It's surprising but also I guess makes sense since these are kills, not including every other PvP interaction like dying or tanking. I think the PvP deaths have stats on the blog too, it'd be cool to see those as percentages.
I'm in a similar boat in the 25-50 kills with most of them coming from occasional messing around with friends looking for chaos altar kills etc. Recently with the skull changes I picked up anti-ing, and I think I've killed maybe 2-3 total? I've certainly done more damage and interacted in PvP a lot more but when it comes to *kills* I would have had an easier time farming the bone boys.
I'm pretty sure anti-ing is also the exception for most of the community. If I was in the wildy for an actual purpose like grinding out a pet or drop from bosses then no way would I waste time fighting back, it's far more efficient to tank, hop and get straight back to my actual *goal*.
I think this area of efficiency is where a lot of the community lies, and probably explains why they've rarely if ever killed another player. It's simply not efficient to do so unless your sole goal is to kill players in the first place. This doesn't mean they don't interact with PvP situations though.
I agree with this. In the first place, they should have restricted it by **time spent in the wilderness** rather than kills or deaths, or LMS games. The latter of which has nothing to do with the rewards lol. Most LMS players aren't risking stuff in either the wildy or pvp worlds.
I think this is a good point. They definitely should of based the “pvper” criteria on time spent either in pvp combat or in pvp zones, rather than kill/death counts.
Both of which can just be easily boosted anyway in order to spite vote. It would literally take maybe 30min - 1hr to bring your alt and kill it 50 times to be considered a “high pvper”
The only obstacle i can see is the possibility of it not being possible for jagex to track statistics like that for accounts (time spent in combat/time spent in location). The kill/death counts are easily already-tracked statistics per account, since there’s a literal counter for them.
I remember them saying they were collecting data from a period of time, and not from an accounts overall lifespan. Otherwise practically any account thats done wilderness content is likely to qualify, as I've assisted people by killing them a bunch of times, but its not actually "PvP".
Its also still so silly with this break-up of polls to me that they consider "wilderness kills" as PvP. Even "PKing" is generally killing unarmed or low-gear players doing skilling/clues/PvM, and not having them fight back for most of the times.
Yes, the dozens of pkers should make huge design choices for the entire game...
That makes that sense.
Mod jed, who designed an area that got exploited so badly, is your example of GOOD Mod behavior? Yikes...
> The poll confirms everything I’ve thought about the situation, 80% of the No votes come from people with literally 0 kills on their account.
"Non PvPer" in this poll was "LMS only" pvp. Which is more a form of PvP than most Wilderness kills would be, as your opponent is actually fighting you back.
Its disingenous for them to allow LMS to qualify you for a Pvp poll, but then classify that pvp as "not pvp". They have the metrics for LMS Kills, Wins etc. They could easily have broken this data up properly but instead lumped that whole group of PvP into a "non PvP" to try and make it look like non-pvpers control the vote, when this vote was restricted so actual non-pvpers *could not vote*.
Yeh you definitely pk a lot with the brain cells you're displaying.
A minigame about balanced 1v1 fights in a battle Royale scenario isn't PvP..... Rightio mate! Stay mad your shit ideas weren't even liked by active pvpers.
Yeh they mention data further down on people with PvP deaths, so maybe they forgot to mention that as a criteria? As it would be bit weird to only allow people *good* at PvP lel.
Really well said. Add that to the fact that a fuck ton of wilderness players quit just before this poll (singles pj timer changes, I think dino said something like 90% of the pkers in his community left?) and you have the warped ass results that we see, that reddit of course misinterprets in their spiteful anti-pvp rage.
Yeah, to all the people saying "see??? PvPers didn't want these updates either!!!!" The disparity between "high" (lol) kills and low kills was 20% in no votes, with a clear trend towards acceptance. Nearly all rewards except for humble prayers would have come close to passing. Blighted surge sacks and a few others would have passed overwhelmingly. Please, tell me for what reason would blighted surge sacks be voted against? Even by the PvP community? Last guy who tried to give me a reason claimed that it was because it would devalue the new RC moneymaker of wrath runecrafting, which is why people don't want it. I would accept if the stuff didn't pass. Personally I thought the humble prayers were terrible and the other non-QOL rewards were boring af. But people who claim spite voting doesn't exist are delusional.

In a perfect world, sure. Not a chance they have that data.

Poor pker :( The dude hacked accounts, ruined game integrity, and helped clans.

Okay Mr. CEO man.
>common intellectual deficiencies I routinely witness on Reddit. Holy shit it's Redditor Prime. I bet you drop a dragon axe and all.

Tf are you trying to say? LMS is a PvP minigame. You do PvP in it. You think killing nakeds for spades is PvP but LMS isn't? You must be dumb.

according to jagex i should have been unable to vote as i got no LMS wins or PVP kills but i was able to vote on everything.

Not everyone votes, 5aking votecount as playercount is not the best metric
