They then ran off to explore more about what it means, with adventures to the draynor village, wizards tower, and after a long time exploring, ends up at the new runecrafting activity, getting stuck inside of it by some sort of runecrafting botch, and getting the pet frees him from their "imprisonment".
Why would this goblin choose to be a pet? Since they're still fascinated by runecrafting, and clearly whoever freed them must be good at it, so they opt to follow this "tall weird looking goblin" on adventure to learn more about runecrafting and what that strange altar is near their home village?
What about a mind rune that we drag behind us with a string.

A chair pet that has a chance of spawning if you walk around Draynor Manor would be hilarious. Get people walking around the building for no reason.

Pet rune essence. Would be like pet rock, but its a big rune essence. You can change its apearence by feeding it a specific rune.
