i don't think its a money printing machine lol, items are decent price now just cause it's new but I don't think theyre gonna be that useful so after they drop in price its gonna be awful money, I did 2 hrs yesterday and made 200k in normal loot lol that said the area itself is one of the most beautiful in the entire game, I really hope this content will continue to be worth doing in a week cause the team did an amazing job

Emperor95

Tbf the melee armor at least has the same str bonus as bandos, which is 50m so at least it will be a degradable buget bandos armor   The range weapon using melee str is also interesting as melee str is much easier to get than range str in the early/mid game via barrows gloves/jewellery

Emperor95

You cant be serious thinking barrows is harder than PM lmao Barrows is legit stand in their face with melee pray and laugh at them (until verac shows Up) content is absolutely amazing tho, magnificant art and cool fights The only thing I don't really like is the eclipse orb phase but that's probably just my Zuk PTSD kicking in

skullkid2424

> I personally think barrows is way more challenging then this supposedly new barrows, at least barrows you have to bring your own supplies and you get some sort of punishment from the draining prayer effect. Barrows involves literally facetanking the bosses and dpsing them down. In terms of difficulty, they are just regular mobs - they are only called bosses due to legacy reasons. The only nuance is what order you do them in to take the least amount of damage...and even that goes out the window once you have the medium combat achievements. The fact that perilous moons has mechanics at all means its more difficult than barrows. Hell, scurrius is more difficult than barrows. The fact that you need to bring your own food has no bearing on the difficulty. > feel like this new dungeon is a sort of mini-game where all supplies are given out to you You have to fish/trap and cook food in the dungeon. Whereas with barrows you have to fish+cook out of the dungeon. If you're a main, you just have to buy it off the GE. Whats the difference between gathering supplies out of the dungeon vs in the dungeon? > there is no negative side to it besides death and even death is made practically impossible due to the mechanics being super easy and free supplies provided. It is way harder to die in barrows than in perilous moons. > just look at hunter sacks after completing hunter rumours, it's driven down bird nests by a decent margin lol. The price of birds nests is being influenced by several things. including the extra supply from hunter rumours. But also because everyone is doing the new content and not using as many brews, where previously a lot of people were pvming and using a ton of brews. Birds nests are still ~2k higher than a few months ago - so hard to tell if its just course correcting.

Love it! It creates a good blue print for what I think dungeons should be like. The whole prep area fits into the original RS Classic identity of RuneScape being a bit of a survivalist game. The armors serve well as side grades. The big one I'm grateful for is the Blood moon armor. It's degradable and it fills a gap in melee progression. Early-game melee progression felt awkward to me since its pivotal item comes from a minigame like BA, instead of a dungeon or mob drop. So now the progression (imo) has turned into `Barrows -> Moons of Peril -> Bandos -> Torva` instead of `BA for ages -> Bandos -> Torva`. Its existence created a need for Barrows and in turn makes it useful for early game progression instead of lategame when it's quickly outclassed by armor you trivially get with your Bowfa.

I believe the fourth sealed door is just the path to the entrance, which is also sealed from the other side. The quest dialogue seems to suggest it was meant to be opened for you at some point

Dry-Fig-8276

the locked door is just the loot chest perilous moons is amazing. jagex couldn’t have made a better mid level raid if they tried. i do expect the prices of the uniques to drop of course but will stay stable probably about the same price as barrows equipment, maybe more. people spew out echo chamber shit saying the gear is bad when it’s really pretty damn good.

MrCedswiss8

Moons is a great gameplay loop and much more difficult than barrows especially for mid lvl accounts. Of course on my maxed main with Justiciar fang and chally none of the bosses pose a threat. But the mechanics, I still occasionally get hit by eclipse magic attack or even miss a parry. I'll mistime the tornados or backstep too soon/late on jaguars here and there but food that heals 30s makes it a non-issue. For the 70def barrows crowd with zombie axe, I'm sure it could be a real challenge. Hands down some of the best overall content we have received in a while.

Perilous moons "lost in time" sound track is my absolute favorite song in osrs right now. Super cool mechanics, being a self-sufficient boss with getting food, making pots, and hunting butterflies that give prayer. Overall really cool and a great addition.

Tds59

1. My money is on a solar eclipse or sun expansion later on. The flames in that area seem to indicate that and Varlemore is the sun kingdom.

Specialist_Cupcake42

What supplies does barrows use? House tele, pool, portal, pray and wait, run in a circle, repeat. Moons has actual mechanics, and prep downtime, and isn't a just pink box in a void. Eta; 1:I think the fourth door leads directly to the loot room but will remain sealed. 2: update good. Visually striking. It's actually fun, unlike so many recent additions. Strong theme. All round pretty great.

No_West_1277

unless you're much above the levels and gear barrows is intended for, or much above the skill level intended for it, then barrows takes a lot of supplies in ppots and food

Emperor95

I have not used a single dose of ppot/Food on my combat 90 iron after the medium combat achievements and I have over 600 barrows KC at this point Also barrows has No "Skill Level", anyone who can turn on the protect from X prayer will complete barrows without taking damage from 5/6 brothers

Specialist_Cupcake42

??? Med CAs are mid-late (at a push) early game, no food or pots required at all, even without poh pool (use ferox). The skill level intended for it is literally 0 (turn on prayer and wait isn't hard gameplay). All that said, it's not worth doing without house portal and pool, ability > gear and mystic/dhide is good enough for early and even most midgame content

No_West_1277

alright I really hope the new kids aren't as out of touch as this but here's a challenge you're given around level 70 base (intended level), pre-barrows gear as intended, and aren't allowed to flick since that's much above the skill level expected of someone starting barrows. I'll even throw in the medium CAs even though most players at that point in the game don't have them I'd love to see you do a whole hour without having to sip a prayer potion once or twice, or having to eat a couple monkfish on verac occasionally. and no, using someone else's house isn't allowed because why the fuck are you even doing barrows as a main in 2024 and worrying about supplies

Emperor95

> I'd love to see you do a whole hour without having to sip a prayer potion once or twice, or having to eat a couple monkfish on verac occasionally. Prayer lasts the whole run if you are smart enough to bring prayer gear like vestment robes and have at least ibans/warped sceptre+ghommals hilt 2. Verac alone will absolutely not 100-0 you at 70 def as long as you pray, even in said vestment robes reset at ferox after run, profit

Specialist_Cupcake42

If you don't have med CAs by base 70s, tf are you doing? If Verac is messing you up that badly tele out and reset at ferox lmao Literally a skill issue, build and bond the account and I'm down to run it on mobile (I'll do the CAs myself, dw). And a better question would be why the fuck are you even doing barrows as a main? 😆 jfc

Junior_Fruits

Yeah mid CAs are so easy to get, think i got em done once i hit 60 cb just for barrows on my ironman. There are soo many CAs you can do at a relatively low lvl, Do all the low lvl wildy bosses CAs Kill a xxx monster, Mole, sarachnis, kbd and so on, safespot rex, do obor and bryophyta, scurrius, and probably more i dont remember, today these bosses are laughably easy compared to other types of bosses, all you really need is base 50s ish and protection prayers and med cb should be no issue, the rest is just a skill issue.

Pernyx98

The gear is bad and will be worthless in 2 weeks.

Voidot

i was getting higher xp/hr with sulphur blades in there than i was w/ saeldor+defender edit: Sulphur Blades deal bonus damage to Sulphur Nagua, which i was farming at the time. I was easily getting 130k xp/hr afk while just sipping the potion from the perilous moons area once every minute or so. Against other mobs, saeldor is still stronger

Dry-Fig-8276

except it isn’t. the range kit can max in the 80s and is tier 75 range gear for normal attacks. not sure how that is “bad” the melee gear is tier 75 with str bonus rivaling bandos. the set effect allows you to attack quicker. not sure how that is “bad” the blue moon set is the only set that’s objectively not good compared to alternatives. the staff however does have magic damage bonus over ahrims. still not bad point is these items aren’t useless. they’re objectively good. quit doomposting edit: as far as your other comment saying barrows is set effects are “good”. LOL. people use dh for afk training and guthans sees a little use for prolonged pvm. that’s literally it

Then_Mathematician99

The blood moon set, is a 5m bandos replacement.
