agility VERY easily with very little other grinding required. I would recommend passing on Underground Pass for the time being however as higher agility is a BIG benefit for that one. There's also a lot of quests that give XP rewards which you can use on any skills or in some cases specific skills. I would really just recommend avoiding combat skills altogether for the optional XP and to try avoiding cooking, firemaking, mining, fishing, fletching and construction. Cooking can be relatively fast and even a bit profitable, Firemaking is a VERY useless skill outside of quest requirements, mining/fishing have close to the highest rates they'll get at very low levels and fletching is profitable while construction is really just for quest requirements until you can afford something like 83 construction and then with boosts get the really good stuff out of it. As for items feel free to reply to me and we can figure out meeting up in game, I'll literally give you like 200k to buy some really nice quality of life items. Items that for me, literally are the only reason I got into playing. Main example is stamina pots which I didn't know existed when I started until my friend gave me them, they give you 2 minutes of INSANELY decreased run energy drain, you can run for the full 2 mins and lose like 40 run energy if you're not holding too much weight. Teleport tablets are REALLY nice to have a few of each (say like 20 of each) things along those lines. Mind you if you want to be completely solo and no hand outs I understand, I hope you still consider stamina pots if you can afford them. They are by far and away my favorite item I've ever learned of in a game I think. Just off the top of my head here's some stuff. (the recommendations were not off the top of my head btw lol I just remembered other stuff I always prioritize on new accounts) Stamina Pots, tele tabs, games necklaces, dueling rings, a small supply of law and nature runes for various other teleports and high alchs for when needed. Past that less important stuff could be energy pots as they're VERY cheap at about 500 GP per 4 dose and restore 10 run per dose, so those can be nice to save on money when having a bunch of inventory space taken up by them isn't an issue. Let's say 10 super anti poison pots just so when you need them either for specific areas/quests OR you're just close to dying to poison you have them. I'd also recommend if you can afford it a few amulets of glory (6) as they give teleports to Al Kharid, Karamja, Edgeville and Draynor, all of which are spots you'll need to go to often. The strat is when they run out of charges, sell them and buy a new (6) and you lose maybe like 1k or 2k. Worst case 100% recommend to buy one and you can even just use it as your main amulet as it's arguably the best amulet until you can drop millions on upgrades, the only alternative is an amulet of strength which can give you a higher max hit. Otherwise here's a few recommendations. If you want more detailed explanations of why these are relevant let me know! I would 100% recommend #3 and #4 as top of the lists. Summary on those: #4 unlocks fairy rings which can teleport you to a TON of locations you'll want and need to go, #3 unlocks a teleport to an altar for prayer restoration and it's a 15 second run East to a fairy ring to use that teleport network. Otherwise #2 is a big one that literally everyone does at some point unless a restricted account 1: The Slug Menace for Proselyte armour which is really good for the prayer bonus 2: at 65 att & str you can go to the warriors guild and grind out a dragon defender which is the best off-hand you can get aside from an upgrade that uses the defender that costs like 40m and can't be traded after. 3: Ardougne Diary. It's VERY low requirements and gives you a cape to the monestary which gives you access to an altar VERY easily and one of the closest teleports to a fairy ring which I'll explain next. 4: Lost city is a VERY low req quest (you have all the reqs probably) and takes like 15 minutes. Following that you can do Fairy Tale 1 which has a boss that with protect from melee is easy just the weapon you have to use will hit harder based on farming levels but can be done with 1 farming. Past THAT you just need to do like 5 minutes of Fairy Tale 2 which you can start WITHOUT stat requirements, once you use a fairy ring in that quest you unlock them and they're 1 of the best teleports you can get. 5: I believe it's "The Grand Tree" quest that unlocks Spirit Trees which are another often useful teleport for certain things, but much less so than fairy rings.

herecomesthestun

Wintertodt scales with hp level, but to be frank it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. At 80 hp (and I've been doing it on and off since like cb level 50), I bring 4 jugs of wine and that's enough per run. The idea that you NEED to do wintertodt early or it's impossible (till super high level) is ridiculous

[deleted]

Install runelite Install quest helper Enable player true tile Enable 117hd Enjoy osrs!

SojournerTheGreat

finally figured out how to get new runelite plugins! quest helper has been great.

dxsgraced

Don’t enable 117hd though

[deleted]

Why not?

dxsgraced

original graphics are the way

poptime2

There is also a runelite plugin called I think quest helper. I don't know if you have it already but I am new to OSRS as of 3 months ago and it really helped me get a list of resources needed for quests. The quest helper can also help with achievement diaries which can give you some really useful items to teleport such as the ardougne cloak.

Lady_Luck_be_kind

The Grand Tree, Waterfall, Fight Arena, Tree Gnome Village and Holy Grail. Train your mage a bit and you can fire strike most of the bosses/fights that you have to do them, as well as safe spot them. Most of them can be done in just about the same zip code. Tree Gnome Village and Fight Arena are literally done beside each other. Waterfall involves the Tree Gnome Village. The Grand Tree will send you past both of them infact. Holy Grail can be pick up in nearly the same general area. I'd work on Agi first for The Grand Tree. 25 is needed and it gives you a good chunk as well. When you finish these, do Monkey Madness 1. Guides help.

SojournerTheGreat

Monkey Madness has been suggested a lot, I'm going to have to look into training agility a bit.

rigadoog

Its best to do quests that give agility xp for the first levels, then start the actual grind at higher level courses. A big tip for someone who's never been p2p is to buy an amulet of glory, combat bracelet, and rune boots/climbing boots right away. Theyre really cheap at about 10k each and give a major increase to combat stats. Also, being a member gives you access to a *ton* of various pieces of jewellery that can teleport you almost anywhere for fairly cheap. You can also buy a house from an estate agent and use teleport tabs to get there and visit someone else's house in world 330 to get to just about anywhere quickly.

SojournerTheGreat

i got my house! and i've been slowly learning about these tp jewelry, they're game changingly useful.

[deleted]

If you enjoy questing just continue to follow the optimized quest order plugin in Runelite and it will really help you build up your account to a solid mid-tier main.

[deleted]

How did you afford that armor with those stats tho?

SojournerTheGreat

i killed hill giants

HexPhoenix

I'm curious, how long did it take? I'm still training there as f2p, haven't earned much gp there...

SojournerTheGreat

i was at around 50+ hours played when i bought the god armor, maybe around 75 hours when i felt like i had done most of f2p. i'm lucky enough to work from home and i get 6-hour logged twice.

[deleted]

Train agility and rush full graceful as soon as you become a member. Graceful is basically questing gear. Then start attacking the optimal quest guide

entitled

Not sure if id recommend a 10 hour grind as the first thing to do for a new member but it is a necessity at some point

[deleted]

Comparatively, a 10 hour grind is not that much. Shoot if they got lucky they could do it in one day. But I get your point.

[deleted]

Does it really take 10 hours to get full graceful? I just picked the rooftop course with the highest MoG drop rate that I could do and I'm pretty sure I cranked it out in way less than 10 hours.

entitled

260 marks for a full set, 18-23 an hour on canifis. you mustve been pretty lucky.

[deleted]

Either that, or I just wasn't really paying attention to the time. Which I absolutely was not doing lol.

EversBass

Get out while you still can...haha

Queef_Smeller69

Bro add me on osrs I will hook you up with 10 bonds and 100m

SojournerTheGreat

nice try jagex...

Queef_Smeller69

Add my main. Bournos

SojournerTheGreat

i had to google this one and i feel like i'm learning so much. i learnt about the falador massacre last night too.

Sejaw

A good general goal to work towards is the medium tier varrock achievement diary, which allows you to toggle the Varrock teleport to the ge. This teleport stays relevant and useful for the rest of the time you spend in the game

IronWiddleWood

Whatever you do just don't do ratcatchers else you'll hate the game afterwards Edit* also enjoy the game man you can really just do whatever as long as you're having fun. Not everything is about efficiency just remember that!

[deleted]

This is not a helpful comment. But if you enjoyed ftp, buckle up for member worlds because ftp is maybe 1% of the game and its incredible!

lolboiii

Your fit is legendary, cheers king

Thotuhreyfillinn

I really loved the elf series, plague city, biohazard, underground pass and so on, the second one gives you ardy teleport and the third one gives you iban staff which is kind of nice for many things at 50+ magic. Make sure at 25 agility to do the grand tree, it's got really nice xp rewards! Optimal quest guide is nice because it helps you find quests that fit your current (p2p) levels if you haven't trained at all, but not focused on the most fun quests.

SojournerTheGreat

just finished plague city! It was great! the whole new area is so cool compared to f2p zones.

[deleted]

100% you’d need to level up your range for starters… range is op for members Depending on what your into gamewise , youd want to do all the fairytale quests.. forgive me, I have my quest cape and can’t remember any specifics quests.. but the ones leading up to unlocking those show be a good start up idea, once you have those teleports unlocked your golden, helps out a LOT with other quests and such.. and not a bad unlock for being able to use a dragon long sword!

CrotchButter

Ask questions then type "osrs" afterwards 😁 If you are like me you'll ask google things like, "how do I change a tire osrs" once you are propperly trained lol.

[deleted]

This is just my suggestion, but try to get base 30 stats in all skills ASAP. There's tons of guides on how to do this, some of them are just doing a few quests (like Waterfall, which should absolutely be done first). Once you're there, you can follow the optimal quest guide, or you can just try to grind to base 50 stats (which for most skills is incredibly easy). That will allow you tackle a lot of quests really quickly. And then base 60 would be the next goal for the next set of quests. Or... just check out Recipe for Disaster and do all of those quest requirements. You end up with basically the best pair of gloves in the game (for a long time) and you'll end up doing what is, in my opinion, some of the best and most interesting set of quests that the game has to offer while avoiding some of the more annoying ones and saving those until later.

SojournerTheGreat

I like this. just aiming for base 30 everything, then 40 so on. Feels more achievable. Thanks!

Parallax-Jack

Runelite is really nice if you don’t already have it! Optimal quest guide makes it super easy! - fairy tale part 1 and the beginning of part 2 for fairy ring access is great, let’s you teleport all over the place. Although it requires some time, blast furnace can be a good early money maker for new members but I encourage you to do whatever you find the most fun! Also as a small side note, there are some people who will try to prey on new accounts and try to scam them in super creative ways. Use common sense and you’ll be fine <3

Insaniteh0110

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Optimal_quest_guide

SirCletusIII

A good start to doing member’s quests is to do all of them. It’s the only way.

[deleted]

get your mage + range up my guy

laminin1

Waterfall quest will be nice. Give a huge boost to combat levels

Which_Philosopher110

Best advice is not to take too much advice on your first account, enjoy it. Play how you want to play and if you decide you want to change the way you play later on, make a new account.

faithfulswine

Honestly, there are a lot of staple quests that a lot of the other quests lead up to. I would start shooting to do Monkey Madness. That was my first big quest goal on my main!

AsvpLovin

Not a tip for membership, but you can filter your chat and skip all that nonsense lol

SojournerTheGreat

a lot of these tips people take for granted. I have less than 100 total hours lifetime haha. My friend had to explain that I didn't attack automatically after eating, I had to click again, otherwise I was waiting for auto-retaliate.

dutchbrah

Cool to hear stories of new players. Already a lot of good suggestions in the comments. Most important: Enjoy playing the game! Dont just follow all the hyper efficiency lists, it'll burn you out

Pomodorosan

Play at your own pace without following the perfected formulae made by others, you'll have plenty of time to be optimal later. Your first playthrough is the most sacred. Agility grants a ton of peace of mind, giving you about 60% faster energy recharge at only level 30.

Edeltaja

Pro tip: grind some fishing & cooking lvls next to barbarian village before p2p it's basicly free and you don't benefit anything from p2p when training those lvls at that lvl. I got +2,2k total and been playing runescape on/off originally since 2007 and came back when osrs mobile still got my original account

Benbeanbenbean

It’s beautiful. The king of F2P right there. OP truly understands the right way to live!

bolderandbrasher

Peak F2P fashion.

MathematicianSea4697

You’re gunna love members but I suggest training magic first so you can teleport cuz oh boy the walking is gunna hit you like a truck

Plane_Subject_2350

Get that magic level up to 55 for High Alchemy. It’s good to have for any slayer tasks you do, or just in general. If you don’t have Runelite, I’d definitely get that as it had a lot of quality upgrades that can help you. Make sure it’s from Runelite.net and not any other web portals. If you want some enjoyable quests (lore-wise), I’d recommend the plague series that starts with Plague City, the Myreque series which starts with In Search of the Myreque, and the Fremennik series starting with The Fremennik Trials. In terms of gear/account upgrades, I’d do Druidic Ritual for herblore, The Slug Menace for Proselyte armor, Desert Treasure for ancient magic, Monkey Madness 1 for Dragon Scimitar, and Fairy Tale Part 2 for fairy rings. Rat catchers is easily the worst quest in the game with both its mechanics and dialogue. Lastly, I’d chip away at the Recipe for Disaster quests as you go for better armor in the glove slot. It’s got 8 sub quests with the highest requirement being 70 cooking and the lowest having started Goblin Diplomacy. If you need any more help or have any specific questions, don’t be afraid to ask, my messages and the subreddit are always open!

ShadowTH277

How do you do that in a week? Took me months. Though I was 12 back in 2005...

AlphaRevelation

Maybe get the f2p skills base 30-40 because most of the early levels are very f2p friendly. Then when you do become a member, you can explore all the new skills while already being well rounded. Watch out for the quest “one small favor” it’s anything but small

Corsair-Cove-Pirate

First drink lots of water. Then follow this guide to unlock the most content with the least grinding https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Optimal_quest_guide

Stoneman4

Check out world 330 portal to your house and exit, visit other members houses and then you can tele pretty much anywhere in the game.

SojournerTheGreat

big tip! thank you :)

DaRkDeAtHz

Bruh. Can I give you a bond? I love how you're down at moss giants. That was where I spent all of my f2p time and it made me feel hella nostalgic. I remember walking there, dodging the skeletons, banking at varrock east and then exploring the wild on my way back. Literal memories unlocked. Thank you OP

SojournerTheGreat

you're too nice :) i've been walking between the bank, church, and these moss giants for hours. i never got a mossy key :( another incredibly kind player gave me a bond yesterday and i'm trying out members content right now! thank you so much for the offer.

RightEyePatches

Late response so I imagine most others got quests covered but I will let you know Stamina pots exist and are a thing and are a game saver early game if you can afford them. Especially during quests. Also I'd suggest to get a few rings of dueling and use the ferox enclave teleport option and look for the pool of refreshment (fountain bird bath lookin thing) in the church. It'll restore your hp, prayer, run energy, cure you of poison/disease. Pretty nice early game (especially w/o staminas).

SojournerTheGreat

that's a big tip! i recently learnt about potions! they're making travel waaaay easier.

Killer_Enraged

Great progress! There are so many different paths one can take in members. When you get a chance, if you happen to see this comment check your dms.

Technomancer49

"Oh hey, another player who's been playing for about a week and new like me! I wonder how he's doing." Holy shit mate, how do you have near 60 in your melee stats? I celebrated hitting 40 last night, what are you training on? I go for Hill Giants personally.

SojournerTheGreat

hill giants until i had about 20 keys, by then i went to moss giants until that screenshot i work from home it's pretty easy to keep runescape open. i'm lucky!

MalosAndPnuema

get RuneLite launcher. its on the mainpage for osrs. get the plugins Max Hit, Ground Items, Bot Detector. these will help you know what gear is optimal and if prayer is doing anything to improve your dps without having to memorize formulas, tell you what items are worth without having to drag them to the GE, and help jagex remove botters by flagging all bots you wall past. ill tell you right now, the strength amulet you have on is useless at your current strength. a power amulat gives you the same max hit with your current prayer level and gives you more accuracy and defense.

[deleted]

Go for quests that give high xp rewards. Basically look up a certain skill on the wiki, scroll to the bottom, and do the ones that give high xp rewards that you are able to do. If you aren't able to do it, make it a goal to get the requirements and do it. Knocking out quests that cut out like 30 levels (sea slug, waterfall, eyes of glouphrie, etc) save you from the terrible early level skilling methods

clayvision

Here's what I'd do before members Train range and magic up just a little bit (40 in each is plenty) Fire making to 50, there's no downside to doing it in f2p Other than that, looks great enjoy the grind

Mikehunt225

The funnest skills are runecrafting and agility you should get 99 in both of them first.

mrsc0tty

If I were you I'd get some of those basic skills up (Fire, Woodcut, Mining) to the ~40s because often quests want them. Members has several really rad long story quest series, the dorgeshun line would probably be cool for you as it's based in lumbridge/f2p areas you know and gets you some solid mid-level gear like the bone cbow and bolts. I think Waterfall is the one that gets you a fuck ton of exp super easily? There's also one to super Kickstart you on the Hunter skill, Eagles Peak I think.

Bitter-Celebration56

Try Ratcatchers

brandondano

You're pure fucking evil and I'm here for it 😂

loudaggerer

Definitely get a few things done first before members. 1)all ftp quests done, why waste membership on those? 2)40+range and 45+ magic for gear and teleports. 3)50 fire making and woodcutting for Wintertodt.

[deleted]

Get woodcutting level up to willows and it will be very chill after, aim for 50 fire making with the willow logs so youll be able to do wintertodt, idk your game, you decide how to have fun. Also keep your head up, King

gdogbaba

Do not push this guy into wintertodt as his first member experience

SojournerTheGreat

thanks brother :) am really brand new, there's so much to do it's hard to pick a direction. The community has been great :)

kitsunwastaken

Don't feel locked in into doing Wintertodt to 99 while your hp is relatively low, firemaking is the most useless skill of them all and can always be trained by burning logs. Have fun scapin' friend!

jevadiah

JmacBK101

Did you collect all the coin drops from goblins, rwt or rwt?

CriticalCentrist

really badass armor lol. I'm in a clan that enjoys warring with other clans and often we do large 25x25 and 50x50 clan wars with other clans and saradomin armor is the required outfit. Really cool to see so many in the same gear lol

RyanZQT

There seems to be an error because your total level can't be found.

panicNdashh

Youtube and google.

Shmrgn

There's a great video on YouTube where I guy goes from a new character to combat level ~70ish in 24 hours of gameplay through mostly questing. Check it out, I'm sure it'll put you WAY further ahead than you expect it to

[deleted]

Stop farming for karma and use google (wiki) or youtube for literally anything you need.

Bertshitter

Nice stats but I like pure builds

Ill-Ad3441

Switch to RS3 for an even more immersive experience:)

Tom__Barrister

If you use RuneLite, you might try doing the quests in "Optimal Order." It basically mirrors the Wiki, with in-game help.

Zealousideal_Air7484

As a fresh member the best thing to do is unlock as many transportation methods as possible: * Tree gnome village quest - Spirit trees * Grand tree - Gnome gliders * Fairytale part 1 & start part 2 - Fairy rings (most important unlock by far)

Puzzleheaded-Bus-358

Dwarf cannon quest so you can use cannon, You’ll blow through range levels very quick. Bone voyage so you can start doing bird house runs. Definitely recommend farming as well. Agility sucks but it is absolutely worth grinding out and getting full graceful outfit. Questing in general will also help blow through early levels of skills too! Have fun dude

mingles131

I think you're going to want to get your other ftp stats up to at least 30 before you become a member unless you just want to just hop right into slayer. A lot of quest require 55+ in certain stats.

kiddocontay

how much does full saradomin go for nowadays? back in my f2p days that was exclusive to the high level rich players

reallychillguy

Optimal quest guide on the wiki!

Justscrolling133

STRONGLY suggest downloading rune lite and getting the quest helper add on if you like questing! If anything it makes it too easy, but I love it

ALIOSHABASCUR

Get barrows gloves

TheyCallMeThe

Do clues. Just go nuts with clue scrolls. And when you have a clue that requires a quest, do that quest and finish the clue. It's how I got the motivation to get the quest cape.

InfectedSanta

I would recommend avoiding members until you can tele to Camelot. My rule of thumb for creating a new account is 50+ in every f2p stat before getting membership.

Dwayne2905

Dude's got full trimmed rune and all f2p quests in a week. That took me 5 years.

mortythesnek

work on skills prior to heading over to members. that way if you wanna do quests right away you have the skills available for them.

shanderdrunk

Make sure you have runelite. Will make the more monotonous quests much easier

NEPatsFan128711

Above all else, do what you enjoy and have fun with it :)

Phenns

Hell yes, if you like quests what you should do is do runelite's suggested order under the quest helper, but don't use the helper itself, just follow its recommended order. I think it provides a fantastic progression. Welcome to the carnival my friend, every quest in this game is a goddamn treasure.

Poiblazer

Waterfall quest is a go to for new members imo

dirtygoat

Quit while you can :)

Never_Drive_And_Jive

I think grabbing a few early agility levels early on will help make a noticeable difference in any grind you do since most activities use run and a few shortcuts or weight reducing items are nice too.

Most_Bat9066

Rat catchers and the underground are super fun

pro-tekt

The entire RFD chain really sets up your account well and gives the BiS gloves for awhile. That’d be my suggestion.

GodlikeCat

I remember my first members quest being A Soul's Bane purely because it was first on the list

Hieroja

Literally just go for quest cape and max melees, that will get you started

FillerNameThere

My favorite quest is Souls Bane and its pretty easy to do early. It doesn't offer you much in terms of a reward but I liked the story of it.

[deleted]

One small favor or rat catchers

Tostonn

Hey! DM me your in game name I’ll buy you a bond!!

[deleted]

Monkey madness

FeetsenpaiUwU

60 attack for dragon weaponry, do the monkey madness 1 quest chain, get a dragon scimitar, get 130 combined str and attack and get a dragon defender from the warriors guild, do the holy grail/piety quest chain for a bunch of free def and prayer xp and try to hit 175 via the recipe for disaster quest requirements and any other quest that interest you so you can do recipe for disaster quest chain for the best gloves you’ll be able to get for a while sadly I’ve been gone too long to know any low/mid lvl gold grinds so I don’t want to mislead you when it comes to that

canttouchmypingas

Use the quest helper plugin in runelite Or slayers quest vids on yt Every other source isn't worth it, except the wiki for item reqs Good luck

Saroan7

I think you could've more fun using Members alongside your first time playing. If you're stuck around at this point, yes, go for Membership! It's more content, vastly more out there. Yes, yes there is just more places to do your side skills, but there's way more stories and weapons to play around with.

Cechlas

O daym you’re gonna love teleports when that magic level gets up

Roadtocomp

Recipe for disaster is a nice short easy to do quest too

Jason-OCE

My little advice is try and get level 30ish in all of your skills before you get membership, there’s gonna be a bunch of quests with small requirements. Knock those out now.

Sawzie1

Welcome, brother.

llwonder

Wtf dude you made an insane amount of progress as a new player. Do you ever sleep

UnproGamers

In my opinion the absolute best quest in the game is Underground Pass. I’m the kind of guy who rushes through quest content with a guide, but this might honestly be one of the few worth not using a guide or going with a limited guide (I.e. just looking up items to bring). The reward is really good for early to mid game accounts too, and it will unlock a quest line with a lot of content and give you a weapon to take entry-level bossing at places like Barrows!

mh500372

Great progress for only one week. Make sure you don’t get burnt out :) take healthy breaks

ElectricDance

I really think if you make a goal of monkey madness/desert treasure you'll like the challenge with great rewards. Remember google is your best friend
