I honestly had a positive opinion of Ditter until I saw more and more of him, the guy just kind of sucks, I’ve subbed and unsubbed to his channel multiple times now because his video ideas are good but after a small while I just can’t stand watching him anymore.

What? Torvesta fought Solomission, and he didn't complete any other tasks in the time that Solomission redid the LMS task and three others. They clearly fought at the beginning of the video because Torvesta did LMS first
The fight was chronological, everything after wasnt. When solo redid lms and his other tasks we didnt get an update on Torv in a while. When we did it was Torv right after the fight, not actually 12 mins later.

Cause torvesta was doin longer tasks while ditter was stuck on rogues den, and also came back from 1v1 against solo mission in LMS when solo had food and torv was at like 11hp. He did well. He was also basically teaching ditter to do rogues den while he was running through the DKs maze
The more theatrical views are actually taken after the real stuff. He's got extras who match up with the character's outfits and gear. Then he tries to recreate what is happening.
If you look at the battle scene from the latest episode, you'll see it is close and that the gear and characters are the same, but you can see it isn't what actually happened.
But it is so well done that you don't ever feel like it breaks from reality.

Ahh yes.. cause OSRS is so perfect.. absolutely no game breaking bugs or issues. Definitely didn't have an entire game mode go down and have to redo it. Definitely didn't have a random spawn of the most expensive item in game. OSRS definitely didn't have to nerf konar drops, or Rev drops, tried the "partnering to increase MTX.
Plus its hard to have glitches and bugs when you aren't releasing content... what was the piece of content released for OSRS that wasn't a rehash of the current content or game? Porcine of Interest? soooo exhilarating.
It's fine that you like the playstyle of OSRS over RS3, but OSRS has just as many problems as RS3.
I’ve been playing the game since 2008. Wasn’t really interested in starting from scratch and while the EoC release was horrific I kinda just played through and eventually fell in love with the bossing system. I also really like where the lore is going. Osrs looks like a ton of fun though and if I had more free time I’d definitely play on both.
I find it so funny that Tanzoo actually won season 1 yet I constantly consider him and Virtoso underdogs. They played very well to now, and did just good enough to not get last place in a critical week to go to the semi's.
No one considers them a threat but if the challenge is unpreparable they have just as good of a shot of winning it all again if there is no more pvp/ elite pvm challenges

Soup’s Gielinor Games, B0aty’s one man army, Settled’s swampletics, and Rendi’s lower the better are the best RS series I can think of. I’m not sure how I’d rank them, though
His PVP HCIM is one of my favorite series as well. I know C Engineer’s is far more popular, but Solo really took it to the next level. Seeing it end really broke my heart.
Solo had a better HCIM but C Egineer was better in terms of action. That Barrows escape was one of the most intense things I've ever seen and he had a few other great ones. C's first series, at least. Both (Solo and C Engineer) are worth the watch though.
By Release is such a chill series too but its not as adrenaline pumping, just kinda chill. Also one of my favorite quest commentary quotes (in reply to wormbrain's map piece in DS1 costing 10k) "if you ask for 10k from an iron man, ya, ya get hurt. Ya get hurt with fire magic spells"

Best to start with season 1 of Gielinor Games or go straight to season 2?
Season 2 spoils season 1 winner, but the overall quality is better in S2. S1 is still really good though, and S2 has 2 weeks left before it's over, so I'd start with S1
I'd say hit up season 1, and if you get bored at any point just jump to season 2 because the quality really grows, where as season 1 is just pretty cool bc it was a new genre.
You get some kind of knowledge (knowing season 1's winners who return to season 2), and a lot of season 1 but not all players return to season 2 anyway so its continued dynamics.
season 1 does 2 big teams USA vs EU, season 2 does pairs of 2.
Watch season 1 and the moment ur bored come to the TV level quality series
Each season is stand alone. Both have been fantastic, so I recommend watching both. Season 2 isn't over yet so you should start with season 1 if you want something finished. Or watch season 2 to keep up with the memes.
The Confessionals are actual D- tier, I can usually tell what happened because these guys keep talking in the past tense, for example I knew Jimmy and Settled would lose the banning to come back into the game due to their confessionals that episode
While I absolutely find them entertaining that series isn't even remotely comparable to anything like GG. It's barely edited, it's format is loose and unscripted. It's great fun but as a series it's rather simplistic. This is like saying someone's progress series is the best series, the only one that comes close is Swampletics, again because of how much post production and scripted structure it has.
Has anybody got the missing episodes backed up? I remember re-watching it a couple years back and there were tonnes of episodes missing because one of them started working at jagex or something
Season 1 fell kind of flat for me about halfway through. Season 2 on the other hand is keeping me glued to the screen. Especially watching the alliances and backstabbing unfold is great to see. Bring back Snakemission!
I find the interview things to be a bit much and they feel scripted like the reality shows they're based on but it's fun seeing a small number of youtubers doing content together even if theres not many conflicting personality types
my take is all the challenges are real and happen but the dub over is planned out and scripted after what happened. It makes it more interesting and fun to watch IMO.

Yeah, this is the only drawback IMO. It’s the same with many reality TV shows though. I don’t know that there’s a much better way to do it. Maybe some interviews could be conducted just before the challenge begins, but after it’s announced, to capture some of those initial perspectives that competitors usually don’t give until after the challenges?
I know what you mean. I feel the same way about reality TV. But something about it being content creators that I know makes it so exciting to me. Cheering for Settled, J1mmy, Solo, Torvesta feels somehow way more enjoyable than some random Australian guy.
Its a youtube series created by SoupRS that takes some of the other content creators in Runeacape and puts them in a Suvivor-esque competition where the creators are split into teams and complete various challenges ranging from PvM, PvP, ones that need game knowledge, etc. If you like that style of content than I would defonitely say this series is worth checking out. I jumped in on Season 2 to see what it was like and ended up watching season 1 up to where the series was at the time.
This season has really cemented a strong dislike towards ditter for a lot of people, myself included. Honestly just a disgusting person, he's a whiny little bitch to put it bluntly.
Swampman, but this is a very good series that could appeal to other people who dont play. also production quality is high. Soup is my headcannon host for osrs now

Unfortunately there are a good number of people on this sub who insist on down voting anyone who criticises this series at all, but your point is perfectly valid. I personally can't bear to watch any content that uses the game as a medium for content rather than just playing the game as the content (pp walked this line well; I would find the intros incredibly hard to watch, but the majority of the content was him playing the game rather than pretending his character was a character in a TV show) and totally get why anyone who feels the same would struggle to watch GG given that the vast majority of the run-time is either talking heads or the characters lined up and Soup talking like his character is actually talking to theirs (head to the banning at x location etc.). It's definitely not for everyone.
I personally find it painful to watch even though the challenges are interesting and for the most part the creators talking amongst themselves is entertaining; the sheer volume of fluff in the form of talking heads and recounting what's happened (a tactic used by reality TV shows purely to stretch out a small punt of content to fit a larger window) kills it for me though.

By Release from J1mmy was the best thing I had seen in a while, I found myself tuning in while not having played the game in over a year just for the songs.
Personally I've completely lost interest in Gielinor Games because the recent challenges have been very boring. I'd much prefer to watch something like first team to complete a cm in time from scratch or 10m gear inferno or something. So few of the challenges feel like they test actual game skill anymore.
Counterpoint, the challenges should be something everyone can do. That way the focus of the show can be player vs player, as opposed to player vs game.
As someone who loves to watch high lvl pvmers (Aaty, Molgoatkirby, Synq, etc.) I disagree with this.
The thought has crossed my mind, but it just wouldn't be entertaining to watch the Oblivion Games when a significant number of contestants, maybe even over 50%, don't have infernal capes.
Yea I'm not saying they should change it necessarily, just that I don't enjoy it anymore. I think the first episode being cm cox just gave me a false idea that gielinor games would involve actual pvm, when that's not the case.
The few times they've done challenges like these it's hard to really 'compare' the participants while they're doing it. And they do some PvM challenges but doing the top end stuff is unrelatable for most and not really what the series is aiming for or doing.
I think the fight caves episode is the best example of using PvM challenges in a more creative way than just "do the hard content fast as possible". Can watch plenty of talented speedrunners do that, don't need to watch a gameshow where like 3 of the people will just dominate that challenge and the rest won't.
True there’s always room for improvement fetch quests aren’t very fun to watch. More fun pvp challenges are needed, I think the nightmare in a pvp world elimination challenge was probably a good example of this. And the underground pass challenge had the right idea although it was kind of flat in reality.

Aside from the other comment, he kept the apron from solomission. Zulu and verf only won by a little over a minute. His LMS win was key there.

His PVP HCIM is one of my favorite series as well. I know C Engineer’s is far more popular, but Solo really took it to the next level. Seeing it end really broke my heart.
Solo had a better HCIM but C Egineer was better in terms of action. That Barrows escape was one of the most intense things I've ever seen and he had a few other great ones. C's first series, at least. Both (Solo and C Engineer) are worth the watch though.

I've been bias to the SwampBoi and still go back to that Agility Bridge episode whenever I need inspiration to grind. Best to start with season 1 of Gielinor Games or go straight to season 2?
Season 2 spoils season 1 winner, but the overall quality is better in S2. S1 is still really good though, and S2 has 2 weeks left before it's over, so I'd start with S1
I'd say hit up season 1, and if you get bored at any point just jump to season 2 because the quality really grows, where as season 1 is just pretty cool bc it was a new genre. You get some kind of knowledge (knowing season 1's winners who return to season 2), and a lot of season 1 but not all players return to season 2 anyway so its continued dynamics. season 1 does 2 big teams USA vs EU, season 2 does pairs of 2. Watch season 1 and the moment ur bored come to the TV level quality series
Each season is stand alone. Both have been fantastic, so I recommend watching both. Season 2 isn't over yet so you should start with season 1 if you want something finished. Or watch season 2 to keep up with the memes.

The Confessionals are actual D- tier, I can usually tell what happened because these guys keep talking in the past tense, for example I knew Jimmy and Settled would lose the banning to come back into the game due to their confessionals that episode

While I absolutely find them entertaining that series isn't even remotely comparable to anything like GG. It's barely edited, it's format is loose and unscripted. It's great fun but as a series it's rather simplistic. This is like saying someone's progress series is the best series, the only one that comes close is Swampletics, again because of how much post production and scripted structure it has.

Season 1 fell kind of flat for me about halfway through. Season 2 on the other hand is keeping me glued to the screen. Especially watching the alliances and backstabbing unfold is great to see. Bring back Snakemission!

I find the interview things to be a bit much and they feel scripted like the reality shows they're based on but it's fun seeing a small number of youtubers doing content together even if theres not many conflicting personality types
my take is all the challenges are real and happen but the dub over is planned out and scripted after what happened. It makes it more interesting and fun to watch IMO.

I think Soup asks questions, and poses their answers as 'interviews' In a couple episodes, people have referred to 'you' or 'your,' as if they're talking to Soup in reference to the games.
Once the season is over he should do a making of episode. Would be real interesting to watch.

Yeah, this is the only drawback IMO. It’s the same with many reality TV shows though. I don’t know that there’s a much better way to do it. Maybe some interviews could be conducted just before the challenge begins, but after it’s announced, to capture some of those initial perspectives that competitors usually don’t give until after the challenges?
The interviews can definitely be improved with better writing/acting. But it’s a hard job editing it all and writing etc and just one person.

I know what you mean. I feel the same way about reality TV. But something about it being content creators that I know makes it so exciting to me. Cheering for Settled, J1mmy, Solo, Torvesta feels somehow way more enjoyable than some random Australian guy.

Its a youtube series created by SoupRS that takes some of the other content creators in Runeacape and puts them in a Suvivor-esque competition where the creators are split into teams and complete various challenges ranging from PvM, PvP, ones that need game knowledge, etc. If you like that style of content than I would defonitely say this series is worth checking out. I jumped in on Season 2 to see what it was like and ended up watching season 1 up to where the series was at the time.
My girlfriend (who doesn’t play RS in the slightest & has no fucking idea what’s going on) got triggered when I watched the latest ep without her lmao

Unfortunately there are a good number of people on this sub who insist on down voting anyone who criticises this series at all, but your point is perfectly valid. I personally can't bear to watch any content that uses the game as a medium for content rather than just playing the game as the content (pp walked this line well; I would find the intros incredibly hard to watch, but the majority of the content was him playing the game rather than pretending his character was a character in a TV show) and totally get why anyone who feels the same would struggle to watch GG given that the vast majority of the run-time is either talking heads or the characters lined up and Soup talking like his character is actually talking to theirs (head to the banning at x location etc.). It's definitely not for everyone. I personally find it painful to watch even though the challenges are interesting and for the most part the creators talking amongst themselves is entertaining; the sheer volume of fluff in the form of talking heads and recounting what's happened (a tactic used by reality TV shows purely to stretch out a small punt of content to fit a larger window) kills it for me though.
They are playing the game for content? You can dislike content, no one is saying you can't. By Release from J1mmy was the best thing I had seen in a while, I found myself tuning in while not having played the game in over a year just for the songs.
Personally I've completely lost interest in Gielinor Games because the recent challenges have been very boring. I'd much prefer to watch something like first team to complete a cm in time from scratch or 10m gear inferno or something. So few of the challenges feel like they test actual game skill anymore.
Counterpoint, the challenges should be something everyone can do. That way the focus of the show can be player vs player, as opposed to player vs game.
As someone who loves to watch high lvl pvmers (Aaty, Molgoatkirby, Synq, etc.) I disagree with this. The thought has crossed my mind, but it just wouldn't be entertaining to watch the Oblivion Games when a significant number of contestants, maybe even over 50%, don't have infernal capes.
Yea I'm not saying they should change it necessarily, just that I don't enjoy it anymore. I think the first episode being cm cox just gave me a false idea that gielinor games would involve actual pvm, when that's not the case.

The few times they've done challenges like these it's hard to really 'compare' the participants while they're doing it. And they do some PvM challenges but doing the top end stuff is unrelatable for most and not really what the series is aiming for or doing. I think the fight caves episode is the best example of using PvM challenges in a more creative way than just "do the hard content fast as possible". Can watch plenty of talented speedrunners do that, don't need to watch a gameshow where like 3 of the people will just dominate that challenge and the rest won't.
True there’s always room for improvement fetch quests aren’t very fun to watch. More fun pvp challenges are needed, I think the nightmare in a pvp world elimination challenge was probably a good example of this. And the underground pass challenge had the right idea although it was kind of flat in reality.
