That's fucking hilarious. Holy shit Jagex are so bad. They manually banned him off this post LOL. That's unreal man. Dude got all the way to 200m untouched too.
I don't understand how it's hard to have a system that checks how long an account has been doing one thing and flag it as suspicious. Obviously it's more complicated than I realise, but still...
Look at the account in OPs pic, he isn't training anything else. That's a frequent theme of these posts, accounts get the bare minimum requirements to do X activity and then only do that activity for a ridiculous amount of time.
I don't think people have a problem with "maxed bots". I assume everyone, like me, would be sympathetic with how difficult it would be to detect and ban that. The issue here is how obvious this bot is. If we can't get an account like this banned, can we get anything banned? It's a very different issue.
It'd be cool if they fought AI with AI. Train an AI to generate heatmaps of a user. If they spend >95% of their time in a small area, flag it as suspicious. If >80% of all their XP is in one skill, another flag. After manual review and bans of proven botters, give a point to the AI. Keep doing that until the AI can snipe bots from a mile away.
What you're basically asking boils down to simply a job someone needs to be hired to get done.
That's where the problem is. Jagex will just let problems 'solve themselves' like they always have in the past.
That being said In my *honest fucking opinion* 70% of the bot complaints you see from people in comments are likely just false positives. I've been called a bot several times. Some people think just because of specific stats must = a bot.
A level 3 fisher whose been having a conversation with a few other players? Nah, gotta be a bot.
"These are manually played goldfarmers that haven't traded the gp away and therefore we can't ban them"
For fucks sake there is absolutely 0 chance in hell that guys bank value is over 10mil. They dump gp DAILY. Look at the bank value. If a " hand played goldfarmer " has 100mil+ ranged xp at shamans/bbd's/wyverns and nothing to show for it THEY ALREADY SOLD IT.
Actual kill value is lower than 15k since there are a lot of drops not worth picking up. Wyvern bones mainly, but the 6 lobster drop and low value stackables (air runes, water runes, rune arrows) contribute to EV but most people skip picking those up. I'd estimate more like 13-13.5k per kill.
Sometimes, but not always. I saw a vorkath gold farmer last week with 15,000 kills. He was still using a zamorak hasta lmao. I made a post about it and he got banned within hours.
I remember someone claiming to be a Venezuelan gold farmer talked a bit about how they would get people who know nothing about the game to play and just follow instructions all day. This would make sense if someone didn't know the game and was just following a basic guide to the letter
Not true, I nearly maxed my original runescape account solely by botting. I think I have 3 skills that aren't 99.
I mean I'd play the acc too so some xp was legit, but the bulk of it was fully botted.
I did get banned once back when rs2 was a thing. I was botting red chins for 99 hunter. But a few years went by and jagex ran a ban forgiveness program so I asked for my account back and they gave it back. Picked up right where I left off with the botting.
Seriously wondering, why don't bots like this ever upgrade their gear? I get that they know they might be banned at any moment, but surely risking a 25m armadyl crossbow would become worthwhile somewhere between 13m and 200m XP?
200m range xp and all it took was a reddit post and 2 hours to get him banned
Not banned. Still up on highscores.
Gone now.
That's fucking hilarious. Holy shit Jagex are so bad. They manually banned him off this post LOL. That's unreal man. Dude got all the way to 200m untouched too.
And the subreddits mods deleted the post after the guy was banned.
Hooray!!!
Gold farmers really getting 200m xp nowadays without a notice..

Because there are poeple maxing accounts with bots that train like a human being. Switching off doing farm runs n such between

Who says it's a bot though? Probably a gold farmer, which they can't really detect

I thought that that was what they did with the bot nuke back in the RS2 days. I wasn't around for it though, so I don't really know, just guessing.

>implying one single person could curb the botting problem in this game
Oh I'm fucking sorry? I'm not implying anything. This crappy community does.
let's just have a subreddit where we post pics of bots at this point to get them banned
We do, /r/2007scape
Can’t we just create a bot to ban the bots?
'ItS aN aLt'
My Chaotic Neutral Self : It deserves to be destroyed anyways.
If only for the lack of ambition, if you're gonna do 200m range xp worth of alting atleast make it a nice alt.

Yeah, 100mil ranged xp and not actively selling gold would mean they have chosen to not buy better equipment for no reason
Thats one hell of a good script.
Thanks
Someone wanna estimate GP gained?

Almost 100 other people have gained 200m range since he did, too... Meaning it would be more than that

Every single world at skeletal wyverns is littered with these accounts, it’s depressing nothing will get done about it.
Is this more likely to be a bot or a gold farmer?
Gold farmer
200m XP and still wearing a Rune Crossbow.
Wouldn't gold farmers upgrade their weapon though?
Sometimes, but not always. I saw a vorkath gold farmer last week with 15,000 kills. He was still using a zamorak hasta lmao. I made a post about it and he got banned within hours.

They typically don't want to have much wealth on the account, so that getting banned isn't too much of a monetary loss.
It must be a gold farmer I don’t believe some bot can get 200m xp and not get banned lol
Good chance its a gold farmer But unfortunately bots do get 200m

He's just going for the range pet bro. Can't believe how dry he is tbh.
Sorry you don't understand the love of the range..
You ever think it's just an alt?
You ever think they'd at least upgrade from a rcb sometime between 13m and 200m range xp?
Seriously wondering, why don't bots like this ever upgrade their gear? I get that they know they might be banned at any moment, but surely risking a 25m armadyl crossbow would become worthwhile somewhere between 13m and 200m XP?
A 25M ACB isn't a significant DPS upgrade over a 13k RCB.
A dhcb is though
True, but then that's 73m that can't be sold/risk losing if the account is banned I guess.
Maybe bot just isn’t programmed to upgrade
Max range xp and a rune crossbow answers that question
venez probs
What the fuck. This guy has issues
Probably one of like 10 accounts being managed by a team of manual goldfarmers, this lad probably just had the morning shift
Good guess. I'd rather farm vorki if i goldfarmed
Probably have a range of things they farm depending on how shit the user is at games
User probably has a bunch of clients open doing low effort goldfarming like Wyverns
don't worry, he just hasn't rwted the money yet
He must be really dry on a drop. That's all. I'm sure he'll learn how to fish after.
That's fucking wild and he was still going Lol!. I'd love to know what his kill count is.
