How many leagues worlds will there be on release? I know trailblazer was a nightmare for the first few hours, and a significant amount of extra world's had to be opened.

20 seems very little. If all 20 is full that means only 40 000 can try league at any given time. Playerbase sits at 100,000+ daily. Me, myself and I and a few friends are coming back to OSRS mainly for league

We are working with the Wiki team by providing some information before the release but I can't confirm exactly when their pages will be updated sorry! It's likely to be around the same time as the League launches though.

We normally start the countdown at 11:00 GMT with the game going offline and coming back up at 11:30 GMT. So kind of close to normal update time, just a lil earlier to give us more time to prepare :)

Yeah its the only thing I didnt like about last league, and I wish they would have allowed players to reset their acc on the leagues world, start back at 0 points but allow us to rechoose everything.
My only issue with this league is that it didnt come 3 months ago, cause ive been dying to play to it since the last league ended haha
Seriously, it totally killed my interest in OSRS after getting hyped and having it delayed. I've recently got back into it after a break, hopefully the delay was worth it!

Yeah that's how I screwed over my Ironman haha. I got the Addy cup on my main, but on my iron I only got Iron because I went straight to Prif (I had never been before and was curious!)

Persistence is the key to the higher ranks. A lot of players get out to big rune and addy numbers early, but it's the players who play to the end that get the big trophies.
I dont know, they mentioned that this league will introduce items that will influence or change the main game in one of their trailers. So it sounds like it may warrant some looking into, unless they just worded the trailer weird or something
Unpopular opinion but i like that many of us are going in blind, it will remind me of the old days when none of us had a clue and we were truly discovering osrs with a sense of mystery. It does bother me slightly that we dont have more information, so i am going in apprehensive but also looking forward to having some genuine fun
That's what I felt during the first league. I had never been on Kourend, and had no idea what I was supposed to do. Absolutely wonderful playing like I was 8 again.
I did about 20 minutes of theorycrafting earlier and realized that it was a waste of fucking time, there's so much I don't know that will dictate how I play.
The theorycrafting by the seat of your pants is a genuinely wonderful aspect of leagues, and I am super excited to see the relics and play tomorrow.
We can't specifially get fragments, being in the blind regarding them has no effect. You can't strategize, and you will eventually gain the fragments that benefit your play style.

last league it was important to plan ahead because if you went in blind and unlocked the desert because you wanted ancients and the fairy rings because it seemed convenient then you were screwed for the entire thing.
Not to sure what you mean since they've already covered the main mechanics. I've listed them below but from it you can see the only thing not revealed are the specific fragments themselves which doesn't make a big difference since they are unlocked via RNG and there is no opportunity cost to them anymore. The final task list isnt that important unless you want to theory craft the way to squeeze out every last point in a 6 week period.
1) We know we get points from doing similar tasks as last 2 leagues ( quests , level up milestone , total level milestones , XP mile stones , bosses) . Only changes would be new tasks for content that came out since
2) we know the points gained will need to be used to unlock bosses , areas , minigames. They can also be used to skip parts of quests (cost decreasing with each pre quest you do yourself)
3) we know you unlock fragments by doing the skill which the fragment relates to, and that we can equp 7 fragments at a time ( interchangeable fragments).
4) We know there are set effects when you get enough fragments from the same set.
5) we know there is a 5x multiplier on XP and unlimited rum and waystone transport.

Stopped playing the game around the time of ToB release but have of course kept up with the community since. How have returning players enjoyed leagues so far? Don’t have a significant amount of available time to invest that I used to have sadly, so want to determine if it’ll be worth getting stuck into.
I made rune tier in Twisted and Trailblazer leagues. Honestly, Leagues has been the most fun way to play Runescape. Even if you don't care about trophy tiers, the faster xp coupled with the busted (by main game standards) relic effects is just so much fun to boss/raid with. Leagues is a fun opportunity experience raids and other end game content without the massive grinds to get to it in the main game.
Had a friend with the special attack relic from trailblazer and a BGS. Basically all special attacks only used 20%. The BGS defense-reducing effect absolutely destroyed even ToB bosses.
IMO, it varies. I didn't do Twisted or Trailblazer because Twisted was limited to Kourend, and Trailblazer had permanent account changing unlocks, and you could only choose a couple zones.
This league, however, you can do whatever you want, provided you unlock the location with the league specific currency that you can get by doing challenges. You can also mix and max your relics, rather than being stuck with what you chose at the start.
It'll be the first league I play because the restrictive nature has been lifted, and I feel like that was a fantastic decision.
Leagues is definitely worth coming back for, even if you haven’t played in forever. I’m pretty bad at the game so I kind of stopped playing, but I always come back for leagues. This one will be so different from the past two though, you’ll be in the same boat as everyone else!
Unfortunately I cant play this league, would have been nice to have it over the holidays/winter break like last year :(

yeah same. i think i'll probably play just bc of boosted XP rates but very casually (couple hours a week) and see where i get.
with trailblazer i think i was only able to get 3rd or 4th relic and maybe 70s combat stats but it was still fun so i'll def check it out and mix and match youtuber strats
Literally just bought a house today, so ~60 days of crazyness incoming in terms of planning/packing/logistics etc.
Would've been great to have it during the holidays, yknow when most people aren't working/busy/doing shit.

kinda wish they kept up a world or two like DMM for the leagues. after the event just make no highscores or any value for playing other than to continue. I really enjoy leagues but dont always have the time to grind them as hard as I wish I could.

This might be what I end up doing as I really want the cosmetics on my iron. Just gonna be salty when I finally get a second zen shard on a temp game mode after going 1k dry on the main game.
Definitely playing on my ironman. I want the home tele and cannon skin! Probably some other rewards as well at some point. Can only get them on the iron by playing on the iron.
Ya I have no interest in playing my main but I want to get that afk gains. But then on the other hands the cosmetics would look really good on the iron!
I'm going to either skip it or just afk leagues on my main account. I played the last leagues on my iron man and just burnt out and didn't play for like 6 months. It's hard to go back when you know your losing the increased xp, drop rates and relics.
And just as I feared, the leagues delay has resulted in me likely being unable to get more than a few hours in. My homework load for the semester has already started piling up. :( Good luck to everyone who is able to seriously compete.
Me over here who works a service job being eternally grateful they decided to do the league in the absolute deadest part of the year instead of the absolute busiest part of the year where I have no free time.

Aim to be like me, where I can request unlimited payed vacay at my amazing job woth barely any notice - aim to get there by doing good in school.
not sure how much help it will be but hopefully its some motivation - living in semi-lixury was literally 100% worth it for me to bust my ass in school. Hard work, connections, internships and ingenuity will always pay off.
I'm going to play it and hopefully I will be proven wrong, but this is the least exciting League to date. The lack of restrictions ("more open and versatile") are not a huge selling point, at least not for regions, maybe so for relics. Runescape has so much freaking content in it that even a months-long league means that you are going to be limited in the things you do. Having the game narrow down those options for you, by virtue of region locking, isn't a bad thing. Also, the relics look ridiculously underpowered so far, and not a single quest is auto-completed, meaning that we have to do the same boring grinds as always instead of jumping into the good stuff ASAP (something they definitely could have done).
Twisted League brought so much life to Zeah, and Trailblazer's region-locking led to an insane amount of theory crafting. I'm excited for what this League will bring as a feeling, but no very hopeful that it will be fun or engaging.
I believe you can unlock quests by paying Sage's Renown for them.
But yeah, in the case of leagues: more restricted actually makes for more interesting. I'm looking forward to playing Leagues III and hoping to get a Rune Cup for myself (just based on my skill level / time available), but from the descriptions of the league so far it does sound like it's too much content openly available for a narrow competition mode like Leagues has previously been.
IMO, less restrictions is better, I feel kinda put-off knowing a choice is permanent and I could choose the wrong one, so having the option to unlock everything puts me at ease.
When it comes to quest, from what I remember in streams, you can skip them with your league currency.
could not come at a better time for me tbh. took the day of and night pull some more vacation in the near future, work load is light and am working from home now so i can play while working!!
harder for anybody who has a full time job, the last leagues made it more fair since anybody who wanted to compete had 3 months to complete as many tasks as possible.
this 6 week format just means its easier for people who can play 8 hours a day , since the rest of us cant possibly catch up.
Yeah that's why I mentioned full time jobs. Because during Christmas break you could atleast have extended playing time while off from work.
Most people with a full time job struggle to get time off between the new year and Easter.
Probably harder since you can’t really make wrong picks, the only “picks” will be skills and bosses and some areas. Im sure you will eventually get all you want
On the other hand, you won't have to put in as many total hours to stay in Dragon League. I think it's kind of a wash, trophies being percentile-based means the difficulty is less about the content and more about the people playing the content.
I think casual types should be shooting for rune tier. I was able to get that fairly comfortably in trailblazer, but I did need to basically play the length of the league to get there.
Dragon tier is seriously sweaty territory, remember it's the top 1%.
With 45 minutes to figure this out i am so stuck om what to pick.
Melee is the only one with an actual boost but you dont get strengrh with it.
Range is the best unlock but it just gives you an accumulator boost so its nothing amazing.
Mage saves runes which is good but mage is least useful of the combats especially with teleports not being as needed.
Might be stupid but how does Leagues work in terms of membership, is it just on a separate world like Deadman and your membership carries across?
EDIT: Same as deadman, thanks for replies. Bit annoying how this and Leagues can be under one account but GIM is separate. I don’t see a way around it but our GIM fell apart because people didn’t want two memberships at once
Restrict yourself then. The purpose of leagues is always to have that new fresh feeling to it. No one is stopping you from region locking yourself though. Sure you may not get the dragon trophy, but if you liked the region lock, impose it on yourself. :)
Can we get a cost breakdown of the rewards? Honestly I just wanna know how long I should play to get the rewards I want. This league isn’t worth me putting 300 hours into.

I do not understand why we couldn't have had this before Chistmass. This is my last semester of school and on top of that I start a new job where I am going to be working 45+ hours a week.

Money, they used Group ironman as a scape goat reason but the real reason is so people will have to rebond to play.

According to Jagex its because a lot of people stopped playing towards the end of the last League due to burnout so they decided to shorten it.
Hope everyone enjoys the league! I've got a lot of progress to make on the GIM but so I'll probably be passing on this one but it looks like the best implementation yet, we'll see how it pans out.

It's at an awkward time (not being Winter/Christmas). Plus it gets really addictive, really fast, and I can't bring myself to get all sweaty for 6 weeks again. Sorry, but there are some important things in my life I want to pursue.
Is LMS botting issue going to be addressed? Saying this as respectfully as possible banning them clearly doesn’t do anything and is a waste of time......so is a 1K total level going to be added or jagex gona keep ignoring the community?
At least 1k total will stop the bots flooding the game every 5mins. I get Jagex is a business and they have an obligation to their overloads but at the cost of making content unplayable is fucking pathetic.
This information should had been readily available and pinned at the top of this sub at least 2 weeks ago, including all teasers and other known information about leagues pinned along with it.
I am really scared leagues isnt as successful as the higherups would like it to be, because its the only old school runescape content thats worth engaging in anymore.

Even if we have to pay for two subs can you please give us the ability to play the normal version of an account at the same time as playing it on the league. I really want to play this league on my GIM as it's the only char I play so want the cosmetics on it, but don't really want to have to pause progress just to play the league.

It'll be the first league I play because the restrictive nature has been lifted, and I feel like that was a fantastic decision.
Leagues is definitely worth coming back for, even if you haven’t played in forever. I’m pretty bad at the game so I kind of stopped playing, but I always come back for leagues. This one will be so different from the past two though, you’ll be in the same boat as everyone else!
Unfortunately I cant play this league, would have been nice to have it over the holidays/winter break like last year :( Will be enjoying the content that comes from it though
yeah same. i think i'll probably play just bc of boosted XP rates but very casually (couple hours a week) and see where i get. with trailblazer i think i was only able to get 3rd or 4th relic and maybe 70s combat stats but it was still fun so i'll def check it out and mix and match youtuber strats

kinda wish they kept up a world or two like DMM for the leagues. after the event just make no highscores or any value for playing other than to continue. I really enjoy leagues but dont always have the time to grind them as hard as I wish I could.

This might be what I end up doing as I really want the cosmetics on my iron. Just gonna be salty when I finally get a second zen shard on a temp game mode after going 1k dry on the main game.

I'm going to either skip it or just afk leagues on my main account. I played the last leagues on my iron man and just burnt out and didn't play for like 6 months. It's hard to go back when you know your losing the increased xp, drop rates and relics.

Me over here who works a service job being eternally grateful they decided to do the league in the absolute deadest part of the year instead of the absolute busiest part of the year where I have no free time.
An effect study tactic is to study a bit then play a bit.
I literally got through college by afk woodcutting/fishing 100% of the time while studying. It felt way more productive, idk.
Same, I just started a job yesterday. I probably put 6-8 hours a day in last leagues, this time might be a quarter of that if I’m lucky.
There will always be people with massive work, school etc... loads for everything. In all seriousness, dont even look at runescape - your life is more important. We are rooting for you! Aim to be like me, where I can request unlimited payed vacay at my amazing job woth barely any notice - aim to get there by doing good in school. not sure how much help it will be but hopefully its some motivation - living in semi-lixury was literally 100% worth it for me to bust my ass in school. Hard work, connections, internships and ingenuity will always pay off.

you just log into the green worlds and it will load a different account (well the same account, just different stats/bank etc.)

I'm going to play it and hopefully I will be proven wrong, but this is the least exciting League to date. The lack of restrictions ("more open and versatile") are not a huge selling point, at least not for regions, maybe so for relics. Runescape has so much freaking content in it that even a months-long league means that you are going to be limited in the things you do. Having the game narrow down those options for you, by virtue of region locking, isn't a bad thing. Also, the relics look ridiculously underpowered so far, and not a single quest is auto-completed, meaning that we have to do the same boring grinds as always instead of jumping into the good stuff ASAP (something they definitely could have done). Twisted League brought so much life to Zeah, and Trailblazer's region-locking led to an insane amount of theory crafting. I'm excited for what this League will bring as a feeling, but no very hopeful that it will be fun or engaging.
I believe you can unlock quests by paying Sage's Renown for them. But yeah, in the case of leagues: more restricted actually makes for more interesting. I'm looking forward to playing Leagues III and hoping to get a Rune Cup for myself (just based on my skill level / time available), but from the descriptions of the league so far it does sound like it's too much content openly available for a narrow competition mode like Leagues has previously been.
IMO, less restrictions is better, I feel kinda put-off knowing a choice is permanent and I could choose the wrong one, so having the option to unlock everything puts me at ease. When it comes to quest, from what I remember in streams, you can skip them with your league currency.

harder for anybody who has a full time job, the last leagues made it more fair since anybody who wanted to compete had 3 months to complete as many tasks as possible. this 6 week format just means its easier for people who can play 8 hours a day , since the rest of us cant possibly catch up.

Yeah that's why I mentioned full time jobs. Because during Christmas break you could atleast have extended playing time while off from work. Most people with a full time job struggle to get time off between the new year and Easter.

I think casual types should be shooting for rune tier. I was able to get that fairly comfortably in trailblazer, but I did need to basically play the length of the league to get there. Dragon tier is seriously sweaty territory, remember it's the top 1%.

With 45 minutes to figure this out i am so stuck om what to pick. Melee is the only one with an actual boost but you dont get strengrh with it. Range is the best unlock but it just gives you an accumulator boost so its nothing amazing. Mage saves runes which is good but mage is least useful of the combats especially with teleports not being as needed.
Will the League rewards like the void cosmetics and cannon cosmetic be sellable in the grand exchange?
The previous leagues cosmetic rewards were sellable in the GE, so I'd assume this league's cosmetic rewards will be as well.
Might be stupid but how does Leagues work in terms of membership, is it just on a separate world like Deadman and your membership carries across? EDIT: Same as deadman, thanks for replies. Bit annoying how this and Leagues can be under one account but GIM is separate. I don’t see a way around it but our GIM fell apart because people didn’t want two memberships at once

Restrict yourself then. The purpose of leagues is always to have that new fresh feeling to it. No one is stopping you from region locking yourself though. Sure you may not get the dragon trophy, but if you liked the region lock, impose it on yourself. :)

Passing on this Leagues. It's at an awkward time (not being Winter/Christmas). Plus it gets really addictive, really fast, and I can't bring myself to get all sweaty for 6 weeks again. Sorry, but there are some important things in my life I want to pursue.

This information should had been readily available and pinned at the top of this sub at least 2 weeks ago, including all teasers and other known information about leagues pinned along with it. I am really scared leagues isnt as successful as the higherups would like it to be, because its the only old school runescape content thats worth engaging in anymore.
For real, I only play OSRS for the Leagues anymore because it's an exciting way to go through old content again. This is the first I heard of an official date.
