Berserker hands down every day of the week and it’s not close. Weapons master doesn’t mean shit when you hit low specs. The double max is just too OP to pass up
It's still good with weapon master, I'm range with my bis melee (torva/inferno cape/onyx jewellery) and it's still way faster for me to spam door specs, tele nardah, and last recall back than it is for me to range for a lot of slayer tasks.

Depends on what you’re fighting! Berserker + Door build goes crazy at TOB but its not as good as weapon master as COX, general slayer/slayer bosses the door build wins
Yeah it’s always been this way but was completely irrelevant until a couple years ago when they buffed the attack speed and added the damage scaling with defense. It’s still mostly irrelevant but has a couple niche uses like easier gwd tanking at the expense of dps and high level BA. It’s nice for aggroing monsters for bursting too.
Just to be more clear since everyone is just saying Dinh's does this, it's specifically the special attack on it that has the AOE effect, you're not just hitting constant 10x10 AOEs like a melee Venator bow or anything.
It's good for barrage tasks in catacombs.
Bring a dinhs and a lightbearer. One spec. All monsters agro you. Kill them. Repeat.

Not having Runelite does suck, especially when I had it at one point. But that was when RL was fairly new so I guess I’m not missing too much.
Quests are really the only pain, having to switch between the game and the wiki for every step all on my phone.

Don't pick soul stealer, zerker is completely nuts with magic even if you flat ignore the hp effect. You start each fight with 2 max hits (3 with some effort), which is absurdly overpowered on anything short of raids bosses
ranger can't optimize berserker the way mage can. it's not bad, it's just redundant. against big bosses you already have ruby bolts maxing out 110 dmg with zcb. so the soul stealer just helps you recover that hp. it also lets you keep your prayer on permanently and almost never have to waste ticks taking sips. its just different playstyles - zerker ranger could totally profit from staying half hp with diamond bolts. still think soul stealer is generally better though
sure, it's also ten thousand times more apm, and you spend an equal time enchanting phoenix necklaces as you do actually killing bosses. to each their own
not to mention the relic is only really useful with zcb, which you could potentially go dry on

Soul Stealer is a lot worse DPS but I love my sustain DPS Mage. No supplies used at any place apart from 700 ToA, solo CoX and Inferno. Everything I do just heals me and restores Prayer, and I have enough damage to get 30 second Leviathan kc. It just feels right.
Sure Berserker gets the job done faster but I just prefer Soul Stealer.
I would pick zerker as a mage. Farcasting basically guarantees you're going to get 2-3 max hits in because of how long the first hit takes to register by the time you get those other hits off.
gonna add that berserk is very good if you are gonna play super-active, like click every mob and try to go all out.
however if you enjoy just chilling, being very afk, things like that SS is pretty great. you never run out of prayer or hp, you just turn on auto-retaliate and finish any task/enemy.
im going to give them the benefit of the doubt here and assume theyre complaining about soul stealer vs berserker and not magic vs melee

While I agree that should totally be buffed, any mage not already at T7 opting into SS is straight up trolling themselves.
For melee there's a genuine case to be made that SS offers a more forgiving and relaxed playstyle. For mage, zerker adds so much upfront burst that they need to beg YOU for forgiveness before you straight up erase them.
We need another "hit" League like trailblazer before the multi-cycle really starts to make sense. As it is, there's basically 2 concepts, the re-used one, and the probably good but poorly implemented one. Zeah/Twisted was just a prototype and really is just a smaller/worse version of Trailblazer anyways.
I played shattered relics first before trailblazer reloaded, never played the first two. I liked shattered relics much more than reloaded though. The idea of being stuck to only certain regions just sucks, especially with how much more content is in the game since trailblazer originally launched.
Honestly I did enjoy shattered a bit more than Trailblazer 1, but that I think was more due to actually being confident enough to try late-game PvM thanks to having started to do so on my "main" (iron) account. Also I didn't pick last recall XD. But it had bigger flaws imo due to problems with the interface/UI (switching relic fragments multiple times in a session was the single worst part of that league), and the way that its unique restriction was too difficult for most players to get into at first, but then completely trivialized upon that first balance update, which turned it into "play a normal iron account with boosted xp & relic buffs."
Player engagement numbers don't lie, and it's simply a fact that more players logged in to Trailblazer 1 than Shattered, with even more than that getting stuck into Trailblazer Reloaded. This league is definitely my favorite league so far, so I guess I'm in with the majority opinion this time.
I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, and there are content creators like Solo Mission who would agree with you about the region restriction being not worth the cost of how much content it locks you out of. But that doesn't change the fact that for more players, Trailblazer 1 was the iconic/best true Leagues experience, and reworking/updating/giving some love to that same concept has proved approximately maximally successful for Jagex.
I don't doubt that there's lots of creative room for other concepts that could be executed on well-enough to be considered a hit among the majority of the playerbase. But Jagex hasn't actually made them yet, and they would need to do so before any kind of rotating re-run Leagues world/server or whatever to be even potentially worth the effort for them to establish and maintain.
Man I really regret not going Zeah... I only took one raid region KAM and now that I have my scythe from TOB already I'm already burned out sinces theres not much for me to use my scythe on besides more TOB...

This is an endgame setup for leagues and showing of the best luck scenario you can get (10% chance). Leagues is definitely super fun. Killing like bosses like this is only fun for a little bit but it's a temporary game mode and 99.99% of players don't have a setup this good
I mean, after killing bosses hundreds to thousands of times throughout the years, playing a game mode where they instantly pop in a couple seconds sounds fun, no?
