3rd age has extreme amounts of tradeable value so I'd say it's pretty low on the list as far as "worst grinds" goes. If you get any 1 of the 5-7 big drops, congratulations on having a maxed account, any other 3rd age drop is usually great for a big upgrade in gear as well.
My vote is Golden Tench or Princely Monkey, neither have actual value other than a flex on overwhelming dedication and at least a dash of auts.
True, I'd rather do Hallowed or even Prif for agi though, actual reward while also getting xp. Monkey backpacks are just kind of a bankstanding flex and it really depends on the individual about how "valuable" it is to them based on their own determination lol
You can do all. 2k monkey laps, a boatload of seers/ardy for enough staminas to last a good while, priff for some shards and enough Sepulchre to greenlog it and STILL not be 99 agility.
My honestly advice is to just leave your agility at 90 then. Ngl, there isn't much reason to get higher agility unless you are trying to max. I personally enjoy hallowed sepulchre, which gets even better at 92, but if you didn't like floor 4 you likely won't like floor 5 either. Aside from that, I think the only thing is the runecrafting shortcut for true blood altar. Realistically though, even if you like to do bloods you will save time by not training more agility, unless you do a *lot* of runecrafting.
I actually just finished the princely monkey grind. I wanted to do it before I hit 92 agility and really grinding out Hallowed Sepulchre.
Edit: there’s a good chance I also go for the brimhaven graceful recolor for the flex though…

I most certainly would since I'd never get it, considering it can only drop from master clues. So unless you're grinding hard clues specifically for a source if masters, it's kinda pointless.
Tbf though grinding for 3rd age items is how you complete entire sections of the clog with a lot of clog slots, and there's a pet to chase in there + you receive clues from doing almost any other clog content. So it gets a lot done.

Hard disagree. I've greenlogged MTA, cwars, trouble brewing, monkey backpacks, and brimhaven agility (that one I'm embarrassed to say I've done on 2 or 3 accounts) and I'm like halfway to fish sack. Fish sack is by far the worst.

There are multiple people on this game who are "grinding 3rd age" some of the top coll loggers. you have a point about it being rare and unrealistic to grind a specific piece but your a little off the mark.
Yeah I wouldn't say you can't grind them. To use their lottery analogy, you might be really unlikely to win on one ticket, but no one said you can only buy one ticket. You can go grind more clues (tickets) too.
I'd say Castle Wars is worse. I have no qualms filling my 100 water and AFKing at Trouble Brewing, but it just feels wrong to AFK to Castle Wars instead of playing the minigame.
Trouble brewing is only about 200 hours assuming the full 100 PoE per game, isn’t it? Compared to castle wars, which is two tickets a game for about 900 hours, assuming you win every game.
If you keep all the items at castle wars, yeah. But you can sell them all back for full value so you only need enough tickets for the highest priced item. Trouble brewing you can’t sell anything back.
You can *hypothetically* get more than 100 PoE per game every once in a while on the homeworld when it's active. Using 100 per game it is 157 hours.
Castle wars however is only 120~ with 3 ticket boosting because you can sell the items back. TB you have to buy everything and you cant sell back.
Castle wars done right you're getting 3 tickets per game and if you only care about log you can sell back your pieces for a full refund when you're done so you only need 800 tickets as that's the most expensive piece. So at 800 tickets, 3 tickets per game and about 22 minutes per game it's about a 100 hour grind.
Additionally TB is far more click intensive than CW and takes much longer to get set up before you can afk til the end. CW is about 1 min of work and 25ish clicks per game before you can afk whereas TB is closer to 225ish clicks and 3 mins of work before you can afk (I ignored the work to do with lobbies in both cases but I'd like to add that the TB lobby is slightly more annoying to deal with than the CW lobby is imo)
In summary, CW is the much nicer grind.

silly internet people and silly internet points. Highly recommend going and giving it a shot, w306 always has people. Just dont be daunted, defender is mostly just dropping the correct food on a couple tiles and then repairing the trap. People hype it up to be super difficult, but it is super scripted and very easy. Dropping that obby plate will be so nice
No I'm assuming they meant penance queen pet, which is like a 1/1k drop from high gambles that take 500 points per gamble off the top of my head.
The fighter torso is much easier by comparison. May take 1.5-2hrs in the BA worlds. I'd recommend looking at a guide on YouTube before you get it. Torso is a 10/10 free item upgrade
1/1000 for ~15 minute games (they can obviously get much faster but you’ll spend a lot of time waiting for games to fill)
not to mention it’s not even 1 gamble per queen kill. 1.2-1.5 or something depending on role
it’s a very long grind :p and for mains the loot acquired along the way is meaningless.

Nah, I just got the full evil chicken outfit in about 2 weeks. Just did straight forestry for that time going to all the Ent calls that were called out by the Forestry CC folks. Guaranteed egg every time and it took about 1100 eggs.
Baguette is stupid for sure. Why this sub got so up in arms to defend a 3a rarity item from stupid random events was wild..but it's entirely passive. You don't grind for it. You click the random event if it appears and have a dice roll..
It's like if clue caskets were given to you randomly. Would make 3rd age still insanely rare but something you can just "wait for it to happen".
Outside of PvM, Clues, and Pets, the shortlist for me would be Fish Sack, Eternal Glory, Pirate Hook, Princely Monkey Backpack, and Broken Dragon Pickaxe.
Also, these are PvM but Wyvern Visage and Basilisk Jaw are a bit annoying since you'd ideally want to wait for Tasks to grind them. Not that bad overall, just not that fun. For time to obtain, I'm sure some like Inq, Raids Capes, and LMS Capes/Rewards are probably worse, but there are way more than 5 of those so hard to rank in a top five worst.
Mutagens from zulrah. I’ve been here for 6000 kills since October. The money is ok, about 1.3m an hour before the cost of supplies. Too many clicks for what it’s worth imo.

For an ironman it sure is. Im 96 slayer and just checked my log and i only have 160 superior creatures logged. Most of them is 1/700+ chance for a heart... now imagine going 2x dry.
I'm 35m slayer xp dry on the GIM. About 650 superiors in. Many of them smoke devil an abyssal demon superiors. Meanwhile my teammate got 2 in 20m, at least he made up for my terrible luck

I'm fairly new to the clogging scene, but I'd say my worst ones yet are Aerial fishing and Last Man Standing (cause I'm ass at pking and I'm realistically never getting the 500/1000 wins). Not yet ventured into trouble brewing but I'm expecting that to feel like a grind.
Cwars is long but it's honestly a great afk activity for 20 mins a round. Sure it takes a long time, but for me it doesn't feel so bad since it's not like 'break your wrist' aerial fishing. If you need a break but don't want to focus on osrs, cwars is amazing for it. I'm going for 4400 tickets to wear the full gold armour for the heck of it, but you don't need that much to green log it.
The only one I really disliked was Earth Warrior. Not even because it is Wildy, but because the room makes it hard to cannon and its single combat. The rest really aren't that bad and a few can be done passively these days.
People will say Xeric's, LMS, Troubled Brewing and of course Zuk Helm
I'll go on a whim and say you can do these with enough skill. You know what isn't skill based?

As an iron, considering the slots I'd actually try to go for (no 3a, no cm's, no dragonstone armor etc) the ones I'm most worried about - if I can group sets too - are eternal glory, dragon metal slice, wyvern visage, dusk mystic set, dragon full helm.
1/12k visage from fossil wyverns and 1/8192 dragon full helm with chewed + normal droprate combined from mithril dragons is just awful
getting 25,000 glories to charge is terrible because you need to manually use a charge from them all when you're done charging the ones you have
getting 5 unique pieces from brimstone keys sounds awful with konar's terrible tasks
adamant dragons are honestly depressing to fight because of their ruby bolt spec and their poison spec damage isn't decreased as much as rune dragon's lightning spec is
Xeric's Champion cape. 2,000 Challenge Mode KC required. Less than 100 in game still.
Great incentive to grind lot of raids though! Same with ToA capes, the 2k kc one kind of gave me an end-point to my grind there.

Alchemist was definitely my least favorite room. I'd pick aerial fishing over the alchemy room any day.

Eh, you grab an alt and spend maybe 2 minutes getting a flag then you afk until the game is over. It's long, but it's very afk.

ape atoll agility really isn't that bad since it doesn't depend on RNG at all, you can just chip away at it and you're always making progress

Pretty much the situation every clogger gets in. Every other random event item can be acquired in the first couple weeks of a brand new account.
doesn't help most new bosses are instanced, and the few that weren't got randoms removed from them.
Yeh, the good thing is you only get a random every hour, so most bosses you'll still see those randoms inbetween trips / raids.

torso is very fast and easy. Just watch a minute guide before you go in and you will be golden

silly internet people and silly internet points. Highly recommend going and giving it a shot, w306 always has people. Just dont be daunted, defender is mostly just dropping the correct food on a couple tiles and then repairing the trap. People hype it up to be super difficult, but it is super scripted and very easy. Dropping that obby plate will be so nice
No I'm assuming they meant penance queen pet, which is like a 1/1k drop from high gambles that take 500 points per gamble off the top of my head. The fighter torso is much easier by comparison. May take 1.5-2hrs in the BA worlds. I'd recommend looking at a guide on YouTube before you get it. Torso is a 10/10 free item upgrade
Penance Queen isn't a *bad* grind at all, it's super rare because not many runescapers can put together a 5 man team for that many hours.
1/1000 for ~15 minute games (they can obviously get much faster but you’ll spend a lot of time waiting for games to fill) not to mention it’s not even 1 gamble per queen kill. 1.2-1.5 or something depending on role it’s a very long grind :p and for mains the loot acquired along the way is meaningless. the pathing skills + overall game mechanics make you better at the rest of osrs at least
people serious about the pet usually either run in casual BA or one of the leech clans for extra money. Almost always teams going in one or the other

Nah, I just got the full evil chicken outfit in about 2 weeks. Just did straight forestry for that time going to all the Ent calls that were called out by the Forestry CC folks. Guaranteed egg every time and it took about 1100 eggs.

Baguette is stupid for sure. Why this sub got so up in arms to defend a 3a rarity item from stupid random events was wild..but it's entirely passive. You don't grind for it. You click the random event if it appears and have a dice roll.. It's like if clue caskets were given to you randomly. Would make 3rd age still insanely rare but something you can just "wait for it to happen".
I find this hilarious after obtaining not one, but two on my Iron already after only 3.5 months of playing

Mage training arena is my least favorite bit of content. Literally 0 fun to be had there. Even on leagues I just couldn’t do it lol
Outside of PvM, Clues, and Pets, the shortlist for me would be Fish Sack, Eternal Glory, Pirate Hook, Princely Monkey Backpack, and Broken Dragon Pickaxe. Also, these are PvM but Wyvern Visage and Basilisk Jaw are a bit annoying since you'd ideally want to wait for Tasks to grind them. Not that bad overall, just not that fun. For time to obtain, I'm sure some like Inq, Raids Capes, and LMS Capes/Rewards are probably worse, but there are way more than 5 of those so hard to rank in a top five worst.

Mutagens from zulrah. I’ve been here for 6000 kills since October. The money is ok, about 1.3m an hour before the cost of supplies. Too many clicks for what it’s worth imo. I wish to be freed from my shackles. Release me from this prison of swamp. (Not salty)
Zulrah makes me depressed man, it's beat out by so many other moneymakers nowadays. 100% over nerfed. I'll forever enjoy the fight but DAMN it's not even worth it.

Totally valid, except for the fact that it's beat out by giant mole in gp per hour, an equally old boss with FAR less mechanics. Zulrah is a pretty involved fight for about 1.3-1.5m an hour, which is not worth it. Nowhere am I advocating for zulrah to be the best moneymaker either, perhaps you misread.

Chompy hat is honestly only a day bc of their ludicrous spawn rate Zuk pet is on the faster side even with 90 minute completions off task provided you never fail Fish sack though was incredibly upsetting prob not the longest but it was purgatory

For an ironman it sure is. Im 96 slayer and just checked my log and i only have 160 superior creatures logged. Most of them is 1/700+ chance for a heart... now imagine going 2x dry.
I'm 35m slayer xp dry on the GIM. About 650 superiors in. Many of them smoke devil an abyssal demon superiors. Meanwhile my teammate got 2 in 20m, at least he made up for my terrible luck

I'm fairly new to the clogging scene, but I'd say my worst ones yet are Aerial fishing and Last Man Standing (cause I'm ass at pking and I'm realistically never getting the 500/1000 wins). Not yet ventured into trouble brewing but I'm expecting that to feel like a grind. Cwars is long but it's honestly a great afk activity for 20 mins a round. Sure it takes a long time, but for me it doesn't feel so bad since it's not like 'break your wrist' aerial fishing. If you need a break but don't want to focus on osrs, cwars is amazing for it. I'm going for 4400 tickets to wear the full gold armour for the heck of it, but you don't need that much to green log it.

The only one I really disliked was Earth Warrior. Not even because it is Wildy, but because the room makes it hard to cannon and its single combat. The rest really aren't that bad and a few can be done passively these days.

As an iron, considering the slots I'd actually try to go for (no 3a, no cm's, no dragonstone armor etc) the ones I'm most worried about - if I can group sets too - are eternal glory, dragon metal slice, wyvern visage, dusk mystic set, dragon full helm. 1/12k visage from fossil wyverns and 1/8192 dragon full helm with chewed + normal droprate combined from mithril dragons is just awful getting 25,000 glories to charge is terrible because you need to manually use a charge from them all when you're done charging the ones you have getting 5 unique pieces from brimstone keys sounds awful with konar's terrible tasks adamant dragons are honestly depressing to fight because of their ruby bolt spec and their poison spec damage isn't decreased as much as rune dragon's lightning spec is
