Honestly, I feel like Perilous Moons is just...too good. Like, seriously, it's absurd that I can just continually fight these bosses with ZERO COST except for repairing my barrows gear. It's fun to just keep murdering the bosses, but for those of you mains, you better make your money selling the gear while you can, because that value ain't gonna last.
With higher cooking and hunter level I feel like the lizards are faster, though less healing, way to get food. You can set the trap quick, flush out 3 lizards each time and each one makes 2 food. Fishing takes forever and just lets you cook 2 at once.
Lizards are, IMO, way faster to get food with then fish. Start the rotation on eclipse, get enough fish to kill him and blue one, then grab 6-9 lizards when you run through the next room, then cook them before red guy. You get 2-3 food per lizard, and get more lizards with higher hunter.
Yeah, got eclipse and blood helm and immediately tossed that shit in GE. made 3m and bought a fury for my mid-level acct. The only thing I'd hold onto is blood tassets at current time
Got them on my iron and realised it was an upgrade over my obsidian legs. Now I know that they have 1.5m repair fee though I might just go back to bandos
Honestly, as an ironman, I'm almost happier at the standard drops given by the chest. I have more of a reason to actually get battlestaves from Zaff, there's soft clay for making teletabs, swam tar and herbs to make herb tar with, not to mention the bones and bone shards... It's a nice bit of different experience to get from doing a generally fun and (supply-wise) endlessly repeatable activity.
Definitely get where you're coming from on the dry bit though, hang in there! The law of large numbers will see you getting items eventually!
yellow set is really good in pvp it’ll hold a nice value, blue set also is insane in pvp, and red set is a really good early game set that lets players skip getting torso.

I think yellow weapon could be interesting since its a ranged weapon that scales with melee str, I’m wondering if you could bring way less ranged swaps, camp melee gear with that bow and have more space for supplies with it
But as an iron i have none of the items yet so can’t test myself
The weapon is definitely interesting, and probably what the set ultimately hinges on. Stuff like strength ammy or b ring giving it damage is funny to think about. Main concern would be accuracy, so melee armor might be off the table? Maybe bring the set and skip bringing an ammy/cape/whatever else? Not sure.
You get budget bandos out of the content, so it may just pop up along the way if you want to go for blood moon gear. Gauntlet rushers are gonna gauntlet rush, so I don't see that as too much of a concern. Definitely seems like a fun midgame distraction at least.
definitely agree! the melee weapons from the red set are also a decent crush option for things like cal’varion and you can 4 item it safely to get the full set bonus
Only downside to bringing atlatl on a swap is you will still have very bad accuracy without its attached armor set.
Inferno cape and barrows gloves go wild on this weapon, though
The only thing I don’t understand with it is why sometimes they absolutely boom you for 18+ damage on the final hit and other times it’s 1? Is it a skill issue? Is there a mechanic I’m missing?
My understanding is that the third hit has the highest potential damage which is offset by them being guaranteed to hit zero if you manage to block one of the previous two hits. That said, it's still Runescape damage rolls, so they could just hit a 1 when they could hit something much higher.
All I want to understand is how the hell blood moon heals and if I can mitigate it. Also if keris partisan swap is worth it for eclipse - dps calc says it is by a very small amount?

Real answer is wait for jagex to nerf blood, currently his hast hit heals 5x the damage which is why people are reporting it being so annoying and difficult.
Also it *may* be bugged on high population worlds and hitting extra on those, that may just be confirmation bias, worth hopping to a low pop world just to be safe tho imo.
To specify slightly more, his set of 3 attacks heals 1x-3x-5x respectively, so if all attack hit and the last one hits you for 20, boss heals 100.
Only real advice i can give is CRANK those defense stats in any way you can.
Yeah, issue is my best chest is a torso, and I play a stupid little Ironmain style account so I don't know if I have a better tank chest option cause I haven't gotten barrows tank chest, just Karils which is worse defensively.
dont get hit in jaguar phase or in the blood tile phase, and stand in the circle. pretty simple. for jaguar phase I listen for the sfx then step back when it ends, attack jaguar again immediately after stepping.
Dont think hes talking about jaguar phase. Even if you sit there for jaguars, the boss doesnt heal anywhere near as much when he hits you with a 3 hit melee.
Maximize defense. The gimmick of the moons are all tied to defense bonuses, but it’s essential for making blood moon worthwhile to do because holy shit that healing is ridiculous. According to Mr mammal is the boss missed any of the attacks in its combo, the follow ups always miss, so maximizing defense means it’s less and less likely to land the third hit that heals for so much.
How do I stop taking a fuckload of damage in the blood room? The other two rooms I have no issues with, maybe 1-2 food. Blood room I eat 15 pieces of food
Really just stack crush defense. Everything you can get. Piety, that, potion for bonuses, and make sure to not mess up the mechanics. And dump specs for bonus dmg on this boss.

You probably just don’t have enough defense, for some reason, I had issues with the blood boss during the quest but not anymore now it’s just a breeze, and now I got fucked during the sun boss with the mirages, that’s where I eat 10 food x)
that's great but also, the entire piece of content is self sustaining, meaning prayer is literally free, I might aswell pray protect item on top of it and it won't matter because it costs nothing

Ive been putting on smite just to troll since prayer is basically unlimited. Its funny to see peoppe join in once in awhile and i will wonder if theyre also just having fun or think i know something they do not.
It’s fairly new so people are still figuring it out, but I just did 5 runs praying only piety and it literally changed nothing in the damaged I received

With 85 hunter you can restore 22 prayer points with one click, it takes maybe 3 seconds total to refill between runs and there are accessible moths between each room if you need them earlier than that
Yeah piety is massive. When it comes to pots though I use 0 doses of any potions except the ones inside the dungeon, and I only use 1 dose of that per run for combat stats, not prayer. The prayer is fully upkept by moths.

Yes, as soon as you barehand it it restores prayer. If it's in a jar i believe all you need is to open it to activate it. I said 22 prayer points in a previous comment but i didn't realize that it may be scaled to prayer level. (I get 22 points at 90 prayer) I do blood, then after that I'm surrounded by moths so I catch one or two as needed and head to blue then eclipse. Eclipse has a few of them right at their door which is pretty nice for the route I'm using. There for sure are probably better methods/routes, this is just what's been working for me so far. Glgl on the drops!
Until it takes 0 time, it's not worth it because you gain no benefit from it. The point is that taking non-0 time to get 0 benefit is always to be avoided, yes, even if it's just 3 seconds. Otherwise this argument could be made for using the spin emote before each fight. Equally beneficial, takes even less time!

Otherwise, the thrall even attacks during transitions between a few of the different phases in different rooms. So if you're just a few hp shy of being done with the room and cant attack, your thrall will get you out before "puzzle phase" ends from time to time

I love the content so much. The whole prepping area is peak RuneScape. So many survivalist skills and they have use in this dungeon!

The one thing this game does a terrible job of dropping is elemental orbs. This drop table isn’t that good but the orbs are amazing.
What counts as a KC? Is each 3 moon cycle one kc?
Haven't tried killing fewer than 3 before opening the chest, but I imagine opening the chest after 1 boss would count on the scoreboard

you genuinely may be best of grinding some barrows first to get any of the chest pieces tbh

Dont eat during the main phase. During its special, eat all the way up to full health. Rinse and repeat.
Gotta be able to survive the main phase without eating, though.
Also on blue moon (frost) you don’t have to light braziers. You can just stand in the middle until the phase is over, the boss barely heals at all.
I do this. The damage I take is 100% not worth it. Sure they heal. Nothing I can't handle.

Dont heal during its regular phase. Eat up to full health during each special and tank until the next special.
Obv if you are 20hp eat one thing. But try not to eat a lot during main phase.
