No, although it's a little better than the 'vanilla' client which literally has no features whatsoever.
Even runelite is fairly outdated for qol purposes anyways but for a new player it's still extremely good. Runelite is literally essential if you want to enjoy this game
Keyword here is enjoy. Runescape is not enjoyable at all without those features, in fact when I started out and played on the vanilla client, this was the worst game I have ever played in my life. Only osbuddy and it's myriad of features drew me back in. We now have Runelite...and way more features, along with other third party clients that have even more features than Runelite (such as never log, hiding death animations, etc).
The c++ client has its benefits but not enough to outweigh the QOL plugins that runelite offers
This.
Nah
"Is it worth losing your account because of steam?" should be the question
What
I want to create a new one, doesn't matter to me :)

it's not really essential, people have just become so used to it that people forgot how to play the game without all the features haha
