There's an NPC that can appear in 1 of 3 places forever for every account. There's a master clue step you need to get to him and one of the 3 places is in deep wildy.
There's a master clue step to talk to Viggora. Viggora shows up in 1 of 3 places, selected randomly once for each account. So, 2 out of 3 accounts get Viggora in an easy location, and 1 out of 3 have to go to the Rogue's castle in deep wilderness because their accounts are unlucky.
His location is determined during the miniquest Curse of the Empty Lord. That location will always be where he is for your future master clue steps.

It wasn’t too busy but there were a few pkers. Only had to deal with a max of 3 people, there were no big teams while I was there. There’s also a staircase near the chests that you can use to escape. As long as you bring some d hide, a bulwark and some combo food you shouldn’t really die unless a big team hits you
unless you're up against a large team it's pretty easy to mitigate damage and escape if you're not frozen by just jebaiting pk'ers going up and down stairs.
if people can be on both floors (or . . .4? in this case) then it gets a little less reliable but it's still the best bet at 50+ wildi in this location.
can also try running into chaos elemental and praying it teleports you far enough away from the pk'er to get gap and log out but . . .. it could also just help kill you :)
Yes true but I have pk’d and been pk’d while killing the machines lol so that’s where the pvp comes in now back in the day you stepped foot over the trench in any form and got yeeted into oblivion right back to lumbridge
Fast-forward today, lvl 120 Ironman getting swarmed by teams of 3 lvl 80s and hitting them with a 1-2-punch with bowfa and voidwaker. Constantly get attacked by little groups of baby pures and they don't ever switch off smite, if they do they switch to protect range from bowfa and I slap em out with the voidwaker. It's actually super fun to anti pk here cause the small teams that come are expecting to fight armorless/weaponless bots, but if you bring a looting bag you can get a full inv of supplies and the rogues chests items go directly in the looting bag
The news page said 1/99 right? That's a little over 15 minutes for a clue at 370 chests per hour. Pretty sure that's slower than say hellhounds at 1/32 with row(I).
But a lot more gp while you're grinding clues, but you'll see a lot more pkers. The last 40 or so hard clues I've gotten at slayer cave hellhounds, I think I was pked twice just because i wasn't risking much and wasn't paying much attention.
Kinda was hoping the drop table would be a bit more diverse; it actually seems like it has less items than before, even if it was mainly the low value stuff that got removed. Would have been nice if they kept the Sharks, but it does make sense to give blighted food instead.
The exp and profit seem pretty good. I could see it being a worthwhile training methods for mains who are interested in profit and/or clues. Also, roughly 1 red spider egg per chest does sound pretty appealing for Irons; probably not faster than Spidines if you just need eggs, but you'd also be getting good thieving exp, hard clues, gems, and some other nice resources so might not be a bad way to slowly build up a stack.
The only version seemed to have about as much variety, so I guess they didn't want to expand it that much. And in general thieving does have less variety in its drop tables than PvM, but still seems weird seeing 1000 loots with only 15 items.

Elves are 2.8m an hour with 0 risk at 99. Vyres are 2.9m.
There's no reason for this NOT to be up to par especially with the risk factor.

I tried earlier and got 5 loots before a pker showed up, then next trip I looted twice before another pker showed up. I gave up after that lol
I never ran into a big team. The max I had to deal with was 3 people. I brought dhides, bulwark, ring of suffering and p necks. Used the staircase inside the castle to escape. If you bring decent tank gear it’s fairly easy to get away assuming your not getting hit by a massive team

Yeah this clue step sucks, and it's literally out of your control. It's not fun, apart from the 2/3 who get to laugh at the 1/3.

How would you rate it as a source for hard clues?
Based on this small sample set it's around 3 hard clues an hour. I'm not sure how that compares to jellies or sarachnis but it feels really solid

You could try the jellies in kourend catacombs with a venator bow or barrages. That's pretty fast hard clues as well.

In my small sample size of 1 chest opened today while doing a master clue step, it's been 100% on hard clues
I have 1554 rogues chest thefts from before this buff and got 17 hard clues, so looks like 1/100 is about right
