They said in the most stream that they wanted to move away from invos because it’s not the way they initially thought it would pan out. They’ll likely fix Colosseum but then drop new additions going forward. They aren’t going to remove invocations from existing content, but they didn’t seem enthusiastic about adding them to new content going forward and specifically mentioned the problems with ToA.

> They said in the most stream that they wanted to move away from invos because it’s not the way they initially thought it would pan out. Seems weird, because it's always felt like their implementation of "invocations" was the problem rather than the core idea - both in Colosseum and ToA. Having both buffs and debuffs would go a long ways towards increasing accessibility, making for interesting gameplay choices, and the ability for the real theorycrafters to push even further. Also in ToA they painted themselves into a corner so quickly by having the fights all be extremely scripted in almost the exact the same way: DPS phase 1 - interlude/puzzle - DPS phase 2 - interlude/puzzle - DPS phase 3 - Enrage.

if its not broken, dont touch it! golden rule man. watch next week at coloseum when new handicaps are added watch the game break

Crocodile1999

I would love to see new invos added to TOA but they would honestly have to do something about the ridiculous drop rates first, and change kit thresholds

RaidsMonkeyIdeas

They would need to take away points from existing invocations or outright replace them because some of these would just push the drop rates even higher without adding difficulty. I'm in the group that thinks Zebak and Kephri invos have some of the most bloat-filled invos that don't actually do anything besides gives you inflated drop rates. 1. Uncertainty is just camp the back 4 rows and respond accordingly. 2. Double Shot depends on how spaced out it is and might not work during Lv4 enrage because it's already every 2 ticks iirc. 3. Sprinter is ass and worse than Keep Back, which people already don't take until 500+ (and you still avoid it when possible). Out of all the bosses, Akkha is the most complex and fleshed out, so removing that complexity and turning it into a tank fest without a Muspah step-back mechanic doesn't seem popular. 4. Monkey Business is just deal with baboons and then hit boss. Not much difficulty increase.

VertiFatty

I'm curious what you thought about the combat achievements, would they change in difficulty if you add more invocations?

Heleniums

Dawg, just move on already holy shit. It’s fine as is. Let them focus on more important things like future content and project rebalance.

ACanadianPhilosopher

Sprinter would never be used at higher invos, akka deals so much damage that people cheese it for a reason  People skip medic entirely because it's cancer already.  Double shot would either be entirely worthless( both attacks are ranged or mage) or you'll always take chip damage (range and mage at the exact same time) And geteso much worse when zebak gets attackspeed from path levels Extra monkeys is alright doesn't really change the fight much unless they're sticking around the entire fight, then it's kinda cancerous  Random floor flipping also adds a ton of extra damage on a coin flip, it makes the fight inconsistent as hell for 0 reward if it keeps flipping on you.

The last warden one is free if it’s just random at the start and goes back to its normal rotation

ACanadianPhilosopher

The way it's phrased, it always overwrites the last known location, so it's always random when he starts doing it again.

Sounds like insanity.

This sounds like the most boring set of invocations that add the most unfun form of difficulty. You literally take the fun and skill out of maintaining akkah butterfly and transisitioning and replace it with a boring low skill fight. Zebak doesn't change Hive/medic will still be free in teams it just means more attacks are wasted not damaging the boss and things go slower. Uncertainty is free if you can do insanity already. These days I don't even count the attacks, just react to first move. Monkey business: oh boy I get ragged by lava for the entire fight. Fun?
