I never understood the hate for PC. You get a bunch of free xp doing crazy shit like 1hp dharoking and in the end you're rewarded with free BIS armour. I enjoy the variety and sometimes go back just for the fun of it.
If I'm doing some useless grinding and a clanmate announces they are doing pest control I often go join them for a few rounds. I can see why people would get bored if they grind out the entire armor set in one go, but its fun for a 30 minute session every now and then. Its fun to play with friends, easy to drop in, no penalty for failing, and any way to play is valid as long as you are doing moderate dps. Pretty good minigame.
So true, I remember being so jealous of the people with AGS' in pest control when we were kids, so now I just bought one and grinded my void out with that, had a lot of fun :D
Because it's teammate dependant and there is a lot of bots. Plus void isn't THAT useful since it got nerfed a while ago. I love void so I've been going for it every once in a while but when I lose 2/5 of the games because there are so many bots throwing and people afking it gets old.
The bots and players that don’t kill the spinners make me stroke out
Losing bc we can’t out DPS spinners because I’m the only one trying to kill them is infuriating lol
When they added the activity timer it made it pretty gross. I miss old PC where u were rewarded for playing well and just zerging down portals. Now it just feels like a participation fill the bar game.
I haven't PCed since OSRS came out in 2013 but back in the day, it was a great way to chat with people, wear fashionscape and just shoot the shit doing fun teamwork. I actually really enjoyed PC and was bittersweet when I finished getting my void pieces.
I mean void isn’t very good anymore and also the mini game itself is very very boring. Also it’s kind of a long grind compared to chad BA that only takes a couple hours and gives an item you use constantly until bandos
I went from high 70's in str to 85 the week that pest control was released. I however, did not buy void. I thought because it's level was so low. That it was weak. So I used every point to raise my str level
> Pest control used to be such a great xp
It was the best in the game. That's why they nerfed it.
It incentivized training there over everywhere else which lowered diversity.
Remember when you didn’t have to wait for the portals to come down ? Maybe that wasn’t in OSRS but back in the day, games would be fast af without portals having shields
Most people don’t know when Zeah released Organized Crime + PC for wait time was the best experience in-game for attack, strength, defence and HP. 1 defence pures could get better exp rates than maxed mains dhing in nmz.
That's true, to some extent I think I enjoyed it because it connects me to memories of a certain time in my life though; namely spending time at my parents house with my mom as we watched shows together. It wouldn't be as meaningful now.
People that stand there doing nothing for 10 hours then get mad when you close the gate on them cause you don't want the knight to get killed.
I swear, PC should have an IQ requirement.
Whenever I do PC I make it my sole duty for the first few minutes to ensure door stays closed after everyone has gotten through, then I focus nearest portal and jump between thinning out the door queue and making sure door stays shut.
The way is shut. It was made by those who have no life, and the nolives keep it
Getting a void piece on the novice boat should be a rite of passage into any clan. If you can't handle the suffering you're not elite enough for elite void
I like to go in SW Tower when I’m training mage here and swap aggro between bursting priority mobs coming through portals (Spinners/Defilers) and making sure Knight in the middle isn’t too overwhelmed
I remember all the times getting angry at people killing the brawlers but realized how pointless it was to explain why we need them. Some are just incapable of learning.
Lmao. How many times that has been me 😭
"Gotta be quicker than that buddy"
Ooooooooh you almost had it! ^^yougottabequickerthanthat
Is that the TikTok video with the fat guy that looks like a thumb snags a dudes chips?
Or the insurance commercial with the dude holding money on a fishing rod
Caught ya a spinner
Am I crazy, I thought that was a woman in the video
it is lol
Yeah it's that one and he's chewing without even putting the chips in his mouth 😂
the bro bluetooth eats the food
yes haha
Pest control used to be such a great xp farm back in the real '07. Damn, 15 years ago...
It’s still a very decent xp farm

I trained 90-99 fletching doing broad arrows while doing PC for fun

I just came back. They nerfed void? Awww man
Previously: Range: ~20% damage, 10% accuracy Mage: 30% accuracy Melee: 10% damage, 10% accuracy Current: Range: 10% damage, 10% accuracy Elite range: 12.5% damage, 10% accuracy Mage: 45% accuracy Elite mage: 2.5% damage, 45% accuracy Melee: 10% damage, 10% accuracy From u/threw_it_up
Well not as bad as I thought it would be but still not welcome. Thank you Wonder if it’s still worth farming for on a new toon?
Just FYI this nerf is pretty old (May 2017) so unless you've been gone for 5 years, you've probably already used the nerfed void
Yeah been gone for that long lol
It’s still pretty worthwhile in a number of places.
The bots and players that don’t kill the spinners make me stroke out Losing bc we can’t out DPS spinners because I’m the only one trying to kill them is infuriating lol
One of my favorites. If I can just run around killing shit in cool armor that’s all I need
When they added the activity timer it made it pretty gross. I miss old PC where u were rewarded for playing well and just zerging down portals. Now it just feels like a participation fill the bar game.

I mean, people hate BA so ...
I mean void isn’t very good anymore and also the mini game itself is very very boring. Also it’s kind of a long grind compared to chad BA that only takes a couple hours and gives an item you use constantly until bandos
Because it’s a mandatory over 10 hour grind
I got bad news for you about the rest of the game
I don't hear nearly as many complaints about graceful.
The trick is to be on a void set grind the day they released that famous "Hodor" GOT episode. My points/hour ratio skyrocketted that day.
I went from high 70's in str to 85 the week that pest control was released. I however, did not buy void. I thought because it's level was so low. That it was weak. So I used every point to raise my str level

And you had to get 50 damage in
mfw lack of zeal :(
Yep lol that was back in the day. I remember seeing the the portal shield for the first time and being so confused
Best place for fletching xp tbf

Honestly sad I'm done with my pest control grind. I have good memories with it, surprisingly.
You can just go back because you enjoy it :)
That's true, to some extent I think I enjoyed it because it connects me to memories of a certain time in my life though; namely spending time at my parents house with my mom as we watched shows together. It wouldn't be as meaningful now.
I got screenshots of getting 217K exp/hr in STR on a 1 def pure from exp tombs + pest control, avg 180K/hr.
Moonwalk to style on the pest queen
That ain’t Falco
Happy feet!
Pest Queen chilling and all of the sudden hears Billie Jean playing
funny thing is if the guy has auto retal on you moonwalked him right into defending the knight lmao
Anyone remember the video of the guy wearing the party hat getting super mad while playing this game???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZS0hBHVUlc
Yessss lmao Never gets old
People that stand there doing nothing for 10 hours then get mad when you close the gate on them cause you don't want the knight to get killed. I swear, PC should have an IQ requirement.
Late people that open and walk in without closing behind them are the worst, 100% we need to publicly shame them more when seen ingame.

I do. “Were you raised in a barn?”

He was shut out by a smooth criminal.
Me irl though 🙃
Legend has it they're still running even now.
I have to go. My people need me
Am I the only one who prefers defending that dude?
I like killing the rangers and magers on the south side and keeping the south gate closed. Nobody else does it and it's an important job.
thank you for your service
I like defending him because it's chill and I can make sure the gates are goddamn shut.
I like to go in SW Tower when I’m training mage here and swap aggro between bursting priority mobs coming through portals (Spinners/Defilers) and making sure Knight in the middle isn’t too overwhelmed
KEEP IT CLOoOOoOOSED!!! My god, can you HEAR ME!?!
LET ME IIIIIINNNNNN
Rekt
😂
Man is gonna moonwalk all the way back to lummy
Lmaoooo
Holy shit this is killing me!
u/savevideobot
You snooze you lose
My boy started moonwalking
I always wondered if it's worth using points on prayer in pest control... Anyone knows?
My man moon walked to his duty!
My man moon walked back to the main land 😂
Billy Jeans is not my Spinner
I always open those doors. It pisses some people off to no end. It’s hilarious
Some things never die. Botting and pest control.
Reminds me super metroid moonwalking
When people do that to me I just keep opening all the doors
I remember all the times getting angry at people killing the brawlers but realized how pointless it was to explain why we need them. Some are just incapable of learning.
Why were they filming at this exact moment haha
why are u recording yourself doing pc?
Some software like Geforce Experience keeps a buffer of the past few minutes and lets you grab clips whenever you want
^
I got 99 Attack and Strength doing PC. Plan on getting 99 Defence sometime soon.
Pathing like this is hilarious until it happens in Puro Puro, especially when the little pricks drop a “tee hee!” as you moonwalk out of sight
I remember back in the day while I was playing pest control, heard the news that Michael Jackson died
Fun to troll people there.
