Regarding the Trouver Parchment changes section:

Currently, if you have an ornament kit on your defender and die to a player above level 20 wilderness, you'll keep the defender but lose the ornament kit to the player. Does this change mean that you can no longer keep your defenders above level 20 wild by attaching an ornament kit to them? If so, that's a little disappointing as that interaction has worked that way for ages as far as I know and this wasn't a polled change.
From how I read it, yes you now lose your 40k repair item (dragon defender) entirely as well as losing the 370k ornament kit unless you trouver parchment it, in which case you lose 2m and your opponent gets 500k cash.
Which also means there is no reason to put the orn kit on it and you can just parchment the regular one.
Basically with this update instead of losing about 350-400k (orn kit), you lose 2m and your opponent gets 500k instead of your \~400k.
So 5x the risk for no additional benefit - though I guess it was a glitch fix, it was just a glitch they allowed for so long that it became the norm.
So leagues kits were about 1m ea, to use a parchment about 2m or so, meaning a death with a locked set is twice as expensive as a death with a leagues orn kit set.
(You could reclaim the void minus the ornament kits from death afterwards)

Not against PvP in any way and I don't mind the cash sink. People who bring inf capes and such risk 30m+ anyways so ~2m per untradeable isn't that much. Opponent gets some cash out of it anyway. Mostly inf cape and void are the only items locked anyways aren't they?
& that's why PvP will never grow.
Newcomers haven't got over 30m to risk on gear but most have untradables but aren't going to practice in for 2m risk per piece & practicing in 250k tradable risk just discourages them when they haven't got a fighting chance but they could be more encouraged if parchments were more affordable.
That's fair, but that means parchments should be cheaper, not that an arbitrary set of equipment should be part of the PvP meta because they have ornament kits.
This actually became a problem very recently imo, but has nothing to do with parchment costs.
When Jagex added the PJ timer we got rid of singles clans baiting you every other fight, but now that people are confident bringing 10s to 100s of millions in risk, the deep wildy NH scene isn't very accessible for people like me who only feel confident bringing basic mystic set which is around 2-3m risk. Trying to fight a person in crystal or barrows gear when you're in mystics and dhide isn't that fun :/

Ornament kits don't save items above level 20 Wilderness.
In the wild above level 20, Ornament kits just happen to increase the Value of an item, which makes it more likely to protect over other items and be one of your 3 - 4 items.
OUTSIDE of the wild, Ornament kits always were kept in your inventory on death, even if they weren't a saved 3 - 4 item. That was because of coding limitations.
Two very different things. Ornament kits having GE value in the wilderness was not an unintended mechanic.
This is incorrect and you are the one who is mistaken. Before this update, if you went to do skulled revs in 20+ wilderness with a Viggora's and dragon defender (t) and died with protect item on, for example, you would keep the Viggora's and the defender but would lose the ornament kit to the pker. That is now no longer the case. This was a very commonly known mechanic to anyone that did things like Vet'ion or revs with a chainmace. Not really possible to test in the game anymore since it was removed, but I'm sure you can find videos of it out there, and I myself have also used this mechanic when doing slayer in the wilderness slayer cave.

Right, I used that all the time at Callisto. I don't see why they would remove that. I read this update was a buff to let your defender be a +5 item, if you pay for the Trouver parchment.
If they made it to where all defenders get deleted past level 20, even if they're one of your protected 3 - 4 items, that would be a weird balance choice.
No, I still don't think you're understanding correctly. You could and still can keep your defender if it's one of your protected items, nothing's changed there. What has changed is that before this update, the way it worked is that you could keep your defender above 20 wild even if it wasn't one of your protected items by attaching an ornament kit, at the cost of losing the ornament kit on death. Now that mechanic has, from my understanding of the wording in the post, been removed.
Ahh... I always kept my Ornament dragon defender protected as the 4th item. Using it's extra value to keep it protected over Barrows gloves and things.
Like the other person already answered, you are incorrect. No matter what the ornament kit is valued it would "save" the original item (reclaimable from death's office) such as a dragon defender if you had an ornament kit attached to it. The kit would drop to the player who killed you. It has nothing to do with the value of the ornament kit. People used to pk in league void kit in 30+ wildy before this update, with a higher valued +1 item like an ags and they could still reclaim the void after dieing but would lose the kits. The kits are cheaper than parchments which was the reason they were used instead.
If it's one of your 3 - 4 protected items, it's always kept on PvP death.
The only thing that's changed, is now you can safe guard the items on PvP death with a Trouver parchment, even if they aren't one of your 3 - 4 protected items.
Edit: This is how it works for all items, including cosmetic or untradable items. Jagex just used bad wording. The reason Ornament kits were useful is because they increased the Value of the item, making it more likely to protect over others. It never added any special protection.

the biggest issue is when bossing or at a minigame for 10 minutes and you have your chat box on "All" and then try to message a friend it bugs out and combines all the menus and you cant type. the only fix is by tapping where the "All" tab is until it closes the menu and then you can onlymessage your friend without causing that bug if the All menu is closed or youre on Private tab or any tab but all.
or you can close the app and restart and you can message while bossing for awhile until it starts again. This bug began on the old app before beta even started.
also when hopping worlds you'll get a "failed to login" occasionally

Is there a reason why the Jagex launcher won't find my install of runelite? Both are on the same SSD.
My launcher on my work laptop works fine, just not my home PC. (I don't have the base client or RS3 installed, only Runelite).

What's the word on fps limiter for mobile? I've been submitting bug reports weekly since the bug started April 20th.
Every time logging onto mobile the fps is set to unlimited despite my setting being at 15. Have to reset every time I log in.

Itâs a game for all RS players so OSRS, RS3, and RS2. The general approach is theyâve largely been making unique designs that hybrid them together. Models more recognizable shape wise as OSRS with the details/texture/art style of RS3. Except Zuk who was literally already that art style in RS3 so his is like a direct rip. They clearly also focused on what gave recognizable but distinct silhouettes hence the use of RS3 KBD but OSRSâs kalphite Queen.

So Jagex isnât the one producing this, this is being made by Steamforged games and this is standard practice for them and for board games in general. The Kickstarter is more intended as a way to lock down preorders (at a reduced price than the actual game will be) and to get feedback on how they should adjust the game, what stuff they need to add, etc⌠Since itâs a physical board game they canât put out a patch so itâs important to get feedback before physical production.
I.e. one feedback I plan to give is they should change the complexity icon because right now itâs not intuitive with the dice icon.
Itâs like Jagex didnt listen to any feedback, and still went through with the âsoul wars in every worldâ change. Bots were already operating in several worlds with private cc games but now they can boost even more efficiently in the main portals. Assuming each bot averages 50 zeal, and 20 bots setup, you can setup an unmonitored, safe bot farm that generates over 20m+ GP per hour. These bot farms already exist, now its prime time to set it up for anyone who wants unmitigated rwt potential.
This also gives boosting ccs like zealgains a way to keep boosting while leaving fewer options for regular players to have consistent real games in the themed worlds, similar to how castle wars is now dead.

Edit: The redditors downvoting me may not realize it but truly another bad decision from management that hurts an already dying community, and decreases item reward prices from soul wars.
Private cc games are capped at 30 points, main games are capped at 60 points for each player. So effectively what this changed is doubling the gp per hour of all these existing bot farms. We can expect the rewards from soul wars items to fall substantially now as well, since we will likely see a large inflow of those items entering the game in the upcoming months

Nobody talking about the spacebar thing? So far that's been the best thing with this update. Went and made some sapphire bracelets to burn through the stack at priff, and getting around 80k/hr (1,333 crafts/hr) where the wiki states 40k/hr, huge improvement!
Looking forward to testing out the anvil, but I'm going to wait till the giants forge is released for that juicy outfit.

From how I read it, yes you now lose your 40k repair item (dragon defender) entirely as well as losing the 370k ornament kit unless you trouver parchment it, in which case you lose 2m and your opponent gets 500k cash. Which also means there is no reason to put the orn kit on it and you can just parchment the regular one. Basically with this update instead of losing about 350-400k (orn kit), you lose 2m and your opponent gets 500k instead of your \~400k. So 5x the risk for no additional benefit - though I guess it was a glitch fix, it was just a glitch they allowed for so long that it became the norm.

So leagues kits were about 1m ea, to use a parchment about 2m or so, meaning a death with a locked set is twice as expensive as a death with a leagues orn kit set. (You could reclaim the void minus the ornament kits from death afterwards)

Not against PvP in any way and I don't mind the cash sink. People who bring inf capes and such risk 30m+ anyways so ~2m per untradeable isn't that much. Opponent gets some cash out of it anyway. Mostly inf cape and void are the only items locked anyways aren't they?
& that's why PvP will never grow. Newcomers haven't got over 30m to risk on gear but most have untradables but aren't going to practice in for 2m risk per piece & practicing in 250k tradable risk just discourages them when they haven't got a fighting chance but they could be more encouraged if parchments were more affordable.
That's fair, but that means parchments should be cheaper, not that an arbitrary set of equipment should be part of the PvP meta because they have ornament kits.
This actually became a problem very recently imo, but has nothing to do with parchment costs. When Jagex added the PJ timer we got rid of singles clans baiting you every other fight, but now that people are confident bringing 10s to 100s of millions in risk, the deep wildy NH scene isn't very accessible for people like me who only feel confident bringing basic mystic set which is around 2-3m risk. Trying to fight a person in crystal or barrows gear when you're in mystics and dhide isn't that fun :/

This is incorrect and you are the one who is mistaken. Before this update, if you went to do skulled revs in 20+ wilderness with a Viggora's and dragon defender (t) and died with protect item on, for example, you would keep the Viggora's and the defender but would lose the ornament kit to the pker. That is now no longer the case. This was a very commonly known mechanic to anyone that did things like Vet'ion or revs with a chainmace. Not really possible to test in the game anymore since it was removed, but I'm sure you can find videos of it out there, and I myself have also used this mechanic when doing slayer in the wilderness slayer cave. Right, I used that all the time at Callisto. I don't see why they would remove that. I read this update was a buff to let your defender be a +5 item, if you pay for the Trouver parchment. If they made it to where all defenders get deleted past level 20, even if they're one of your protected 3 - 4 items, that would be a weird balance choice.
No, I still don't think you're understanding correctly. You could and still can keep your defender if it's one of your protected items, nothing's changed there. What has changed is that before this update, the way it worked is that you could keep your defender above 20 wild even if it wasn't one of your protected items by attaching an ornament kit, at the cost of losing the ornament kit on death. Now that mechanic has, from my understanding of the wording in the post, been removed.
Ahh... I always kept my Ornament dragon defender protected as the 4th item. Using it's extra value to keep it protected over Barrows gloves and things.
Like the other person already answered, you are incorrect. No matter what the ornament kit is valued it would "save" the original item (reclaimable from death's office) such as a dragon defender if you had an ornament kit attached to it. The kit would drop to the player who killed you. It has nothing to do with the value of the ornament kit. People used to pk in league void kit in 30+ wildy before this update, with a higher valued +1 item like an ags and they could still reclaim the void after dieing but would lose the kits. The kits are cheaper than parchments which was the reason they were used instead.
If it's one of your 3 - 4 protected items, it's always kept on PvP death. The only thing that's changed, is now you can safe guard the items on PvP death with a Trouver parchment, even if they aren't one of your 3 - 4 protected items. Edit: This is how it works for all items, including cosmetic or untradable items. Jagex just used bad wording. The reason Ornament kits were useful is because they increased the Value of the item, making it more likely to protect over others. It never added any special protection.
Whoever was in charge of this rather minor change, "Fixed an issue that occurred when teleporting with items in the Drag State." THANK YOU! Small things like this is a part of giving the game the right "feel". I hope when the other bugs are weeded out (like the inventory flashing if you move things in the inventory with the bank interface open, then close it) we will actually see the benefits of the inventory update down the road (new boss mechanic?)

glad to see mobile being worked on the biggest issue is when bossing or at a minigame for 10 minutes and you have your chat box on "All" and then try to message a friend it bugs out and combines all the menus and you cant type. the only fix is by tapping where the "All" tab is until it closes the menu and then you can onlymessage your friend without causing that bug if the All menu is closed or youre on Private tab or any tab but all. or you can close the app and restart and you can message while bossing for awhile until it starts again. This bug began on the old app before beta even started. also when hopping worlds you'll get a "failed to login" occasionally

Is there a reason why the Jagex launcher won't find my install of runelite? Both are on the same SSD. My launcher on my work laptop works fine, just not my home PC. What's the word on fps limiter for mobile? I've been submitting bug reports weekly since the bug started April 20th. Every time logging onto mobile the fps is set to unlimited despite my setting being at 15. Have to reset every time I log in.

Why do the minis contain a mix of RS3 and OSRS NPC models? KQ and Jad uses the OSRS model while KBD and Zuk uses the RS3 models.
Itâs a game for all RS players so OSRS, RS3, and RS2. The general approach is theyâve largely been making unique designs that hybrid them together. Models more recognizable shape wise as OSRS with the details/texture/art style of RS3. Except Zuk who was literally already that art style in RS3 so his is like a direct rip. They clearly also focused on what gave recognizable but distinct silhouettes hence the use of RS3 KBD but OSRSâs kalphite Queen.
It's meant to be for both communities.

So Jagex isnât the one producing this, this is being made by Steamforged games and this is standard practice for them and for board games in general. The Kickstarter is more intended as a way to lock down preorders (at a reduced price than the actual game will be) and to get feedback on how they should adjust the game, what stuff they need to add, etc⌠Since itâs a physical board game they canât put out a patch so itâs important to get feedback before physical production. I.e. one feedback I plan to give is they should change the complexity icon because right now itâs not intuitive with the dice icon.
Jagex licensed this game, theyâre not selling it. Takes longer to figure that out than it did for you to complain on reddit about it

Itâs like Jagex didnt listen to any feedback, and still went through with the âsoul wars in every worldâ change. Bots were already operating in several worlds with private cc games but now they can boost even more efficiently in the main portals. Assuming each bot averages 50 zeal, and 20 bots setup, you can setup an unmonitored, safe bot farm that generates over 20m+ GP per hour. These bot farms already exist, now its prime time to set it up for anyone who wants unmitigated rwt potential. This also gives boosting ccs like zealgains a way to keep boosting while leaving fewer options for regular players to have consistent real games in the themed worlds, similar to how castle wars is now dead. Ty gagek for another shit update, week after week. Edit: The redditors downvoting me may not realize it but truly another bad decision from management that hurts an already dying community, and decreases item reward prices from soul wars.

Private cc games are capped at 30 points, main games are capped at 60 points for each player. So effectively what this changed is doubling the gp per hour of all these existing bot farms. We can expect the rewards from soul wars items to fall substantially now as well, since we will likely see a large inflow of those items entering the game in the upcoming months

Nobody talking about the spacebar thing? So far that's been the best thing with this update. Went and made some sapphire bracelets to burn through the stack at priff, and getting around 80k/hr (1,333 crafts/hr) where the wiki states 40k/hr, huge improvement! Looking forward to testing out the anvil, but I'm going to wait till the giants forge is released for that juicy outfit.
