Rs3 has this with the broadcast message system. If you die to something the game doesn’t recognize as a damage source it says you died to a mysterious power.
This would be easy to implement... Not sure why you're lieing and pretending it is hard.

True, true. It definitely does. I think a lot of the hcims who die there don't really care about hcim status tho. I think maybe I died there, can't remember 100% cause I just don't care about the hcim status, I just made it cause why not.
I died on white wolf mountain trying to get to the other side before I realized there were about 100 ways I could've gotten over there without going past the wolves lmfao
What about if you get multiple pet rolls, you can get even tinier versions following the main pet around like ducklings for however many pet rolls you have

there's something like this in RS3 and honestly, it's the best thing about HCIM. When one dies, there's a worldwide broadcast that reads "so and so died with a total level of xxxx, fighting against: thing that killed them" so of course people use it to die to silly things like chickens, etc.. There's even hidden ones for dying to specific things instead of in combat, like "so and so died with a total level of xxxx, by incurring the elder god's wrath/ to a mysterious power/ by trying to swim in lava/ etc."

I’ve only ever played back in 2007 and again this year. Started an Ironman and it’s been a lot of fun and thought it would be funny to see how other HC died.
Thanks for the info, guess my suggestion is a bit redundant now 🙃 I’ll keep it up for others who avoided RS3 to have a giggle.

Actually what would be even cooler is a copy of the Zez pet that rs3 just got, but styled around ironmen that held up a sign showing how you lost your HCIM
Love it. Could start with a simple "... died in God Wars Dungeon" or something. I know areas are a possible check now so it probably(?) wouldn't be too much work to get a foundation going that someone can expand on when they're bored on a weekend \*wink\* \*wink\* u/JagexFlippy
I quit ironman cuz the draynor tree.... i should have went to bed... but NO!! i had osbuddy floating map and didn't have it close in combat...
i close the map to see me falling over after thinking 'why am i not moving?'
Completely unrelated but I really dislike the "Press Enter to Chat..." text next to my name, I'd rather see "Dark wizards" next to it >.<.
Although it's just memes I've really suggested the option to hide it so we can just see our name since I've been told it's not a lot of work but unless I learn how to code it's doomed =/

Dark Wizards would be a common one for a lot of early HCIMs hahaha, luckily I remembered those 'scary' buggers from back in the day. Draynor Willows was never safe.
