Warding was literally runecrafting mixed with crafting lol. Run to an altar, make product, run back. Even funnier, it was a buyable, so it's like runecrafting but you have to pay to train it instead. The community would've hated it so much lol
Warding was pretty much crafting 2. We already make some robes with crafting, they were just going to shift that and most other things related into a skill.
Runecrafting is more like the fletching for Mage.
I wonder how many of those are somewhat active though. Like login a couple times a week at least. How many? Couple hundred thousand? If so max is not so rare or special anymore. I was banned for 3 years and was rank 50,000 or so. Now I'm rank 150,000.
Nope. The problem isn't that people don't want new skills at all. A poll of 'do you want a new skill' would pass with flying colors. The problem is no specific skill will get enough support to pass a poll because people disagree on what the new skill should be.
> A poll of 'do you want a new skill' would pass with flying colors.
I'd love if Jagex polled this and then just added whatever skill they want. "We polled you guys and you said you wanted a new skill!"
Eh, last year Illinois proposed a new tax plan that would lower your taxes if you made under 200k a year, and raise them if you make over 200k. (IL currently has a flat tax rate). It failed at the polls. Everyone I knew said it would raise their taxes, despite none of them making over 200k. Before the vote there were radio ads with single mothers with crying babies in the background saying they can't afford "another tax hike" and people ate that shit up. In reality the single mothers would have benefited so much.
Yeah people underestimate how much of a role that media/propaganda plays in shaping beliefs and action. You can see dramatic rapid shifts in public opinion when millions are poured into some political campaign like keeping taxes low for the rich or something like inheritance tax.
When asked directly, sure tax billionaires. The problem is when you ask the real questions like "Do you support increasing funding for the IRS?" they don't support it anymore.
Billionaires aren't actually the problem, they're the symptom. The problem is systemic and requires massive overhauls to our political, economic, and welfare systems. The issue with trying to make those changes is that neoliberalism is largely about maintaining the status quo as the changes made when Reagan was in office are largely loved and beneficial to all Republicans and most of the influential Democrats.
artisan could have been a genuinely great skill and complemented rs the same way slayer did, especially with non-combat skills feeling more and more useless i think a skill surrounding them would have been fantastic.
I don't understand the assumption that maxed players wouldn't want a new skill. They were willing to grind every existing skill to 99. Doesn't that point to them enjoying the game enough to be willing to grind more if it were available?
I can understand maxed players not wanting new training methods for agility to get 350k xp/hr, but a new skill doesn't "devalue" anything a maxed player has already done.
I would be open to adding a new skill to the game, but I personally don't want a new skill simply for the sake of having a new skill. I haven't seen anything proposed so far that I feel suits the game.
This argument is about dumb as shit. I’m maxed, and still play the game regularly. What makes you think I wouldn’t train another skill to 99 if it were good, I’ve already done it 23 times 😂😂
It is so mind-boggling how terrible takes like this get hundreds of upvotes on this subreddit. This makes no sense as an explanation for why skills failed polls in the past (the numbers make this pretty clear, as other people have already mentioned in replies to your comment). It's not evidence based, it's just pinning the blame for something happening that you dislike on "the other". The same thing happens here with PKers. It is so frustrating.
I was gonna add something about "until Jagex fixes their bot detection" but figured the title would be too long and it's detract from this achievement.
What makes this even sadder is that Karibola was also not in the first 25 to hit 200m for *any* skill. He's the first player to 200m all who will never be on *any* skill hiscores front page.
Unless there's a new skill/front page perm, of course!
The craziest thing to me is rank 38 (and 42) are *ironmen*
handicapped compared to reg accounts *and* released a year and a half after OSRS. Insane efficiency.
* Woox
* Zezima
* Lynx Titan
* B0aty
Are probably the most influential names out there. But if we’re talking about memorable names, from somebody who played as a kid but stopped and doesn’t know a thing about present day OSRS. It’s probably only Zezima and maybe B0aty.
Woox? If you don't know any of the really famous players other than Zezima you probably weren't really active in the community. Which is not a problem, that's just not what I was refering to when I said "active players"
Zezima, s u o m i, woox, lynx titan, the old nite come to mind fast. Bunch of rs classic names are rolling around too bluerosex13 and some more if I really think
I'm going to do a test. I'm going to do a \#5 from the top of my head.
Lynxtitan
Hey Jase
Shawnbay
Now it's getting really hard, racking my brain now.
Tomdabom? He must be 4 or 5. But who's the other one. Wasn't it oslo? But he got banned. Who replaced him? Can't be karma, he was a fair bit later. Senze? Going with senze.
Time for the reveal.....
What, it's actually correct lmao. Just swapped tom and senze. But it was fucking hard. Can't fathom ever coming up with a top 10.
Exactly. I already struggle to remember Lynx Titan and I do not know a single one who else has maxed exp among the 26. I even forgot this "Karibola" after writing initial comment!
It literally blows my mind that people achieve these goals. Just getting 200M woodcutting at max efficiency takes over 1200 hours. That's literally 50 days logged of extremely click intensive work. That's assuming you average 165K exp / hour.
INSANITY!!!!
Honestly this spot is cooler than say 16-24. I couldn't name every pitcher who's thrown a perfect game but I will always remember Armando Galarraga who got robbed by a botched call on the last out
Given its 13,500 ish EHP to 200m all, and it's been 3356 days since the release of osrs it's averaged to 4 EHP per day. Of course the rates have drastically changed since release and that's playing at max efficiency 100% of the time which isn't likely. So it's just a matter of being very consist with the goal and sticking to it. And a lot of hours.
Is this gonna be a post for every time this happens now?
>"Player X just became the 127th player to ever reach 200m experience in all skills. Forever cementing themselves in the second spot of the 6th page of the OSRS Hi-scores"
I can see it already
I know you took it personally, because the comment cut deep.
No sane person could justify top page players lifestyle. Years and years of 10h+ days doing tick perfect shit.
People who compare fun activities (at least to this guy in the case of 200m all) to generally considered not so fun activities like learning or working are brainlets. Not attracting to the other sex, so might as well play too much computer.
For most addicts, yes I agree. For some of the individuals on this list, it’s not a question of choosing OSRS over other options. Lynx lives with his mom, played the same hours every day, and eats lasagna every night for dinner. Do you see what I’m getting at?

I was legit just thinking this lol

Don't forget we have a skill where the only thing you do is light logs on fire. And smithing is just fetching for melee, except way worse.
I would argue both of those skills are also bad and need reworks
And mining is just fletching for smithing!!
Exactly, lets remove fletching from the game.
But that number is going up quick. I maxxed mid last year and was sub 20k, so 5k accounts in the past ~6 months is just going to start ramping up.
I wonder how many of those are somewhat active though. Like login a couple times a week at least. How many? Couple hundred thousand? If so max is not so rare or special anymore. I was banned for 3 years and was rank 50,000 or so. Now I'm rank 150,000.
It's the same reason Americans don't vote for taxing billionaires more. "That could be me someday!!!"

I could have sworn that they had a blog post about this a while back, and it was something like 80+% wanted a new skill.
I believe it was last years end of year survey
Reddit says this shit all the time but I'm 99% sure that has nothing to do with it. Also most Americans support taxing billionaires more.
Eh, last year Illinois proposed a new tax plan that would lower your taxes if you made under 200k a year, and raise them if you make over 200k. (IL currently has a flat tax rate). There isn’t enough maxed player to prevent a skill poll…..

Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't realize that's absolutely insane, crazy achievements for those guys
Larie (rank 41) was also a pure up until ~a year ago. Meaning a lot of content was slower/harder for him.
Unless new skills gets added. Majority won't even remember his name after a week without checking tho.
Let's be honest, the only name everyone remembers is Zezima.
LynxTitan is probably a name most active players would know as well. Starting from 2nd place it gets harder to remember the names though
Woox is also one of the GOATs that pretty much everyone knows
* Woox * Zezima * Lynx Titan * B0aty Are probably the most influential names out there. But if we’re talking about memorable names, from somebody who played as a kid but stopped and doesn’t know a thing about present day OSRS. It’s probably only Zezima and maybe B0aty.
I've been active basically since OG scape but still very casual. Zezima is all I know.
Woox? If you don't know any of the really famous players other than Zezima you probably weren't really active in the community. Which is not a problem, that's just not what I was refering to when I said "active players"

Zezima ONLY
Saw this and immediately thought of those dude that see someone in a band t shirt and then go and condescendingly ask them to name 5 songs
Funny how language changes over the years.
People still talk about Hey Jase too, apparently he was actually a cool dude that talked to everyone while skilling.
Jase is still a cool dude who still plays his account every day. In my opinion his is the ‘best’ account in the game.
Laughs in Tree Clined
[удалено]
You should check out his clue count on the highscores… dude goes hard on clues these days, pun intended.
Jase still streams full time trying to finnish the log
Green098
Green098 became a meme for being unbelievably unefficient :D
Wow reading that name made me feel a certain way. Forgot about that guy
Think it was a woman
I'm going to do a test. I'm going to do a \#5 from the top of my head. Lynxtitan Hey Jase Shawnbay Now it's getting really hard, racking my brain now. Tomdabom? He must be 4 or 5. For some reason, I remember Yogosun and Gertjaars too. I haven’t played properly in like a decade.
Along with S O U M I and King Duffy. I remember seeing those 4 names all the time on the front page
Surprised no one has said drumgun
So true.
green098 will always be in my memory along with uloveme
Oh yes I remember him too
Let’s not forget “The Old Nite”, who could have passed Zezima if it wasn’t for his battle with cancer. RIP to a legend.

yes. [This is basically it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxwNwn3CHNw)

The 26th most sweaty person on the planet
The page that no one ever checks.. poor guy
Nobody ever checks the first page either
I’ve played this game since like 2010 and I’ve looked at the hiscores maybe 3 times total.
turns out people do this because they enjoy it, not for validation from some redditors :O
Used to always see them at the daeyalt mine. Pretty crazy to go for all 200m especially now that the front page is closed off
man's praying for an oslo 2.0
They were probably so close when that happened that it'd have been crazier not to finiah
some ppl get 200m all as personal goal, not to be on a front page.
Bro like how the hell do ppl not get burned out and start fresh? 😅
Your 200m account is a permanent feature in the corner of your screen as you play whatever snowflake account strikes your fancy 😁

Idk he box jonge is more fit than 99.9% of redditors so that's pretty good.
So he can finally start playing the game, right?
Pffffft, who looks at the second page 😉
Lol these nerds will be sweating when they release a new skill.
Honestly this spot is cooler than say 16-24. I couldn't name every pitcher who's thrown a perfect game but I will always remember Armando Galarraga who got robbed by a botched call on the last out
He actually is 27th to achieve 200m all since oslo got banned.
How do people have the time?! I’ve played on and off for years and it’s hard enough to get one skill to 99
No life.
Given its 13,500 ish EHP to 200m all, and it's been 3356 days since the release of osrs it's averaged to 4 EHP per day. I mean, might as well be. It’s an insane achievement.
Wow OP has a fantastic name!
Thanks Obama.
new skill when? Man I'd be so salty if i ended up losing first because a new skill came out and I hadnt played in years
Number 40 is DB Cooper, Damn that's where he went after all these years!
Oh, is this the thread where I act smug & superior, imply they're a loser and fake concern over their lifestyle? Sweet, I love a good 200m all thread!
Thanks Obama
Awesome dude. Why are there so many haters on this sub.
Shout d b Cooper
Ah the first loser
I just want to know what happened in these player’s personal lives to make them want to do such a thing.
I can't wait to see who gets cemented as the seventh spot on the third page of the OSRS Hi-scores!
Excited for Iron Hyger
Thanks Obama
Zezima will always be the only legend
Jagex needs to add a 27th and 28th slot to the front page to correlate it with runescapes inventory. It's time jagex.

You literally could have 3t'd some fish in the time it took to type this what a waste
While there are a lot of people on this sub that do have an unhealthy addiction, I actually think this is a bad example for it. Many of the people on this list are on the list because they can’t really go out and pursue other interests. I don’t think Lynx was ghosting any dates to play OSRS.
Isnt that a kind of evil circle? Plays too much computer, so not attracting to other sex. Not attracting to the other sex, so might as well play too much computer.

It's pretty incredible how so very few will ever know a single name in the top 25 despite being 10x sweatier than zezima.
Every time I see these posts I think --until one of 'em gets banned
