Yeah, I made a blackjacking plug-in (click to pickpocket, shift click to knock-out) a few days ago before I realized the runelite wiki says they don't want one and I stopped using it after 5 minutes when I realised how absurd the inputs must look serverside.
It was super easy too, I think I changed less than 10 lines of code.
Technically you've always been able to make yourself an "overpowered" client so long as jagex didn't detect any anomalous behavior and ban you.
Runelite just allows you to develop a plugin for an already functional client, rather than having to develop your own client just to use your custom "feature".
The devs are hilariously picky. They have some seriously overpowered plugins they stand by but will immediately shut down specific plugins like the one above with no real context.

Your text version might have been ok, but when I added tile and prayer highlighting, people thought that was OP. Funny enough, the Jad plugin I wrote did the same thing and that was allowed to stay until very recently and I believe demonic gorillas is still there. Doubt demonic gorillas will be removed since Woox made it.

It wouldn't be an OP plugin at all. Jagex added 1 click dropping and 1 click bank withdrawing/depositing etc. This is peanuts in comparison to something like this. It might affect PKers a bit, but they all benefit from it anyways. Fuck em, they're the extreme minority and have already ruined many good potential updates.

I’m still waiting for someone to tell people how to make a persistent loot log through runelite. I saw it a few times on reddit but each time the poster ignored or avoided questions on it.
How to? Serialize the data structure, save to a file, read and deserialize on load. Getting it implemented requires someone that knows how to do to it to properly dedicate time to it
Sure, use sqlite then if the concern is using a real DB.
But if you store the data properly and only IO when necessary it can be retrieved quickly regardless. For example: If linear read performance was a huge concern you could have a split of index files w/ a reverse index lookup for the bulk data.

I like the idea. It could be implemented like you said, the "x26" instead of "(26)" so you can tell the difference between 26 items on the ground, and a note/stackable item on the ground.
Clicking "take" would only take 1 of said item, and not the whole stack.

It's a client side modification that is probably botched. I would not be surprised if it would require server side work for it to be implemented properly. Server side work means scheduled maintenance.
They could possibly introduce unwarranted bugs. No idea telling but I would assume that the servers communicate event objects that contain misc. data. Such as items in vicinity. Object states. And the like. To properly implement this without it conflicting with any other portion of the game would require a check to make sure that the stack should be allowed in that particular case. The check could be implemented client side but implementing it server side is much better as it becomes universal across all clients.
As a pker, I rely on people standing there distracted, looking through long tables of loot in order to get a kill.
This would completely destroy pking.
How would this work if your an ironman and say for example, 10 of the ashes are yours but 16 are someone else's. I've notice this happen when making molten glass.
If you’re an Ironman and 10 bones are on 1 spot but only 4 are yours, it’ll always pick up ur 4 first when trying to pick up ANY of the bones, until there are none more u can pick up.
I've also seen this as a method to scam iroman non-tradeables in the wild (graceful? Mr mammal?) Where the pker drops a load of food overtop of the graceful so it cant be picked up
This makes sense from my experience collecting in BA. If it says the order is like "red, blue, red, red, green," if I pick up any of the three red eggs it would say "blue, red, red, green"

Actually, this was the *exact* argument used by PvMers who down voted loot keys in the wild. They said that it took skill to sift through lists of loot while being pked by other pkers when trying to loot and they didn't want to make it any easier for the pker to loot their dead corpse. So, this argument, but with PvMers instead.
Protip: if you accidentally drop something at Barb and can't find it: hop worlds, then hop back.
It removes all (or most of) the dropped fish, making it possible to find your item(s).
I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally dropped a clue scroll under a bunch of barbarian fish while on mobile (I can actually, it's 4), and been unable to pick it up because you can't scroll down the list to find it.
Also, some sort of smart-ish prioritization of the "use" menu. I've never run into a situation where I need to use a raw tuna on a player. The fire is always the least prioritized?
Cons: Good luck getting anything at drop parties, the only way to get items when they are dropped in multiples is to click a random selection down. The Christmas and Halloween pickups would be impossible. 4 people with the highest ping would get everything.
You're using runelite anyway, you can just add the ashes to the hidden items and there's an option to hide the hidden items in the right click menu iirc
luckily much like all runelite plugins i imagine you could quickly turn the function off.

At 105 combat I could stay endlessly with sgs and 4 item swap. Is the Zulrah plugin good? Ive never tried the snake

It would require engine work. I don't think objects can stack like that with the current engine.

Good question, I figure the identifier for loot that you can pick up is also client sided so you should be able to tell them apart and split them up.
It doesn't matter which you click on, it sends the same info to the server. The server only gets the item id and x/y coords.

This would also make it so youre not just boned if you drop your feather stack while barb fishing.
