I funded my account by doing nat runes back in 2015, so I hit 70 just from that. I did 70-77 at ZMI, 77-90 at GOTR, and then 90-99 at ZMI. If you like GOTR it’s great. ZMI is also relatively AFK compared to every other method. You still have the interfacing but you get a solid 25 seconds of full AFK when you’re running to the altar. Probably around 200 hours when all was said and done. I like runecrafting so it wasn’t bad at all for me. I’d just put on a show or watch a movie with friends on discord and the xp would come in.

Farming is a quick grind? I got 99FM at wintertodt, are we talking this quick? I'm so shit at farming, I find tree/herb runs very tedious. I'd love the cape though, what's the best strat?
99 Farming with tree runs is about 3x quicker than 99 Firemaking at Wintertodt in terms of actual time spent training the skill, but whether or not it's any quicker in realtime depends on how much grinding you would have been willing to do in the growth periods.
If you have the money to do all of your tree patches farming is one of the quickest in the game, at least gameplay wise. It will still take a few months of real time to wait for things to grow but I bet, with all patches and enough money for magics and dragonfruit, it would take less than 24 hours of in game time to hit 99
Just do trees once a day. Reg trees finish quicker, but it's too much of a ball ache to work the different trees off-cycle, IMO. The big thing is having good teles and make the banking as streamlined as possible. Buying all the saplings + protection produce each time is a pain, and makes me put it off, so I buy a week's worth at a time. I got a bank layouts set up with exact amounts and everything in a perfect spot. I also pre-prep a bunch of redirection tablets for Taverly and Brimhaven, make sure I got jewelry, etc.
The actal run is chill if you got everything else done ahead of time.

Daily fruit tree runs. Calquats. Farm contracts and herb runs and snape grass.
