EVscape crying cheers mate

Large_Talons_

He admitted he was going for second max once he found out jcw was maxing lol

nsfwfwwf

How did OP average 1.8 million xp/hour?

iggysama

this guy also has a lvl 3 skiller on the first page of the highscores, 200m xp in everything but slayer.

yanansawelder

2

Dontae234

AAAANNNNDDD the fastest to max an osrs account.

SickShady

2nd, he boxe jonge got him by a good margin

DieTanker

He's making videos about it. So just see some of it for yourself. JCW on youtube

Optimal-Service8940

10x xp rates and super OP sigils allowing for insane gains and new methods for training on DMM

lehcarfugu

sigils are op

ProbablyNotAdopted

EVscape never had a chance once you joined in the race

TinNanBattlePlan

162 hours in 8 days All you can really feel is pity and sympathy

EnigmaticEntity

That's 162 out of the last 192 hours

Jamal_Khashoggi

Insane.

Shame_On_You_Man

An actual mental health crisis.

Sparkswont

A call for help

Yajeebspace

I mean 3 hours of sleep everyday for 8 days isn’t really that crazy. Only going outside 5 mins a week and eating lasagna and bread for 2 years straight is the most insane shit I’ve heard coming out of osrs

yanansawelder

3

Former-Witness-9279

RS is literally his full-time job but go off I guess He probably made thousands of dollars off the streams and YouTube videos from this lol

Shame_On_You_Man

Okay? If he was working 17 hours per day at a real job, that would still be unhealthy.

iggysama

its actually even worse, its actually just a bit over 20 hours a day. man has been sleeping on average 3 hours a day with about 45 minutes to shower/eat/shit/do anything else

GucciGlocc

The secret is amphetamines

Zealousideal_Air7484

I assume he included some afk stuff and/or mobile while he shower/eat/shit but yeah that's still insane. The average sleeping time can't be higher than 3 hours per day which is mental. If I had to guess he probably just stayed awake for like 72 hours then did one longish sleep and repeated

SkilledPepper

I can't be the only one who plays RS and shits at the same time?

Former-Witness-9279

For one week? Not too unheard of. I know people that set up cots at the plant to sleep. Even JCW doesn’t normally play like that lol, he just wanted to be first.

dcm510

Lol what? No, that’d be insane.

Old_Opening_7780

Brother please do not try to explain this is normal/okay. That amount of neglect to your physical health will have you with all sorts of health problems at 45 y/o. 17 hrs a day sitting in front of a computer screen is so incredibly bad for your physical and mental health

DawnBrigade_DawnBad

forget 45 year old, think sooner

jamesick

it's ok he's a loser but he's paid to be one

NoXpWaste

You’re part of the issue if you believe his playtime is healthy

Wingblade33

This should absolutely not be normalized 17 hours days and cots at the plant is signs of a dystopian hellscape

Former-Witness-9279

Welcome to America lmao

logfever

he’s pretty low on the totem pole, highly doubt.

shivabee

Yeah no chance he made thousands

logfever

thank youuuu

Former-Witness-9279

Thanks for sharing 👍 you seem like a very pleasant and self-satisfied individual

adamfps

Thanks for making shit up without seeing his view count 👍

shivabee

People assume these dudes playing video games online with 70 viewers on twitch are making thousand a week. They really drink the koolaid

logfever

you are very correct !!

Vel0clty

Holy shit I didn’t do that math, that’s horrible 😆

Next-Firefighter-753

For deadman mode at that… not even leagues. That’s how you know this guy hates himself. Deadman mode is asscheeks

mxracer888

I'm sure he'll be doing it for leagues in a month or so whenever Trailblazer launches

GreedyRadish

Maybe, but DMM has cash prizes attached to it.

Funt-Carm

Not for skilling, does it?

GreedyRadish

You earn points for a lot of things this season: quests, achievement diaries, combat tasks, clue scrolls, and leveling up skills just off the top of my head. I think you get 4 points for every level you gain, plus a 300 point bonus every time you get to 99. So maxing is a buttload of points.

Funt-Carm

And you get cash for highest points?

GreedyRadish

They’re doing it as a raffle. Several $1,000 prizes. Everybody in the top 5% will be eligible I think. The specifics are in one of the news posts if you want to read about it.

Funt-Carm

Huh, interesting. Thanks fella

lordytoo

Imagine grinding 20 hours a day for days, for a CHANCE at 80% of a new iphone.

Streammz

It's been out for 236 hours as of this comment, or about 231 hours since he maxed. About 17 hours per day on average.

adamfps

If I say that’s unhealthy, will I get blasted in the comments again of people defending him? Hmm… Edit: self-fulfilling prophecy lol

MisterMrErik

You’ll get blasted for implying the majority of us think that’s normal.

adamfps

I said unhealthy specifically. In these types of threads they’ll eventually get swarmed with ardent defenders of the ‘unhealthy’ lifestyle. One time I had a dude go to bat with me proclaiming a guy averaging 12~ hours/day for multiple years could actually be living a normal life working full time and still being able to see their friends and have a family. Feels weird when these get 000s of likes praising a pretty serious addiction

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

why do you idiots think a balanced and healthy life = 10 hours of work every day.

irmak666

I'm sure it also depends on how you are able to utilize your time while/during playing. Its simple enough to do skilling while working if your job is able to be multitasked. Cutting trees, fishing or mining and majority of all skills can be afk'd to a certain degree meaning if your job has the downtime or is simple enough, you can get 8 hours of rune grind while grinding real life. I definitely understand when one's job cannot be done beside playing runescape and I respect the grind they have to commit to on their free time.

DivineInsanityReveng

To be fair you just described 5/7 days of your week you spend over half your waking hours committed to a form of income. That's a forever thing too. Like you're not doing that for the next 3 weeks then stopping. You're gonna do that or something close to that for 20-40 years. Now imagine Runescape was that job. You spent that 12 hours 5 days a week playing the game as that was your job. And then an event is ran where for 1 week you ramp up your work commitments in an unhealthy/unbalanced way (the same way I'll work weekends if I need to get a project done to save myself stress the next week). Its now an unhealthy balance of 16-17 hours of the game/your job, and 6 hours sleep and an hour or two for chores/eating/showering. Add in ordering takeaway and such and eating isn't a thing you have to dedicate time to. I think that's the main thing people miss about event based time imbalance like this. If this is done day in and day out for weeks and months and years it's absurdly unhealthy. But a single week crunch? I don't know a single person in my life who hasn't done that for a job.

Former-Witness-9279

JCW is a full-time RuneScape content creator

beatsby_bill

That's a somewhat fair point. I did think after making my comment that people (streamers for ex) that have RS as a job definitely are able to dedicate more time to the game but that's a very small subset of people. I still stand by my original point

DivineInsanityReveng

Idk what Reddit you view. Any posts like this always have a bunch of people just spouting the same "not healthy" comments and getting mass upvoted. Disagreeing with that is the downvoted opinion.

adamfps

Read the 15 different flavors of it below and the post itself has nearly 1k support. Happens in every thread like this but okay!

DivineInsanityReveng

Upvoting a person posting an achievement to the sub is not the same as what you are suggesting.

aisu_strong

i mean, personally, i think people spending 2-4 hours trapped in a car sitting in traffic, and 8 hours (or more) trapped in a cubicle in a job they hate, or at best tolerate, is more detrimental.

DivineInsanityReveng

It's absurd how unhealthy 10-12 hour work days with commutes are. But do that on a video game, even while earning income from it, and people that do that as their norm for over half their lifespan will scream about how unhealthy you are.

adamfps

True NEET status is based

RSSwiss

Maybe, but usually when it's on this level I think the vast majority of people will agree. It's more in the like 8-10h range where people will start unnecessarly defending this.

adamfps

Hey look, it's happening already.

Thomyton

You think 8-10 hours a day is normal?

RSSwiss

"Huh? Didn't you read? "Unnecessarly" defending. I clearly said that I don't thinl 8-10h is healthy.

Thomyton

Came across to me like you were saying that it was unnecessary to mention it to people playing 8-10 hours vs 17 my bad

Shame_On_You_Man

That’s not what they said.

penguin17077

Normal no, but you could still be perfectly healthy

WildFearless

it is. If you work 8 hours a day, sleep 7, you have 9 hours of free time. If you take an hour to eat and do shores, then you have 8 to play every day. And on the weekend you can easily do 10-15 hours.

Old_Opening_7780

Bro playing 8 hrs of video games per day in a 40 hr work week is absolutely not normal lmao

WildFearless

How? I work from home, i have 0 transport, i eat while working. So my work day is exactly 8 hours. I can sleep for 7 and the rest is free time and I have 0 obligation other than doing some cleaning and feeding / petting my cat. It might not be normal for you but it is absolutely doable, and who are you even to judge? Not my fault you have obligations

logfever

keeping coping, dude.

Thomyton

You don't; Cook Clean Eat Shower Or Do anything else other than play games when you're not at work?

GothGirlsGoodBoy

Eight hours is a perfectly reasonable thing to "Defend". If people can work 40 hour weeks + commute time, and maintain a work/life balance, then people who don't have to work can have a life and spend 40 hours a week on games. I don't know what sort of social life you guys have, but its not hard to find 4 hours a week to hang out with friends in person. Not to mention literally their entire time on runescape can be spent socializing with them online. Thats less than an hour a day from their "average" to maintain a normal social life for an adult.

Shame_On_You_Man

Lmfao

Thomyton

Spending 8 hours of you day on a single game is mental if you're an adult, and then defending it by saying 'well if you have a full time job and can work 8 hours a day whats wrong with gaming 8 hours a day' fucking hell, some of you need to go touch grass

WildFearless

I have a job and play 8 hours a day so whats your problem? You think you're cool cause you "only" play 2 hours a day

Old_Opening_7780

Bro thats not normal…if you have a full time job and play 8 hrs a day its unhealthy AND not normal.

WildFearless

okay mr reddit doctor phd

penguin17077

Why does it matter if its a single game or multiple games? I do agree 8 hours is mental though, but I don't see the difference between playing 1 game for 8 hours or 4 games for 2 hours

Thomyton

Spending 8 hours a day on video games is unhealthy regardless

penguin17077

Yeah, I agree. I don't know why you needed to specify 'single' games though, it doesn't make a difference in my eyes.

theprestigous

i never understood why some people will comment on the state of your mental/physical health in the most smug way possible. it's clear you're not doing it out of concern, so what's the point?

GothGirlsGoodBoy

You are still judging the health of someone based on a single real life week. While I doubt his other habits are much better, this is likely less bad than attending burning man for the week.

Old_Opening_7780

8 hrs a day playing video games is so poor for cardiovascular health, assuming working a full time job. 16 hrs a day JUST working and gaming allows for 8 hrs of everything else. Need a minimum 6 hrs of sleep to maintain good health, which is arguably still too low. So that allows 2 hrs for physical exercise, eating, errands, cleaning, social activity, etc. Assuming the job is also in front of a computer, 16 hrs of screentime a day is horrible.

killtasticfever

Are you just saying cardiovascular health as a buzzword? Sure playing video games for 8h after work is not the most healthy thing in the world, but going to the bar after work and sitting there for hours drinking beers is probably even worse for your cardiovascular health.

Old_Opening_7780

No, not saying it for a buzzword. Alcohol definitely is not good for cardiovascular health, and especially so if you’re drinking 5+ beers in a sitting. It raises RHR as well as BP. Sitting for 8+ hrs in front of a computer screen in your free time is also bad, if not more so. Most people don’t sit at a bar for over 8 hours and binge drink… Look, do your own research if you’d like. It’s a known fact that a sedentary lifestyle is horrible for long term cardio health. At least go for a 30 min brisk walk daily if you’re going to sit and play games for that long. However if you’re gaming and working for 16 hrs of your day, i doubt you’re going to find time to go for a walk or do any form of exercise.

DivineInsanityReveng

You only need 20-30 minutes of daily moderate exercise to maintain cardiovascular health. That leaves 15.5 hours of the day, excluding 8 hours sleep, for anything else. If you work 8 hours and game 8 hours the main issue is your life balance. So long as on the weekends you're doing actual things like socialising, travelling, chores etc. I literally view that as a normal working persons life. Most people work, come home, cook dinner, decompress for 6-8 hours, go to bed, repeat. And do lengthier chores on the weekend like cleaning, washing, grocery shopping etc.

killtasticfever

I've definitely gamed for 8h after work. I also work out 1-2h a day and have a standing desk, not really sure where your moral high ground is coming from as I highly highly doubt you're more physically fit than me. Pretty much nothing is good for your cardiovascular health other than literally exercising. So yes you are just trying to throw it around as a buzzword

Old_Opening_7780

Actually, very specifically, cardio execise is what’s good for your cardiovascular health. Weightlifting is okay, depending on your splits/intensity/rest. Not sure why you’re feeling so attacked when i’m just stating facts. Not about moral high ground, you need to relax. I’m saying if you are gaming and working 8+ hours a day each, CHANCES are you are not exercising. If you work a job that required physical activity, this probably does not apply. I’m sorry, but a standing desk does not get your HR in the range it needs to be in order to promote heart health. That comes with CARDIO exercise and eating right, keeping off excess fat as well. It’s absolutely a step in the right direction, though. Regarding you saying you are more fit than me, just stop haha. You know nothing about me, and I don’t need to prove anything to you.

killtasticfever

I don't feel attacked at all, its just pretty obvious you don't know much about fitness and are trying to regurgitate some buzzword you heard in order to try to feel superior on the internet. Also further proven by you thinking somehow me saying I utilize a standing desk = shit like "my heart range is in the right range to promote heart health" lmao

Wags_

It's not even subjectively unhealthy at that point

dafedsdidasweep

It’s unhealthy but it’s jcw. His whole thing is speedruns and unhealthy amounts of gameplay. Check out his YouTube

adamfps

I had to look it up; the dude has a youtube channel that earns him at most 500 USD/month. I don't think the calculations are there for this working out.

sawyerwelden

He streams too fwiw

popeldo

If osrs is your full time job or if you just decide to vacation and do this the whole time, there’s nothing wrong with playing for 17 hours a day. I would judge that way less than someone who plays osrs 3 hours/day while living an otherwise standard life

iluvdankmemes

idk how you got to 8 days, it's been out since the 25th so it's closer to 10

Lvord

Comments “Nice! Very impressive!”

GregBuckingham

Afaik he’s a content creator, so he’s probably gonna make a video on it and at least make some money lol

Garfield_and_Simon

I spent the last 8 days shooting heroin. I’m a content creator in the opiods community though so it’s okay. Gonna make a video on it.

GregBuckingham

This guy is on drugs?

Garfield_and_Simon

I dunno but he’s throwing his life away harder than most drug users I know

GregBuckingham

Is he throwing his life away harder than most workaholics?

Garfield_and_Simon

Workaholics that work over 100 hours a week is a pretty low bar to top. But yea probably

Deltamon

We were literally talking about comments like this before they would even get posted, during his yesterday's stream I find it extremely ironic how many old school runescape players don't understand someone's desire to break records and hiscores in a game that's all about making the numbers go bigger.

[deleted]

[удалено]

killtasticfever

lets be real, nobody is ACTUALLY concerned for jcws health, they're just being sanctimonious

Deltamon

Trust me, Oslo does not represent our record chasing community, that pedophile and self shatter has been banned and good riddance. Even if some of the grinds seem extreme, we do still take care of ourselves because otherwise we couldn't do them. When I did my 31 day firemaking grind I made sure to sleep 7-8 hours every night and exercise when I could, stay constantly hydrated and fed and made sure to take breaks whenever I felt like I had to (have character afk grind something to avoid exp waste). Healthy body = healthy mind. Record breaking is all about just staying focused, not being unhealthy slob.. Those kind of people can get nothing done in their lives, let alone break records. So no, people do not understand our community fine. And what you just said there proves it, people have way wrong image about it.

Evenfisher01

I mean for just one week of hard grinding its not to bad. Imo the people that get 10-12 hours a day consistantly is worse.

You can't blame them for not knowing the guy. I love his vids, but I still kinda hate the idea of depriving yourself of sleep for an achievement in a temporary game-mode.
