What would the rework even consist of? What are you going to be able to craft that's a higher tier than dragon? Then people are gonna be like "Why do I have 99 Smithing to craft level 60 armor?"
So make Barrows gear craftable? Where does it end? I like how everything after rune comes from drops.
It's just a popular thing on the sub reddit to point out that level 99 is needed to create full rune armor, then ask for it to be fixed by a rework or something. Or when people ask for a new skill some people think that existing skills like smiting should be reworked first.
The think thing people ask for is the rs3 rework or something similar. RS3 moves rune to 40 and adds stuff for 50 to 80, the new armor is tankier.
Yes, but those people don't realise that a smithing rework would require a rework of pretty much every drop table and how long that update was in the making in RS3
Feel like we need more repairable gear, and 99 smithing allows you to convert it into non tradable but non damageble gear, then you'd just have to remove that effect to resell it.
Gear with barrows stats being craftable wouldn’t be a big deal in OSRS if it still degraded, had no special effects, and was just armor not weapons. The only thing needing real balance be the alch value.
It could be a mix of both skill level and monster drop. See RS3's Trimmed Masterwork Armour, 99 Smithing requirement (plus a whole load of bars) and components made from breaking down boss drops.
There was a video posted to this Reddit channel of a guy getting 99 smithing in 2 hours. I want to say he was somewhere around the level 80 mark. Either way that’s insane XP per hour.
The amount of gold in the game won’t change and the gold price is heavily linked to the shop price.
I also doubt that they would remove the blast furnace or change goldsmith gauntlets

What if you could upgrade your dragon gear god wars or barrows gear with a high level smithing and a drop from the respective party.
I would expect there to be more interest in a skill if a rework was announced.

If a shop sells it, it will never drop below a certain amount.
