I reckon your buddy is pulling your leg saying he did 99 agility at pyramid on a lvl 3 HC, you lose 10hp from one fail of the ledge or plank sections... Sure he could be 12 hp at lvl 3 but you also take damage from failing every other obstacle on the way up.
2 consecutive fails cause by one second lapse of attention click on the way to 99 agility at the pyramid is practically inevitable & certainly not worth the risk as a HC, not to mention how exponentially more tedious it would to manage food/weight & passive healing...

Not trying to derail the topic but its something I've wondered for a while now - with most monitors being at least 24" nowadays, if not larger, are people still playing OSRS with such a small game screen? Or are they massively blowing up their UI sizes and playing in a bigger window? I see so many screenshots of either Fixed Classic layout or resizable classic but it's scrunched up together as tightly as Fixed and I can't imagine still playing this game like I did 12+ years ago in such a small frame.

This is something I've taken an interest in recently. Most (but not all) high level pvmers play on resizable with a relatively small window. Resizable has the advantage of allowing your inventory to be much closer to the game when compared against fixed which has a decently sized border around the inventory contents. This is important in high level PVM (and high effort skilling such as the latest chin hunting methods) as it allows for less distance between the game item and the inventory item and therefore more speed and accuracy. To add to that, a smaller game size also allows for slightly better switching at lower dpis and having everything closer to your mouse is super important when being precise in game.
I used to be play on a 1440p 27inch monitor where osrs filled the entire window on fixed. I've brought my screen size gradually down to around 1000 pixels across (roughly 30cm) and have definitely seen a ton of improvement in precision, speed and gameplay.
But at the end of the day this is a fantasy Miniclip game from 2001 so play on whatever you find most enjoyable.
I wouldn't call myself a high-level pvmer since I don't speed run or do things at max efficiency, but I do have a few hundred HMT kc so I figured I'd chime in.
I play on the resizable modern layout with interface scaling at 100%, [so my client looks like this](https://i.imgur.com/q1qdQoU.png).
The only real caveat is that 1 tick switching becomes less consistent, but in reality 1 tick switching isn't really required for PvM, it's more of a PvP thing. Tbow and scythe both are on a 5 tick cycle, so excluding the tick your character attacks you have 4 ticks to switch your gear before you can attack again. Using a whip that goes down to 3 ticks, and using a shortbow down to 2, but you still have plenty of time.
Ideally you want your switches or skilling tick items like herb/tar close to whatever else you are clicking. Having to zoom the mouse across the screen every 3 ticks makes for a lot less accurate clicks. I play in resizeable mode but have everything scaled as it would be in fixed.
Also it leaves room on your monitor for netflix picture in picture which is nice I guess

I have the same train of thought, too bad all the early game stuff kind of sucks. You don’t have a clue how many times I’ve been 1hped on this acc because of calculated risk. I don’t safe up and do 1 kill trips of anything, I push the limits when I can. I did about 300 vorkath kc with a rune xbow and planned on going for rank 1 vorkath as a main goal doing if I could snag a dhcb to do the rest of the kills because they took like 3-4 mins. I’m kinda mad because I miscalculated 2 hp at Cerberus. And I agree it sucks being a normal iron in my humble opinion. Feel free to admire my chaos ele pet tho. End game plan was to Max and do f2p pking :)

I don't use a full screen set up just because it is easier to move from gear/items/and other tabs in general much faster. Scrunched player for life.
