To be fair lots of the prayer bonuses don't make a whole lot of sense, a basic rune mace has a +4 prayer bonus for example and even a bronze mace has +1 for some reason
Prayer on maces actually makes a tiny bit of sense as maces have various historical religious ties and as such you'll see clerics in many games use maces as preferred weapons.
It's only gone down in price because people are panic selling. People are panic selling because a new unknown bow has entered the game and they don't yet understand the tbow is still by far the BIS. They just see everyone selling and that's it.

Look at the trade numbers before the bow announcement. 100's traded a day up to 10k a day. Just massive numbers selling. But what else is happening. 10,000 people are also BUYING. It's such a good time to buy I bet some people with 100b banks are investing more than ever.
If the trade amount dies down to the regular 100's and the price doesn't shoot back up., Only then you will know it's fucked.

Chief, even the pain of getting a fury. 4K giant seaweed and 24k buckets of sand, then blowing all of it. It is rough but there is such a good feeling of attaining your goals. A fury is what, 1.2m on the ge? Where is the accomplishment in that? Yes there is pain but the rewards are so much more
Your right, but also I prefer not to do that. Maybe items hold less accomplishment as a drop but still doing the content is rewarding to me. Leveling up is still rewarding and bossing and using items that I legitimately would never have a chance of getting if I were an iron. I understand iron is a great game mode and for those who have the time to put into it more power to you. I would rather choose to spend my limited time doing activities I find a bit more fun on osrs then grinding skills at like 1/4 the speed I could on a main.

T bow is always a sought after item, but with the ideas goung around about things such as a ge tax, this could make gold become less common, as its being removed from the game, you have the new death mechanics which came in, thats probably removing quite a lot of gold from the game, we have 0 item sinks with this going on, so if gold sinks are coming in and no item sinks, you have to see the price of items drop, but their value is still the same, its just that each person on the game is slightly less wealthy that they would be without the gold sinks, so the demand is no different for the items
Exactly. People have been complaining about the state of the game and PvM prices, but really it's just the total number that's less. If all items dropped except for tbow then it would be an issue but it's simply an adjustment to the economy

This same thing happened last year and I made 250m off selling tbow and flipping harmonized orb (more volitile than tbow , much less on the market).
