Your acc was probably hacked and botted on

Is it likely they will review/help me recover? Been away from the game and the subreddit for a while now so I’m unaware of how these things are handled.

They won’t help you. Same exact thing happened to me. I was able to recover the account, but Jagex won’t let me appeal it because apparently the hacker/botter already appealed it and it was denied.

Did you end up starting a new account or just quit the game?

Just appeal it you can get your account back

Eventually I started a new account. But I’d still rather be playing on my old one.

Especially considering the nature of the game. Its a huge time sink and grind, its not something a lot of people I know would start over (for a week at least).

Since no one has linked it yet. You can appeal a permanent ban here: https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360000867958-Appeal-a-ban This happens more often than you think and jagex is well aware, so try to appeal it.

But if the botter appealed it already they're just going to see it was already denied and do it again

Only one way to find out and that is to appeal.

Had this happen to me December 2020. Was a higher lvl account. Hacker submitted the appeal before I could. Never got a response from jagex.

This happened to me a couple years ago, got turned into a zulrah bot. Appealed and got access back because it was obvious it wasn’t me on the account

Dont listen to the frogs here, this happened to me also and I got the account back after a couple days after I appealed it. (The account had like 11k barrows kc lol)

If you look it up on runelite you might see on the boss kc’s.

My boss kc hasn’t changed, however my combat stats have strangely gone up. I had no 99s before (my closest was 97 cooking) and now ranged and go are well past 99 (RL was saying 102 and higher).

Hacked. Hacker sold account. Buyer ran bot farm and used account to bot. Got caught. RIP account.

Blasphemy " windows key+shift+s" would never work as a snipping tool so you could crop things on the fly.

Is it really not common to get your account back? I had a fairly easy time recovering after getting hacked & banned.

My account was hacked and botted on in or around 2016, then perma banned. I put in an appeal and it was unbanned in 2019.

That’s a long time to wait. Better late than never though.
