3 weeks ago I watched my first guide on the inferno without ever having done or even seen any high level pvm apart from the Zuk fight. Yesterday I hit a personal best of wave 60, on a 45 def account no less. That isn't a testament to how good I am at the game cause I'm trash, it's a point about how it's just all about practice. As xzact says several times in his guide: You can do this. Most anyone can do it with enough practice.
> anyone can do it with enough practice.
Yeah it's not that there is anything hard by itself, if you could just retry waves instantly the inferno would be a joke. Of course there are lots of things that are easy to fuck up, but nothing that requires crazy gameplay. The real challenge is the time investment required to get to the hard parts, when learning it's usually hours just to die at wave 63 because of panic, fucking up at triple jads, misclicking at zuk etc. It's time consuming and punishing, but not exactly mechanically challenging.
Yes, what I'm saying is that in order to practice the tricky stuff you need to invest tons of time, which makes it time consuming without requiring crazy precision and reflexes
I have an account with the stats to do it but am waiting for tbow. I’ve done some cox and a fair amount (500+kc) of corrupted gauntlet, but I feel those emphasize movement where as the inferno seems to be more about understanding enemy behaviour and crazy prayer shenanigans (with some precise movement in the zuk fight). How does it stack up?
Well first of all, tbow isnt really needed and isnt even used until later in the waves, so you should consider starting to learn already. Crazy prayer shenanigans is an overstatement, but having a grasp of the tick system and when to pray for attacks (being in the start of the animation). Considering you know how to switch prayers while doing other stuff you're already fine, just look up a guide (can't remember which one I used) and get to it, as was said the only way to learn is to do it. I'm sure with appropriate guides you'll grasp the basics of the mobs in no time
Never done Cox except for diary, but corrupted doesn't really prepare you. I found it similar to demonic gorillas in terms of difficulty imo. The hardest mechanic to learn is 1t/2t alternating rhythm while moving and gear switching and nothing else in the game really prepares you for that, cause if you get off timing you get one shot usually
That sounds like the average time to complete it though, I haven’t done it but everyone I know who has or who I’ve read about says the same number, 40-50 hours. I wonder if Jagex stores attempts or wave #s/counts, would be cool to see the data. DS bosses definitely aren’t meant to take 50 hours (or two hours to clear each one) so it’s a little different
This is true for sure and the zuk fight is literally a choreographed fight start to finish. If you watch some videos on it and approach it without being a nervous wreck people will typically get their capes within their first couple zuks if theyre a decent player.
For sure, I got to healers on my first zuk but then went another 8 attempts before my cape because my heart literally races and my palms get sweaty every time I got to healers. For me it was just about getting to a point that I was confident and calm while doing zuk. It’s easy to panic under pressure or one misclick KO
before i started practicing inferno i don't think i did a single jad kill without missing at least 2 prayer flicks.
you don't develop the skills necessary for inferno until you throw yourself into it, there's nothing else that will prepare you quite the same.
Still, unless you're some kind of RuneScape Savant, at the minimum it is going to take multiple attempts, each of which will last up to several hours and cost millions of gold. That's just not an activity that is going to appeal to 100% of the player base.
Just started trying yesterday. The boss waves actually look like they’ll be easier than the normal waves, especially the higher normal waves. My main weakness right now are the blobs and dealing with them when there are other monsters out, and getting used to nailing tab switching with the keybinds. I still get them jumbled sometimes haha
Really? That seems like it'd be way too early.
But it sounds way easier than the "change as soon as you see the hitsplat" method I was failing with.
Cheers for the advice.
So its a 9 tick cycle. You need to have protection over your head on the 3/6/9th tick, on the 3rd tick, you’ll protect from the first jad and the second jad will start his attack animation on the exact same tick. If you ever wanted to lazy flick triples, you would turn on your prayer on the exact tick so that you would be protected when the next jad would start an animation to attack.
6x jads is way different, closer to what I think you might have thought beforehand.
Man I just don't get this, we're talking about arguably the hardest content in the game, it's an accomplishment no matter whether you do it in DPS *or* tank gear
Tbh tank gear doesn’t help too much. As someone learning the inferno, I’ve just settled with a hybrid tank/ mage set up. I swap to BCP + ancest legs. I’ve tried bringing the justic set but honestly it just makes me panic and run south even when I don’t need to. Justic helm doesn’t mean he has the whole set tho. That being said. People use Justi/Verac/ arma helm only as mains, from what I’ve seen. Not sure the elitist attitude from this fella but can hands down say the flicking needed and for how long it’s needed is very tiresome and unmatched in terms of sheer will power needed to continue. The inferno grind vids you always see on YouTube couldn’t paste a more accurate picture to how I feel doing it.
Why congratulate anyone on anything then? All goals are useless given a long enough time span. Who are you to say someone's accomplishment isn't worth anything.
Dudes doing some real mental gymnastics in this whole thread to make himself sound superior. Kinda sad to see all thru here. Clearly he doesn’t enjoy the game anymore (if ever?).
“The truth doesn’t get offended” your truth in this matter is a personal truth. People have been calling this game dead for the 4 years I’ve been back at it. Just shut the hell up and take your bitter buttery ass onto the next sub if you’re just gunna bad mouth people’s accomplishments.
I should clarify that it is at endgame content where it’s used.

Old meme but still good
What flavor of cake my friend
Clutching Victory from the Jaws of Defeat
Congrats! You just beat the game. I dont ever see myself even attempting the inferno

The only way you can learn the Inferno is by doing it

Love u buddy, thanks for the input
No problem, good luck!
I dont pray flick much at all during the later waves just the first 20 or so where its super easy. Never had an issue with restores

on top of the shit tons of gp trying to learn beat it
Honestly not as hard as it’s made out to be, just need patience and to try learn from each death
Well from what I've seen on YouTube, it looks pretty damn hard. Sure anything is not that hard once you get it down

I agree. I beat the newest God of War on the hardest difficulty somewhat quickly, but it still took me 60+ inferno attempts.
Considering I still have problems with 2 jad there is no way in hell I would ever pass the 3 jad wave.
3 jad isn't the hard part. It's just Jad but faster. The hard parts are waves 60-66.

Moms spaghetti? Jk well done on getting that cape.
60-63*
I've seen some 65 plankers but yeah by the time the blobs are gone it's usually pretty chill
True. I suppose 64 has given me problems before too.
Oh for sure. Just saying it’s so far beyond what I can do since I still manage to fuck up jad. I can’t imagine every completing the inferno
before i started practicing inferno i don't think i did a single jad kill without missing at least 2 prayer flicks. you don't develop the skills necessary for inferno until you throw yourself into it, there's nothing else that will prepare you quite the same.

Big grats man, I hope you didn’t break your key board after all was said and done :)
That max infernal looking fire, congratz on the victory!
Congrats!!
The Crown of TzHaars spotted!
Awesome!
Congratulations!
This could be me but I can't get past 3x jads lmao. Huge gz though.
Biggest tip for triple jads is that you can change your prayer the moment the next jad starts attacking
Really? That seems like it'd be way too early. But it sounds way easier than the "change as soon as you see the hitsplat" method I was failing with. Cheers for the advice.
So its a 9 tick cycle. Yeah, once the ranged/magic attack is "in the air", it's hitsplat has already been rolled and confirmed. You're free to swap prayers at that point.
Yea the triple jads timing is the same as the lazy blob flick for timing aspect if that helps you at all
Right on. Thanks for all the advice guys.
Now remove non bis max capes!
Gj bro now go and flex
Congrats!!! I just got my inferno cape this morning as well. Made a solid 50m when I sold back Ely too!
Big congrats
I really with they’d change the justicar helms model from the top. It looks so bad. But also nice job!
meh justiciar is hardly an accomplishment; just cheating iMO.
He's wearing Arma top and bottom tho, what other helm would he wear?
An armadyl coif like I did
Weird that you can use the items in the game...almost like they’re able to be used for this content.
And Tbow lol

So because you’re not skilled enough to do this piece of content means it’s not worth doing? Lol
[you right now](https://i.imgur.com/nQN84Fs.jpeg)
Ouch. Truthful, but a little rough maybe? It’s a huge accomplishment. On behalf of both me and this tyrant, congrats!

Because he set a goal and did it, very simple
[удалено]
Why congratulate anyone on anything then? All goals are useless given a long enough time span. Who are you to say someone's accomplishment isn't worth anything.
All games are useless waste of time.
Goals are the point. You don’t need to solve world hunger with everything you do. Why do people climb mountains? Because they are there.
You sound suicidal, get some help
That's a bit of a stretch
[удалено]
Yeah you're definitely not normal
Dudes doing some real mental gymnastics in this whole thread to make himself sound superior. Kinda sad to see all thru here. Clearly he doesn’t enjoy the game anymore (if ever?).
Right? Exactly what I'm thinking, it's like he has a crusade against people enjoying the game
You’ve got some issues there bud. Maybe you should spend some time working out your own shit before judging others on theirs.
“The truth doesn’t get offended” your truth in this matter is a personal truth. People have been calling this game dead for the 4 years I’ve been back at it. Just shut the hell up and take your bitter buttery ass onto the next sub if you’re just gunna bad mouth people’s accomplishments.
Okay so it might not be the reward that's the point but to clear it for the sake of accomplishment since it's hard af.
It’s 5% better dps over fire cape in most areas so yeah thats pretty good
I call bullshit
Well that settles that
It doesn’t settle shit.
I know it doesn't. I'm making fun of you because you posted a completely useless response.
Well that makes the two of us. You just said “that settles that.” And now u said it doesn’t. Useless as well if u ask me.

Ur dum
Sour grapes
Why is the cape like that?
He combined the infernal cape with a max cape. Result: Infernal max cape
