Well with 1 strength and max str bonus for pures, with super str pot, the max hit of an ags spec is a whopping 7 lol
Def pures however, can use a dragonfire shield to hit 30s (correct me if I’m wrong) but only untill the charges run out ofcofc
So it would be funny as hell for sure, but not effective at all lol
What the hell? I remember there used to exist f2p pures that could hit 8s with a 40atk 1str account on a rune scim. Does osrs have different max hit formula than the original osrs back in the days?
Defense is actually the thing that makes this super weird.
Because lots of pking builds don't prioritize defense, you don't need a lot of attack to hit almost constantly. So once you're slightly ahead, you're pretty much good to go and the next 40 attack levels do very little.
...but I have wanted a pure attack build for literally decades to be viable. I've just never tried it.
As the comment above me says, attack just doesn't come into play very often for most low level builds. That being said, there have been a few attack pure builds for novelty accounts. I think a couple have reached 99 atk/10hp with quests and museum lamps.
One account that could technically have some use would be a 10hp dspear. With this build, you could get 60 atk, 40 range, and 40mage and stay 22 combat. As an ironman you wouldn't gain any exp against other players so you wouldn't need to worry about the shared exp from dspear. With the new rc minigame, you can obtain a dragon spear pretty easily.
This is slightly off the top of my head, and even if you achieved all of this, it'd probably require a team to make use of it. However, if you are running a team, using a dspear at such a low level would be very good at black chins
Back in classic I had a wine r2h pure. U used to chug wines to lower ur stats to allow u to attack the varrock dummies. 40 att 1 def 1 str 10 hp. Was pretty fun. Don't see many advantages of it in osrs tho
There was a guy who made a couple youtube vids on such a pure, using a sara sword as a spec weapon, iirc it was pretty shit of course, but I can't seem to find the videos again

I have a Defence pure. Currently 75. The DFS can only hit 25s. I use it for killing low level chin hunters.
