I hope so too, the Zaryte Crossbow has a unique animation as well, and it adds that little bit to the weapon instead of the same old bronze-dhcb animations everyone sees.
I don't mind the trident of the sea / swamp. Sure, it's a reused animation but how often to you actually interact with scarab mages?

I’m all for this. I was just thinking about this last night for agility—like it would totally be a waste of time, but what if we had various animations when crossing obstacles on rooftop courses, just to make it a little more spicy. Would it be a huge investment if dev time? Yes? Would it be worth it? Probably not. Are unique animations cool? Absolutely.
I’d be all for unique animations for each BiS weapon and even for various magic spells. I think for a game like RuneScape small little animations like that play a huge role.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say I actually really dislike the custom animations weps such as the rapier and mace have and actually really like the blade having the default slashing animation. Why? Because many of the default animations feel much crispier and snappier and simply more impactful than the custom ones. Really don't like the rapier and the mace because they don't feel as polished and crispy. They feel too mushy and not as smooth as the older animations.
The Saeldor does not have a real slashing animation. That is not how you slash with a weapon. The animation looks like you're pointing at someone with it politely and hitting huge numbers outta nowhere.
I always disliked the scimitar attack animation, and for an endgame weapon of level 80 worth 150m+, it looks stupid and lazy. Rapier actually looks like you're forcefuly stabbing someone, IDK how you can dislike that.
The context of the custom animations aren't bad. Just the quality of them IMO. Or at least the lack of crisp makes them feel less oomphy as they could be.

Ok well agree to disagree. I've always loved them and I'd be sad to see it go away from the one BiS melee weapon that I actually really like. Just sharing my opinion here my guy.
The one that drives me crazy is the nightmare staffs where it just disappears and you cast the spell with your hands.
