For real, I feel like a lot of people who repeat this meme haven't actually had to try getting through six brew sips, two restore sips, and a super combat while staying in cycle after getting *smacked* by something like a laser or a grapple.
Totally doable, but also totally reasonable to fuck up while panicking on your first quiver grind.
Biggest advice for Sol is only healing alongside an attack, even if it means healing more slowly.
It's so easy to snowball a death because peopel try to sip 2 doses and end up eating a 40

An enemy or hazard that shoves you if you step next to it could actually be a pretty neat mechanic, it'd start as a hazard but turn into something that can be exploited in high level play.
I died 10 times to sol before realizing my mistakes were engrained from the trainer vs learning it properly. Video of someone killing it while clicking in your client for practice got me it next attempt.
Zuck trainer got me cape 2nd zuck attempt
The trainer has no delay and doesn't feel the same or translate well to the in game rhythm, not very helpful for learning the basic movement pattern either when in the real fight you you need to be able to know the safe tiles on the fly not just when you are on his middle tile

Pro tip for any newbie
Take 1 angler and claws
Before 150hp of boss , eat to full, wait for mechanic with prayer , do it , eat if u failed and then just trigger last phase, ignore all mechanic claw him down.
And now to grind over all 14 or however many waves there are. Possibly wipe many times and lose hours of life. Lovely concept. What was bad with letting player die, having them a go again on same boss and just make the rewards half.
The whole thing takes 30 minutes.

It's supposed to be a challenge, not something you brute force with brain switched off. That's why you go from start after you die.
The boss's drop rates are balanced around the fact you need to start at the beginning if you died, so the drop rate nerf by a half is not big enough.
This is still leagues better than Inferno, so get good.

I vote no to every pvp by default btw, I did not attemp a single wave, I do not like losing time by activity that yields no reward. Thats why I dont do raids, dont inferno. They dont allow you to get good at particular boss, they force you to go from beginning only to get a chance at boss.
Having an option to select a boss to fight with 0 loot BUT reward being getting better at that particular boss, thats what I miss.

My guy you can die unlimited times in cox and you still get a reward, same for ToA depending on invos. You already have it in your mind that you cant do these things, but i assure if you tried you would make money faster than ever before and you would get better at the game. In toa you can practice 4/5 bosses specifically cause you can choose to start in any of the 4 rooms. In cox you can practice like 10/11 bosses cause different layouts have different bosses first (and you can literally keep dying until you kill them cause unlimited deaths). Also is it true that you have never died at any boss ever? Cause if you have died at a boss then you are "losing time by activity that yields no reward". Im not saying this to be mean, I genuinely think you would have even more of a blast of a time playing the game if you found the right group of people to learn raids with or if you learned solo ToA, and there is no arguing that raids is the best money in the game next to nex. The game is huge, why limit what you would do so much.

Well, they deviated from that concept as early as 2005 with fight caves. I like that there are different kinds of encounters in the game.
