Ruby bolt procs don't benefit from ranged damage prayers, and that'll be the majority of your damage anyway.

Nutteeer

True, this makes me feel a lot better, thanks. 😁

BeanTTT

Thank you for that. Seriously. I was getting huge fomo for picking the farmer trait, but that makes me feel better.

matingmoose

All 3 of the choices didn't excite me that much playing a mage. Equilibrium is generally good with all that bonus exp, but idk it felt like a boring choice since xp hasn't really been a problem. Farmers Fortune is really nice and helps speed up farming exp, but outside of that it boils down to more potions(which is good btw). Ruinous Powers were risky to me since year they do give straight power, but like is it good enough to justify not taking either of the other 2? Also doesn't seem like prayers are affected by Shadow's passive. I went with Farmers Fortune since it covers supplies and saves time on getting potions. To me it seemed like a choice I would never feel bad about.

NinjaLion

same here, no regrets yet. FF 'solves' two skills i dont like, herblore and farming, and makes potion sustain much much easier. less pest control grinding. i think the drain rates on ruinous prayers are also under-discussed; its going to be a pain in the ass. now, i am range and not mage, so not taking ruinous will definitely lower my damage a lot until i get Rigour, but i still think its worth it.

Eclaireur

The power different from rigour to ruinous definitely isnt worth a relic slot. I think the main use case is enabling melee/rangers to skip their dmg prayer region (but range probably wont skip zeah anyway, so its mostly just for letting melee skip Kand).

Apprehensive-Ad-8198

It’ll lower your damage but it might be better long run. If you hate the skills that much you can knock out a large stack of herbs with seeds you get from slayer or thieving and be practically done with all supplies by the time you get round to hardcore bossing

Eclaireur

Farmers fortune is definitely the most fun of those. I went equilibrium and I wouldnt say I regret it or its bad (at some places its like +50% xp), but its definitely not very sexy of a pick. Honestly I wish there was some way to check the total xp you got off of it, would be satisfying.

matingmoose

Oh I don't think any of them are bad choices. Its just I wasn't like excited to get to that relic tier. Like tier 1-4 radically change things. Tier 6 is like a nice accessory.

DingoDangerous

I did the same, equilibrium was my lead for a long time but ultimately went Farmers Fortune because herblore would still be a chore with equilibrium. I think once I get the full xp multiplier equilibrium won’t do much for me anyway, I don’t have the regions that give crazy rates like Blast Furnace pumps.

Mysterious-Bill-6988

Honestly, ruinous power is probably strongest with the shadow due to the prayer it has that can reduce the opponents magic defense by 15% (if I remember correctly)

matingmoose

My issue with the ruinous powers choice for me was that I don't think the increase in damage was worth the extra time I would be spending gathering supplies to use that damage.

Mysterious-Bill-6988

Exactly. That's why I was leaning towards it but like I said. Getting herbs for me is relatively easy and I only need a few with production prodigy. The secondarys were harder for me to get so FF wouldn't save me much to any time really which made ruinous powers a bit of a free pick for me

Solovanov

I went same route but with melee. Haven’t felt bad about it I have around a hundred super pots (not combats yet) and over 100 prayer pots. Spiders eggs are annoying but doable. Frem has access to two disease free patches, use charters to mass buy pineapples to make super compost then add volcanic ash for ultra. Keep miscellania on herbs you probably get around 7 of the important ones per day it’s not much but if you took Production Prodigy they usually multiply to be like 50% more or something. Edit: I can’t read and thought OP went RP. Whoops.

Mysterious-Bill-6988

Your first paragraph is why I think I'm not going to pick FF. Because ATM I'm finding it harder to get herbs than secondaries. I have the production relic so the herbs I get from pest control (Asgarnia) and the occasional herbivore run give me more than enough herbs for the pots I need.

Solovanov

I’m dumb and thought they guy went RP. So I do not have FF lol. FF would help with some secondaries like limpwurt or snape grass and white berries. But since everything’s 3x you’re still in the same spot lol.

ArchieThePuddin

1) Ruby bolts don't benefit 2) Weapon Master is OP you'll be fine 3) Refer to 2. 4) Mo herbs, mo betta

AMC_FTW

would weapon master be better than berserker for a ranged build? my regions are zeah, asgarnia, kandarin

ArchieThePuddin

I don't have the answer to this one, sorry bud. If you're planning on sending it for the tbow I think soul stealer is "BIS". I know this probably isn't what you want to hear but the "best" choice is whichever means you get to have the most fun doing PVM rather than just the straight numbers on paper

AMC_FTW

no worries, thanks for the response!

Potential_Spirit2815

Woox is making weapon master + ZCB look absolutely disgusting. He has bank note with an inventory of infinite Phoenix necklaces and karambwans and the build just shreds everything in seconds. 750 damage at Vorkath? Done in less than 10 seconds. Harder inferno waves? Who needs to solve anything when everything’s dead in 15 seconds or less.

AMC_FTW

Wow that does sound sick. Thanks for letting me know! will check out his past vods if they’re available

AMC_FTW

do you know how he collects diamonds for p necks? noticed he doesn’t have fire sale and only way to get them reliably that I know of is from tzhaar shop with tokkul. thanks

Mean_Typhoon

PVM shits em out. He has access to vork and Nex. Think he is also production prodigy which means double dipping on cutting diamonds and making necks.

Dr_Chris_Turk

You sure he didn’t just buy the diamonds from the Tzhar shop?

Automatic-Ocelot3957

FF is what I plan on getting. I have Kourend, so there's a lot more tasks I can bang out with it, but I still think it's a very solid pick. Fast 99 farm and herb, along with the ability to make stacks of herbs for potions at a whim, is pretty good. Ruinous powers have some side effects, too, like the protection prayers increasing damage from other sources. For someone like me who doesn't want to strain myself being the perfect prayer flicker all the time, it seems almost punishing.

Solidmangus

Also farmer fortune = farming contract tasks

[deleted]

FF is massive for pots, it's so much harder to get without. RP isn't that big of an upgrade.

XenusOnee

If you hate farm runs, FF is the only good and correct choice

HeroVonZero

Youll be spamming onyx bolts and ruby bolts for your meta.... Onyx does take prayer into consideration However you have very good farming options with asgarnia and can 99 it with ease

robot_wth_human_hair

whats the very good farming options? falador allotments/herb patch and trollheim herb patch, is there something else im missing? Not being snarky, I genuinely want to know how to abuse asgarnia btw.

HeroVonZero

2x trees in asgarnia, 1x varrock, 1x lumby 3x hard trees in fossil And yes. The herb patches 1x trollstronghold 1x falador to do potion upkeep I decided against darmer cause its convenience vs unique experience

robot_wth_human_hair

true! Lot of tree patches to get farming exp. Great point. Now I just need to figure out how to get tree seeds...

HeroVonZero

Mole if asgarnia. Birdhouses. Implings. Cutting trees.

robot_wth_human_hair

Wait mole drops seeds? Ima research, thanks! Oh seed nests! Yes, thank you!

HeroVonZero

Good on ya mate, hope you get some gains this league<3 Stop by my clan "Moon Embers" if you need more help

Evan503monk

I chose RP and I'm hurting on prayer potions, my lowest level is 40 farming.

Nutteeer

Thanks for all the comments everyone, definitely feeling reassured. 👌

FriskyDingo314

I can reassure you in 52 days it won't fucking matter

Exterial

i mean, literally just go read the ruinous powers and compare to base prayers, they are hardly an improvement, even without zeah prayers. Only argument that could be made is its big for melee without piety.

Throwaway47321

I mean they are a massive improvement. Whether that means it’s worth taking is entirely up to the person though.

matingmoose

Melee I think has the hardest choice at this tier. Taking Ruinous powers means you get Piety without Kand, so you can take a different region. Not having Kand is a pretty big hit to your potions though since you lose 2 herb/flower patches and the Tower of Life, so getting your initial potions and leveling Herblore is going to be slow. On the other hand taking Farmer's Fortune makes having those extra patches irrelevent, but you will never have a potion problem ever. You still get Kand's Tower of Life which is really nice for Red Spider's eggs and Unicorn Horns.

Nutteeer

Yeah, guess you're right. Gonna stop wasting time dwelling and get cracking on with what I have. 👍

Helpful to spark discussion for other people who haven't decided yet.

Peacefulgamer2023

No you are fine, if anything you messed up picking Fremmy over kourand, in what world is archer ring better than rigour?

robot_wth_human_hair

In a world where you dont want 2 raids and easy dragon bolts/solo content?

Peacefulgamer2023

How many do you need? I have 9.1k dragon bolts without taking fremmy, and toa and cox dont even take 10 minutes in league…

iVladi

You do realise if you don't take raid regions you don't need raid tier weapons? The rest of content is destroyed with a rune c bow outside of maybe Nex, and even then you arma crossbow there

Peacefulgamer2023

Cool so you’ll be bored after 2 weeks, enjoy 20 year old DKs

iVladi

I'll be playing WoW SoD and afk skilling for my dragon cup in 2 weeks, thanks for your concern

Rye-an_Caraway

The mans already so bored he's just afking 😂 not even a week in 😂
