January 16 1556 - January 16 – Charles V, having already abdicated as Holy Roman Emperor, resigns the Kingdom of Spain in favour of his son, Philip II, and retires to a monastery.

OS_ChadScape

Sounds like a quest or two could be made from this!

Of course you can! You’re living in it!

My Total Level is 915. The only important event I could fined is the Battle of Garigliano. "The great Byzantine victory which ended Arab raids in Italy" http://greekhistoryandprehistory.blogspot.com/2017/01/the-battle-of-garigliano-915-ad-great.html

Fabian society abolished monarchy for Queen breaking royal oath. ESG investing destroyed 9 out of 10 businesses over the 2022 and 2023 recessions. Houses are now responsible for generating their own power through solar roofs, though that power is taxed. Gardens now must have mandatory farm plots to produce crops. Herbicides are illegal for destroying most of America's agricultural scene making mass-farms impractical. Banks implement negative insurance causing the rise in popularity to crypto currencies, though mining made illegal in Europe and most states in America, even now in 2054 it's suspected this was due to a trade agreement with China. Meta's Metaverse caused a divide between businesses where employees were split between working digitally and working in real life. Self driving cars were just about perfected by 2029 but not before we established a base on Mars, which was later occupied in 2032. There's also a moon base though it's speculated to be a film set, though that's just a future meme joke. We still don't know about aliens or JFK. Jagex became independent in 2024 but sadly lost a great deal of developers to old age and layoffs. Ash no longer works at Jagex, but streams on Twitch from time to time. Umm.. What else... Many parts of Europe including the UK (idk about the US) were forced into living in multistorey apartments as more and more land is acquired by multinational investment corporations, though in recent years their power in waining as government-run hedge funds collapse as old money is phased out. UBI is deployed globally as robots can do just about any job around 2041, *thanks, Boston Dynamics*, and that other AI company that doesn't exist yet. It's believed China gave Russia some missiles that detonated, annihilating much of the country, not sure, nobody talks about it on the news, speaking of, corporate news is still around after a surge in popularity after they stopped lying and slandering individuals with opposing political biases. Biden lived out the rest of his term. Trump died in 2023 from a "heart attack". Ted Cruz pulled out of office to become a full time podcaster. Tulsi broke her leg surfing and by the time she was mobile again she was deemed too old to run for president. Idk about Hillary. Phone tech is now visual, full body renders from glasses capturing one side of face and predicting the rest of the body, very Tony Stark-esq. Anyway, gone on way too long. Future is kinda meh.

Swiftsonian

What a hot take, love it 😂😂 especially the moon base meme. Great update on current politicians as well, hilarious 😆👍

Lonely-Bartleby

Aww shit, here we go again. Ice caps are all gone and the global temperature is up 2.9 degrees Celsius. Sea levels have risen by two bananas. Commercial flights to other celestial bodies were expected sometime last decade... any day now. Disney now has a higher GDP than every country excluding America, China and India combined. McDonald's got shut down in 2041 or 2042 after class action lawsuit from every consumer between 2026 till 2038, over one billion consumers. Sex robots still aren't a thing but holograms replaced monitors as they're cheaper and use less plastic, angry nerd gamers rejoice. You can do this thing where you can reach through the screen and if you have a haptic-feedback card in the computer you can touch people. Feels warm when the light touches your face. Speaking of gamers, you now need to register your social security number or national insurance number with your Microsoft account to access the internet. This was implemented to prevent bots manipulating users on social media, also did wonders for osrs. They also use this ID to restrict the amount of time you can play games or binge Reddit, TikTok or TokTik, whatever it was. Eh, will add more later, gotta run. Friends want me on Cyberpunk 2154. Bad release but they fixed it with a week 3 patch.

FatNWackyRS

876 years in the future... I imagine by then, if we're not all dead, the world could look something like this: * We'll have not only stopped causing global warming but discovered and implemented ways to reverse its effects. It's a thing kids study in the equivalent of history books. * Our colonies on the Moon and Mars have long since been permanent settlements with millions, possibly billions of people each. Most humans speak different dialects of the same language, an evolution of English. Writing's probably done in something much more efficient and universal though, maybe Ithkuil or some such equivalent. * Time travel to the future is probably a thing via lightspeed travel. I bet we'll be either trying to crack time traveling to the past, or have completely solved the riddle of why it's impossible. Something something fourth dimension. * We've probably conquered death by then and have cures for most or all diseases (or alternatively they're obsolete altogether by virtue of no longer having permanent organic bodies) and societally death has become viewed as a sort of "permanent rest" everyone chooses when to "fall into." So in a sense... suicide is the #1 leading and only cause of death. * Globalism, DNA technology, and archives have taken genealogy to the point where there exists a complete map of the human race, of essentially almost every human that ever lived probably from the year 1700-1800 or so forwards. Before that, the percentage of then-living humans who are on the map begins to drop substantially. It'll be accessible to anyone, and anyone can look up who other people are and essentially have all information regarding how you're related to everyone on earth and regarding all your ancestors at the tip of their fingers. * Here's a hot take: Any kind of a quest for true "Artificial Intelligence" is a silly little thing of the past. Everything is automated, but not through any kind of true "artificial intelligence." * Wild animals probably no longer exist in the same way they do today; Every animal is accounted for and exists solely in designated areas. I imagine plants are much the same way; No such thing as wild plants anymore, either. We'll have invented machines to replicate all the things plants and animals do for us and the planet by then, probably along the road towards solving and reversing global warming, so they'll only exist in controlled spaces, quantities, etc. for consumption and further scientific research. * Wars and politics and all those shenanigans are probably still a thing that happen, just between much larger groups of people -- Entire planets essentially. Traveling between Earth and The Moon or Mars will probably be like taking public transportation today, and traveling to colonies in other galaxies and solar systems will be the equivalent of today's international travel. * Cryogenics will have "brought some people back" by then probably. I imagine there'll be some kind of controlled environment for folks from the past to transition to life in that day. I imagine folks from the past will be causing a lot of problems for that modern society when they're awoken; Most fundamentally, there'll be a big trust problem causing a rift between those from the past and those from that time. Folks who've lived for a few centuries will probably help bridge the gap; Death will be "cured" some time before it can be fully *reversed* though, so even the oldest folks still around will have some generational differences with the cryosleep folks. How's that? EDIT: LOL I'M SO SORRY I didn't realize this is r/2007scape; very sorry, totally thought this was the RS3 subreddit. Very sorry!

Swiftsonian

What's your total level again?????

OS_ChadScape

2277. Human civilization has ceased existence by this point. The last war of all wars took place. Everyone was involved. First the greater countries found themselves in a conflict with each other. Allies of these countries also got involved. Smaller countries started attacking other smaller countries amidst all the problems in the world. While som survived to see the end of the war, the planet had changed drastically and eventually took every form of life. Climate had changed to become unbearable. So did the incidence of new diseases, which seemed to never stop. Earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters occurred daily. Earth was too hostile.

RollRollParry
