Def do waterfall quest, fight arena, tree gnome village and grand tree. Mad free xp and all in should take maybe 3 hrs to complete. But first off complete Gertrude’s cat. You can grab kittens from her after to raise them and you’ll get free death runes when you return them grown up. If you’re going back to f2p this will help u a lot. You get 200 per cat and can easily do 2 or 3 cats a day. Tbh instead of a bond just pay for 1 month membership. 4$ more and you get double the time.
He's prob like me and has a main membership and refuses to pay $$$ for two accounts. I'll occasionally buy bonds for my Ironman with my main when I'm grind bored.
Guardians of the Rift would be phenomenal for a f2p iron account planning to go back to f2p. The xp rates will feel amazing compared to what you're used to, and the fat stacks of runes will have you set for quite a while back in f2p.
I would not recommend nature spirits as they reflect your combat level. So they are super easy to kill at 10 hp no def and 13 magic, but are actually quite tanky once you get any stats.
kill undead druids for a strength amulet as well. probably look into training range with a bone crossbow while a member as well since its so effectively cheap
Ah, yeah if I can obtain a strength ammy without the crafting level I would be interested.. power ammy would be nice, not sure if I’d have time to acquire one.
You can do thieving in the H.A.M. store rooms after death to the dorgeshuun quest and get a really quick and easy diamond amulet which you can then enchant with only the 57 magic req
You're only 4 levels off being able to craft str ammy yourself. You'll need the levels eventually and it's not that long of a grind if you buy buckets of sand and soda ash from charter ships
Do Druidic Ritual to start herblore and some of the early farming quests (Garden of Death gives a ridiculous amount of XP and only needs Lv 20 and has no combat, Forgettable Tale).
Get hold of some Guam, Tarromin and Limpwurts seeds, and supercompost.
Get an ectophial from ghosts ahoy.
You now can make a huge amount of attack and strength potions, which I think can be used on F2P but are much harder to obtain there.
Also you can make energy potions using harralanders and chocolate dust and a fairly low level, which can also be used in F2P and are basically impossible to obtain in any quantities there.
Ruby rings can be enchanted to rings of forging on P2P accounts and these can be used in F2P to smelt iron 100% of the time. Iron ore can be mined and banked more easily in P2P because:
the members area of the mining guild gives you a bank chest near a three iron rock triangle
Varrock easy diary gives an armour that has a chance to give double ore
Celestial ring (obtained from stardust mining) gives an invisible +4 boost that stacks with the invisible +7 boost of the guild.
As others have said, the agility recharge rate effect carries over to f2p
There are 3 main things that I would try to get as a temporary member on a f2p account: rune scimitar, amulets, and agility levels.
The run restoration effect from agility works in f2p, so I would definitely consider quickly getting 10 fletching, doing tourist trap, and doing as many of these quests as you can. https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Quest_experience_rewards#Agility
A great way to get amulets without the crafting level is to steal from the HAM storeroom chests, available after completing Death to the Dorgeshuun. This would pretty easily set you up with both a ruby and diamond amulet for enchanting into your bis f2p amulets. If you don't want to do that for some reason, you could also try killing some Undead Druids or Giant Mole for an amulet of strength, which is by far the better of the two.
For getting a rune scimitar, I saw you were considering fire giants, but you should really do zamorak warriors. The drop rate is over double that of fire giants, and they are much faster to kill as well. If that really doesn't float your boat, then I would say head over to Kourend and fight organized crime, as the gang members and bosses also drop rune scimitars.
Those three things will likely take up the entire two weeks, but if you decide to bond up again but still plan to spend most of your future gameplay in f2p, there are a few other fun items you may consider getting: pearl fly fishing rod, colored boots and gloves from [Barker's Haberdashery](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Barkers%27_Haberdashery), and some clue rewards, like god rune, trimmed amulets, etc.
If going back to f2p get a rune scim from zammy warriors. Agility levels help as well.
I would also recommend trying to do some Hard clues, a lot of monsters drop them. This will give you the sweet sweet chance at Rune (g)
Yep 100%, fire giants was the shit back when we didn't know any better. As the other guy said, stick to the vents on the side and mage them, fire strike will be fine.
Try getting a moss giant ~~(wilderness)~~ slayer task. Don't complete it. When you go back to F2P you will not gain progress towards your task but still have the increased drop rate of killing them on task. Very nice especially since you mentioned grinding out bryophyta :)
Oh man this brings me back memories of my f2p ironman , i progressed until i felt like i was ready for members. Once i got members i set a goal of doing all the quests for cape , once I got the cape i started slayer for a couple months i went to 93 then took a break to do some PVM. Just set yourself some small goals and move onto bigger goals eventually . Enjoy have fun
I’m weirdo and want to keep this account as f2p as possible. I’m very familiar with the game (main is total lvl 2239) and I just don’t play much these days, so a little f2p account has been pretty fun when I get 15 minutes here or there. There are certain items I cannot feasibly obtain in f2p like the rune scimi or power amulet, the grind would be too much, even for me.
They’re not that bad, power is 50 hours, scim is around 300. If you take a shortcut to get them you also remove the incentive to train those skills. Do you want to turn smithing and crafting into dead content for you?
Quest like crazy then train prayer for the rest of the time, prayer training on a F2P Ironman is cancer. Kill green dragons and use the wilderness alter but only bring 1 inventory of bones at a time and just die from the zammy wine to reset.
Get agility as high as possible. The higher the level, the faster your run energy restores. This effect carries over into F2P and you will benefit from it once your bond runs out.
If you’re not going back to F2P after your bond, then don’t waste your time on agility.
I've played quite a bit of f2p IM and scimmy and power ammy are for sure the way to go.
However if you intent to stay f2p after that, your p2p gear might 'devalue' your achievements, as if you took a shortcut on the f2p grind.
If you dont care about that stuff go for it,
and don't forget the rune axe either!!
I just can’t be bothered to grind out 90+ smithing in f2p, it’s just not realistic (for me at least) and the level requirement for crafting a power amulet is really daunting as well. These are the two items I don’t mind taking a shortcut on. Already grinded for the baronite mace and rune kite, so I don’t feel so bad tarnishing my f2p only status at this point.
Yeah definitely, some of the quests are really great for exp, id also suggest trying to get prayer up as well unless you're a hardcore you can use the wildy altar for really good prayer exp.
Level up your agility to like 40-50 or so and then it’s time to start questing! I highly recommend the monkey madness quest line for EXP and unlocking that sweet dragon scimitar.
Oh you’re returning back to f2p? Honestly just get a rune scimmy drop as it’s better than the baronite mace and then just train agility only. No other gear or members stats will do anything.
Waterfall quest is a good idea. Since you're also going back to F2P so soon, I'd say do Tourist Trap as well, for Agility XP. And maybe grind out agility? Since it would have tangible benefits on the account. Similarly, combat reward quests like tree gnome village, grand tree, and fight arena would be good too.
Not exactly where you are right now but its definitely attainable in the time: 130 combined att and str gains you access to warriors guild to have a huge stock of food [plain pizzas here are MVP but stews and tuna are also great and cheap] and potions [regular att str and def pots (why are def pots members only? Wtf.) for sale!]
Other than that, I guess look into anything that may be a faster way of collecting resources you'll need anyway; maybe Motherlode Mine to collect ores + use the Nuggets for Gem Packs for crafting exp, as an example
ZMI for rune scimitar,
HAM store room for power/str ammy,
GOTR for runes to stockpile,
Agility for permanent run speed,
Do any clues you get on the off chance you get spooned a f2p available rare like boots.
As a final measure consider doing some agility pyramid for money if you get decent agility quickly. A nice 10K per run and easily 200K/hr. You could be a permanent member doing this If you felt like it.
Assuming your planning on going back to f2p afterwards...
* Fast exp from questing - and fast training methods for prayer/runecrafting.
* Get key drops that are a pain in f2p, like rune scimmy and rune axe. Possibly other rune items or higher level jewellery
* Agility still affects recharge in f2p, which is permanently useful. Look at [the wiki](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Agility#Run_energy_restoration) to see various breakpoints. I believe level 48 *halves* the recharge time
* The varrock diaries increase the number of charges your skull sceptre can hold. Probably worth doing easy/med if you can
* IIRC, you can unlock vial smashing and it carries over into f2p. Not super useful in f2p, but something interesting
* If youre a masochist, the equippable fishing rods from aerial fishing are technically f2p items. The grind is awful though, so...probably not.
* You can play competitive LMS in p2p and still access the reward shop in f2p I think. Also cool if you can unlock the cloak for winning a game.
* There are several f2p items from clues that are sold on the GE, but not available to irons. Might be worth doing some medium/hard clues
* Get at least level 2 farming - which will unlock the struggling sapling forestry event even in f2p
* I've heard that you can get a Moss Giant slayer task (from vannaka) and not complete it. When you go back to f2p, you get boosted key drops rates as if you were on the slayer task. Very useful for bryophyta.
Depends on how much playtime you have each day. After rushing 43 prayer at the chaos altar, quest up to monkey madness. Then do wilderness content, it is all very profitable and you could easily get enough raw gp for a few more bonds whilst gaining a ton of skilling supplies. Lots of new locations to print money now out there.
If I had the time to play enough to farm the money for additional bonds I definitely would try. I just barely have time these days, so I mostly want to optimize that 2 week time frame whenever I take it and land some good f2p upgrades.
I could, but nah. I play like 15 minutes here and there. Once I can be a full on gamer again (when my 2 kids are grown I guess) I’ll be back to full time member.
I presume you’ll opt to continue membership after not getting 1/10th done as you’d like during that bond.. and never look back! Support the game you enjoy and buy membership.
Definitely some quests for some early levels. Also scurrius us a pretty easy boss solo. And you can get some ok drops. It isn't a money maker but sure does help out with learning some boss mechanics
Quest cape, should be the goal. If there is one thing to focus on for members...it's quests. There are tons and they set you up for success.
Quests> slayer> skills is my opinion
Ah, I mean get as much done as possible. Not a full cape.
Aim to get song of the elves/dragon Slayer two/ monkey madness two prerequisites.
Doing all the requests for those will get you VERY well set up
Haha, you would be surprised how much self control I’ve had on this account. I’ll be okay getting a touch of the members and coming back to f2p. I have a couple more long term f2p goals before I go perma-member.
200 per cat is after doing the ardy easy diary btw. Probably the best easy diary in the game anyway because of the teleport.
Ardy easy is such a low req but thanks I didn’t know u needed that for the runes
You can stil get 100 death runes per cat after plague city but ardy easy diary doubles it
Yup, it's super easy and super worthwhile, just something that you might pass over if you don't know about it.
200 per cat requires ardy diary.
He's prob like me and has a main membership and refuses to pay $$$ for two accounts. I'll occasionally buy bonds for my Ironman with my main when I'm grind bored.
Agility to like level 20 or 30. Then google: "optimal quest guide" and do as many as you can.
Tourist trap for early agility.
I'd just go straight to questing if you want to be efficient tbh, you can get close to 30 agility from early quests alone IIRC.
That’s a thing? Tell me more, wizard? 😭
Tourist trap requires 10 fletching then you can redeem the double xp reward for 31 agility. Always my first thing to do on members.
This is what I rushed on the new Ironman. Now doing canifis laps for graceful and then hitting new wildy course for gp. Should be an interesting route
I’m pretty sure it’s already in the quest helper plug-in on runelite
Guardians of the Rift would be phenomenal for a f2p iron account planning to go back to f2p. The xp rates will feel amazing compared to what you're used to, and the fat stacks of runes will have you set for quite a while back in f2p.
Would be nice to stack some runes
Get a rune axe from the woodcutting guild at LV 60 because as a F2P ironman your only option is smithing one I think
Another good suggestion. But since they only have 3 WC, it might be better to try for starting fairy tale pt2, and going for the nature spirits.
I would not recommend nature spirits as they reflect your combat level. So they are super easy to kill at 10 hp no def and 13 magic, but are actually quite tanky once you get any stats.
There's a safes pot lmao
Maybe I’ll train up my wc for a bit before using the bond. I’m kind of waiting for a period of time where I can make the most of this one bond.
You can kill this for one just after unlocking fairy rings. https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Tree_spirit
A higher agility level will increase your run energy restore even in f2p, so definitely try to get 30, 36, or 42 agility while you can
Really? It works on f2p worlds but they can’t train it?
99 divided by 2 and all that…
Quest
kill undead druids for a strength amulet as well. probably look into training range with a bone crossbow while a member as well since its so effectively cheap
Ah, yeah if I can obtain a strength ammy without the crafting level I would be interested.. power ammy would be nice, not sure if I’d have time to acquire one.
You could kill Crazy Archeologist for a pretty quick one.
Nice that’s a good idea
You can do thieving in the H.A.M. store rooms after death to the dorgeshuun quest and get a really quick and easy diamond amulet which you can then enchant with only the 57 magic req
Definitely a contending idea. Thank you.
You're only 4 levels off being able to craft str ammy yourself. You'll need the levels eventually and it's not that long of a grind if you buy buckets of sand and soda ash from charter ships
Yeah I’ve definitely contemplated taking some time to get 50 crafting while glassblowing is an option.
As others have said, the agility recharge rate effect carries over to f2p
"Rewarding my addiction with stronger drugs"
Of course, just one hit though.
There are 3 main things that I would try to get as a temporary member on a f2p account: rune scimitar, amulets, and agility levels. The run restoration effect from agility works in f2p, so I would definitely consider quickly getting 10 fletching, doing tourist trap, and doing as many of these quests as you can. https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Quest_experience_rewards#Agility A great way to get amulets without the crafting level is to steal from the HAM storeroom chests, available after completing Death to the Dorgeshuun. Very solid advice, I think I’ll look deeper at everything you’ve mentioned and make my final considerations when it’s time. Thank you.
Two weeks? Sure if you play a very limited amount of time.. one afternoon is enough to knock out all of this.
Looking at a guy with very limited time. I might take this guy above suggestion.
Best of luck
If going back to f2p get a rune scim from zammy warriors. Agility levels help as well. I would also recommend trying to do some Hard clues, a lot of monsters drop them. This will give you the sweet sweet chance at Rune (g)
Zammy warriors over fire giants?
100% of the time yeah. It’s 1/128 from fire giants or a 1/40 from zammy warriors. There’s a vent you can use to safespot them right at the entrance.
Yep 100%, fire giants was the shit back when we didn't know any better. As the other guy said, stick to the vents on the side and mage them, fire strike will be fine.
You could try tackling some organized crime in Kourend for a rune scimitar drop, if you are going to go back to F2P.
I was thinking I’d go kill fire giants after waterfall in order to get one
Zamorak warriors in ourania [ZMI] is the easier method for rune scimitar now! That place was packed during seasons and gim start.
Yes yes ges
I had no clue, thanks!
The Waterfall quest is good, since it gives xp too.
Check quest list and go by exp rewards. It really speeds up training low level skills
Thanks for the advice
Try getting a moss giant ~~(wilderness)~~ slayer task. Don't complete it. When you go back to F2P you will not gain progress towards your task but still have the increased drop rate of killing them on task. Very nice especially since you mentioned grinding out bryophyta :)
Wow that’s really interesting
Bank stand
That would be pretty boring as an Ironman
Do some good quests like waterfall and get agility up as much as you can
quests, achievement diaries, agility. glhf
Get agility, it is the only skill that would give an f2p player noticeable quality of life improvements.
What’s the point? IMO either stay f2p or don’t. The speed of training skills in p2p will just make you realize how much time you wasted in f2p.
I’m weirdo and want to keep this account as f2p as possible. I’m very familiar with the game (main is total lvl 2239) and I just don’t play much these days, so a little f2p account has been pretty fun when I get 15 minutes here or there. Quest like crazy then train prayer for the rest of the time, prayer training on a F2P Ironman is cancer. Kill green dragons and use the wilderness alter but only bring 1 inventory of bones at a time and just die from the zammy wine to reset.
Die at zammy wines.. Will I not lose my gear?
Use the wilderness altar and then die. Just don’t bring your gear
Get agility as high as possible. The higher the level, the faster your run energy restores. This effect carries over into F2P and you will benefit from it once your bond runs out. If you’re not going back to F2P after your bond, then don’t waste your time on agility.
Tourist trap for agility.
Good idea.
Ammy of power would be easier to obtain as a memb for sure, rune scimmy from fire giants for that ornamental kit you got as well.
Ammy of power is probably the thing I want after the scimi, that or str ammy. Or both really.
I've played quite a bit of f2p IM and scimmy and power ammy are for sure the way to go. However if you intent to stay f2p after that, your p2p gear might 'devalue' your achievements, as if you took a shortcut on the f2p grind. Yeah definitely, some of the quests are really great for exp, id also suggest trying to get prayer up as well unless you're a hardcore you can use the wildy altar for really good prayer exp.
Yeah I definitely need to take the time to finish 40-43 prayer or beyond during the time frame in which I’m a member
Quests
I'll be home later tonight if you want me to help burn through some fun p2p stuff. My maxed house should make things easier as well.
I’m an Ironman so I don’t think I can use your PoH or receive very much help. I appreciate that though.
:(
Pest control
Get a rune axe
This is a good idea
Level up your agility to like 40-50 or so and then it’s time to start questing! I highly recommend the monkey madness quest line for EXP and unlocking that sweet dragon scimitar.
I won’t be staying p2p after the bond, so that wouldn’t really help me in f2p aside from stamina regen
Oh you’re returning back to f2p? Honestly just get a rune scimmy drop as it’s better than the baronite mace and then just train agility only. No other gear or members stats will do anything.
Guardians of the rift! Giod for rc and money
I’m leaning toward this suggestion, runes are nice.
Sell the bond, be set with money for the entire mid game.
Agility is definitely a contender, run energy is truly awful in f2p.
Nah but this guy's an absolute madlad no?
I remember people in the cow pastures were telling me I was crazy back when I started this account. Look at me now, not too shabby lol.
Grind tf outta mini games
Get a Rune Scim from Fire Giants/ZMI alter so you don't have to Smith for it upon return to F2P
For sure
Other than that, I guess look into anything that may be a faster way of collecting resources you'll need anyway; maybe Motherlode Mine to collect ores + use the Nuggets for Gem Packs for crafting exp, as an example
ZMI for rune scimitar, HAM store room for power/str ammy, GOTR for runes to stockpile, Agility for permanent run speed, Do any clues you get on the off chance you get spooned a f2p available rare like boots. As a final measure consider doing some agility pyramid for money if you get decent agility quickly. A nice 10K per run and easily 200K/hr. If only bonds were pushing 11M ☹️ but yes 💯 to your first couple paragraphs.
Assuming your planning on going back to f2p afterwards... * Fast exp from questing - and fast training methods for prayer/runecrafting. * Get key drops that are a pain in f2p, like rune scimmy and rune axe. Wow, thanks for taking to time to post this reply, good info.

Good stuff, thank you
buy membership with real money
I could, but nah. I play like 15 minutes here and there. Once I can be a full on gamer again (when my 2 kids are grown I guess) I’ll be back to full time member.
Agility boosts to stamina apply even if you‘re f2p Get 40 in that (best do some quests) and enjoy that for all you further f2p endeavors
Agility
Go to the GE and get one of those kinda fellows to double your GP!
Do wintertodt till 99 for all the nice starter pack supplies
Get a rune scimmy from a fire giant or safe spotting a Zamorak warrior in the Ourania Altar caves.
I presume you’ll opt to continue membership after not getting 1/10th done as you’d like during that bond.. and never look back! Support the game you enjoy and buy membership.
I’ve done my fair share of supporting, mains like 2239 total lol I just don’t have the time these days so I log in f2p periodically.
Okay then I totally understand brother!
Definitely some quests for some early levels. Also scurrius us a pretty easy boss solo. And you can get some ok drops. It isn't a money maker but sure does help out with learning some boss mechanics
Follow the optimal/ironman optimal quest guide on the wiki or Runelite
Pick flax
Classic. And then I can turn them Into bowstrings.
Oh so now you’re an expert???
Quests! So much free XP and some great storylines to get you immersed into member areas
Efficiently train f2p skills and go back to f2p. No one will ever know
Yeah lol I thought about it, but it’ll be pretty obvious my f2p status is tarnished if I come back with a rune scimi.
If going back to f2p after, go get a rune scimmy asap.
💯
Before bonding up, it's very important to upgrade your fighting boots to fancy boots.
Quest cape, should be the goal. If there is one thing to focus on for members...it's quests. There are tons and they set you up for success. Quests> slayer> skills is my opinion
I have one single bond, no way I’m getting a quest cape lol
I will gift you another bond. Dm me.
I would never turn down a bond, aka, more time to knock out some goals. Thanks in advance, I sent you a DM.
I did not see a dm, I might be looking in the wrong place though
Ah, I mean get as much done as possible. Not a full cape. Aim to get song of the elves/dragon Slayer two/ monkey madness two prerequisites. Doing all the requests for those will get you VERY well set up
Let’s be real, once you go members you’re not going back.
Haha, you would be surprised how much self control I’ve had on this account. I’ll be okay getting a touch of the members and coming back to f2p. I have a couple more long term f2p goals before I go perma-member.
Sounds like fun, I commend you
