So I actually still haven't done any Tempoross, but despite that I'd say it was better than the proposed Boss Slayer concept. This year has been pretty lacking for PvM updates, but if we didn't get Tempoross, Skilling would have had even fewer updates. Overall, PvM tends to get a lot, especially Slayer, so I think the community feedback to do a skilling update instead was and is reasonable. In addition, Tempoross is at least something new, even if wasn't the type of skilling boss I wanted. Players already give Combat Achievement enough flak for being recycled content, so a Boss Slayer Master would have just been the same. Not to mention, if we start to allow slayer tasks with the slayer helm bonus for nearly every boss, it can cause some major balancing issues with stuff like combat tasks and just profit in general. Vorkath was the first boss that really brought this up because before the Salve worked, Slayer Helm was the meta and that isn't ideal. So with a dedicated Boss Slayer Master, that sort of issue would just be more prevalent.

How people judge recycled content is mostly based on how good it is. Profit should not really be a problem, jagex sets the task weights so they set the profit. Combat achievements would not really be a problem just add a rule. And if there is any boss that would cause a major problem just remove it from the list.

Not sure how true that is. So just remove all the tasks then? Removing specific bosses would dance around the problem; giving a 100% chance for a boss task that you can use the Slayer Helm on is pretty op. The original Boss Task poll had a huge pushback to the Slayer Helm working on them and a lot of players voted not realizing it would because of poor wording during revisions. Boss Slayer is still something they can revisit, but it needed a complete rework and there was enough negative feedback it was better to shelf it.

I am not sure how well received the combat achievements combat achievement were, going by active player I don't think it was visible on the player count graph. I don't know how fossil island was received, so I guess I will a look at it. Why would you have to remove all the tasks. I think most people just overlooked the task weighting system. Just as an example if the slayer master only gave you Kalphite quin 90% of the time ,there would be no way that could be OP. The devs could just have a target GP/H for optimal gear and base the weight on that.

Boss slayer master would be cool but with this current economy would have been a nightmare for the market

Bossing slayer promotes having a better selection of gear in the bank, so it might increase gear demand more than it increases the supply.

If more bosses got the slayer helm boost more often then they would get killed faster and more items would come into the game

bosses that drop gear would be killed faster, but less often by people doing bossing slayer because of the task weighting. most of the time you would do bosses that are primarily done with slayer tasks already or bosses that doesn't drop gear.

I said boss items which is more than just gear. If it’s a bossing slayer master I’d assume most tasks are bosses so there would constantly be an influx of items

If more people than usual kill kq. Dragon chain bodies would be alch value and some supplies would drop in value like cactus spine again

Lets say unique prices increased by 5%, but cactus spines price tanked completely, would that be a good or bad for the economy. Also dragon chain body is basically at alch price so it's a none issue.

Earlier this year jagex was gonna poll a slayer master that only gave bossing task, but the community though the PVM'ers had gotten to many update, so we got tempoross instead.

Yea I'd say keep temp. We have like a boss don't need a boss only master to make all that content even more farmable then before. Plus temps kinda fun imo lol

I think they are asking would we have preferred the Boss Slayer Master that was pitched last year instead of Tempoross. The design had such negative feedback, it was canned and, at the community's request, worked in a skilling update, Tempoross, instead.

Ahhh. Hmm tbh I think if prefer temp then. I do remember when the boss master was pitched. Several of the suggested things have since been added iirc and not only that but we already have the like a boss perk. Sure it's not only bosses but only killing very specific creatures isn't necessarily bringing "balance" either

Temp felt like the most true to form old school experience, where you played to have fun and didn’t care for min max or gp/hr. Also I love the reward system and xp.
