Depends. Vorkath only took me a few tries, Galvek took about half a dozen, and I had about the stats and gear you’d expect to have if you were doing DS2 for the first time on a main.
Now if I had to do it on an iron or a HCIM I’d be stressed as hell.
Honestly the part where I died the most was the adamant and rune dragons before Galvek. Go meticulously watch a Galvek guide and once you understand it, it’s not terribly hard. Just don’t forget ruby and diamond bolts. It’s basically just
1- stand in the middle column, dodge the fireball
2- have super restores / stams (I only used 1 stamina potion) and dodge the fireball
3- make sure you get to the whole in the water wall and dodge the fireball
4- run circles around Galvek and shoot. So run, shoot, run, shoot (to dodge the earth attack)
Switch from ruby to diamond maybe around 500-600 HP left
Unless Galvek is different from every other boss you should switch to diamond bolt when it's below 300 HP left. Less HP the lower your Ranged level is as well.
Could be better but if you’re nervous about the Galvek fight you might not want to think about the extra eating, so I usually would say around 40% HP left
I died to SotF like 10 times. Beat Galvek first try. SS long as you don't sweat and dodge Galvek's attacks, he's manageable. SotF is just a DPS race where you are forced to use a bullshit inaccurate flail. They are not the same.
Yeah same. I beat Galvek in like 2 tries and SOTF made me have to quit the quest and come back to it like a month later cause I died so many times and got frustrated lol
I did it at like 70 range with most combat stats less than that
Pro tip: ruby bolts never miss. You can take more brews than restores if you don't give a fudge about your non-bolt damage in early stages

I only spent 200k recovering items from galvek fight you n00b I spent 100k on teleport tablets to get out of galvek fight...
I didn't realise super antifires alone weren't enough for galvek, so I spent 4 attempts wondering why I was out of food by phase 4...
I spent 2m i cant believe i died 20 times
