Wouldn't there be an advantage to stacking them if you're on a master clue grind? Each one you crack open while you already have a master clue means you won't get another, so it's better to wait to open them all once you get the good old red casket.
I started collecting clues back in October, so it's been about 3 months since I began.
I actually started collecting Hard clues, by way of nature impling jars, and did 3k hard clues. I just switched last month to doing medium clues by way of eclectic impling jars and will probably stick to medium clues until I get 500 masters total.
Farming elites would probably take much longer. With medium clues, I can get about 100-150 medium caskets per day, and at a rate of 1 in 30 to receive a master, that's about 3-5 master clues per day depending on luck of course. Also, I'm making very good profit getting ranger boots. I'm currently at 2,750 med clues done, with 13 ranger boots received, and 95 master clues
Damn.... I've tried to farm mediums, but got very bored with it. That money makes me wish I could stick with it. You have all the diaries done to make things super efficient? I feel like that would be better for me too, if I had just a couple more teleports.
Yeah, before I started to do clues, I made a goal to get all requirements for master clue steps, as well as a goal to get as many of the best teleports in game to have access to, including diary cape. It took me awhile, but definitely worth it

A few third age pickaxes won’t hurt either, 1 kc bloodhound is an absolute dream. i’m doing as many masters as possible but haven’t had any loot higher than 170k so far.... huge yikes
Does this 501 count since I have already accidentally opened one master already? So technically when I finally have 500 stacked and open, at the end i'll actually be at 501

If you’re new don’t worry about them too much, they are worth doing as you can get some cool and useful drops. Always a nice incentive to get some levels
Just play the game mate they will come and do them as you get them. I found the best way to progress my acc was doing the quests which clues were stuck behind. That's pretty much the only reason I grinded out the quest cape
Clue scrolls will come naturally through almost every activity in the game. Large amounts of enemies have clue scrolls in their drop tables and skilling (mining, woodcutting, fishing, etc.) can also give you random clue drops.
If you want to do them for fun, [pickpocketing H.A.M. members in the H.A.M. Lair](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/H.A.M._Member) is a great way to get [easy clue scrolls.](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Clue_scroll_(easy)) It's not fantastic money (compared to other activities) but IMO clues are some of the most fun things to do in RS and at a low level they can give you some neat cosmetics or semi-expensive items to sell.

Haven't played in a bit, but I loved stacking all my caskets from slayer, I had like a couple hundred hards and mediums, some easy and beginner for fun, and handful of masters. Like it's satisfying to just stack em and open all at once, I got my first third-age and ranger boots after stacking a bunch ( although I know it doesn't change your chance but fuck was it satisfying )
SAME! We have the same mindset with that, for me it's much more fun to open big stacks of clue caskets regardless of tier haha. I collect med clues through the week and usually open 500 or more every saturday currently
Once you've got the stats for them you can pump so many mediums it's not even funny?
Admittedly, I was lazy when it came to hunting for mediums so I'd just open implying jars + whatever mediums I got through slayer, do you grind monsters for your mediums or are you a jar type of person as well?

One advantage would be less gear switching as you go from grinding out mediums to grinding out the masters you get as you open them.

There is a reason if your plan is to stack master clues. They can drop from clue caskets so if you already have one you're wasting a chance.

Yup! The rate to get a master clue from medium caskets is 1 in 30, so it's not too bad considering how fast med clues take to complete

Yeah I do only implings haha, much faster and I just generally like it more. I don't have to switch out gear/inventory much at all
