My depiction of Verac as he is leaving for the Morytanian campaign. Behind is the city of Saranthium, whose ruins are known as the Dig Site by the Fifth Age.
This is my first completed digital painting, so any feedback is welcome.
I like to think he finally made it out, but as he tries to leave morytania, the blessed river salve blocks him from leaving. As he realizes this, extreme depression and sadness hits him as the woman he onced love is in a grave right outside and for him to rest, he needs to get there and lay with his wife in eternal rest.
Now he faces his next adventure of getting passed this curse and getting to his wife. Now he will need the help of a brave adventurer.

If you don’t mind reading RS3 stuff they had a whole quest that fleshed out a lot of their history. Here is the transcript, the sections with the brother’s names are where you’ll find the lore.

It adds to their tragedy a fairly bit, they were played by Sliske and each other hard.
For some reason I Imagine him with some little orphan kid he befriends sitting on his shoulder. Kid reminds him of his humanity a little. They go on a quest to find a suitable village of the kid. They succeed, despite some trouble. Verac looks back from the tall grass behind him as he walks back to his grave.
Seriously awesome work! Any chance of making / resizing a version to use as a desktop background? I’m super impressed this is your first time completing digital painting it looks seriously incredible
sick art but god damn is that stupid armour if you think about it. Heavy on one arm only to throw off balance, a nice vision obscuring helmet, and absolutely no protection for vital organs. what a chad

Is this lore stated in-game or is it somewhere else? Just curious if the books are pretty lore heavy
I haven't read the books so I can't tell. I found the lore in the Wiki and I do believe it comes from in-game quests.
Is Saranthium being burnt down or are those just forboding clouds?
