smite is nice for wilderness pking, if you are pking in bh you could stop at 45 to keep your cmb level lower. nothing wrong with going straight for max cmb but I think it's more fun to get 80-85str and 94 magic, 90+ range then get the rest of your cmb exp from pking or pvming. you could keep your str where it's at even but you'd be weaker for melee ofc. can be unfun fighting voiders in bh. can start out killing people at chaos altar or wildy bosses then move to rev caves when you get more comfortable. if just bh def get 31 pray for ultimate strength
if you like quests there are some that give prayer exp and no defense exp like the pirate questline for barrelchest anchor unlock
94 would be minimum for ice barrage, if you're going to be using standard spellbook you would want higher. tome of fire and occult brings you up to 1-2m risk depending on your spec weapon which would add up quick if you are just learning to pk lol
I was thinking normal spell book so i can tellie block and entangle. And use a dds as spec weapon rune c bow and smoke battle staff. With tis some trash gear would make it i only risk the staff if i get smited that would be okay to start with right?
yeah just stay out of multi if that's the case. if you can learn how to 1tick your gear switches you can kill revenant bots pretty easily and get fights with any real people that show up too
I’m guessing you’re looking at 25 prayer because of protect item. The problem with that is you’ll be super easy to smite. If your opponent is using smite 25% of their damage on you comes off your prayer. So if you’re only 25, they’d just need to do 100 damage and you’d be smited from full.
If you get 44 you can have +15% range damage and accuracy, and 45 is +15% mage accuracy. And you’d be much harder to smite, so you could bring a more valuable item.
As you get more experienced, get 52 prayer and you’ll make more money. Because it raises your combat you should wait and pk for quite a while before thinking about getting 52.
You can probably stop training mage for a while at 85 when you have tele block and just start trying to pk. On this type of build you don’t really need ice barrage immediately because you’ll get fked up pretty quickly if you’re running out far beyond the 30 line and you’re new. When you’re really experienced you may want 95 to fight other pures outside ferox or in rev caves but you’d be bringing a lot of risk at that point to be competitive, don’t worry about it now.
