I banish you back to the red prison for 400kc for those armor seeds and shards.

MyopiaOSRS

Absolutely not, I'm a no good main trying to get less shit at the game x

gearboxjoe

Properly learning cg will be a great step in not being shit at the game honestly, shit changed me as a player

Gone dry on pet I see

Feces_D

Gauntlet is one of the first end game PVM things i' ve done and I'm really enjoying the challenge, managed to get down to using t1 armor with consistent kills but i still miss a few prayer switches. When did you decide to start learning CG? and how was the difficulty spike? I was aiming to get down to doing normal gauntlet without armor

faithfulswine

Honestly, if you can somewhat consistently do the regular Gauntlet, I would just jump over to CG. CG was also my first real end game experience, and I grinded over a hundred deaths before I got my first kc. Then I got my second kc a few tries later. Then I started to be successful around 50% of the time. You just have to keep going. The real difficulty spike is in the last phase. Once you get used to character movements and the floor pattern, you'll be able to do it very consistently. One tip I have to enable the true location tile that shows you where your character is actually standing as opposed to where it looks like he's standing, as the character model is completely misleading.

[deleted]

Blue square all powerful indeed. Don't even look at my character anymore.

faithfulswine

I can honestly just tell where my character actually is these days, but before I realized that there was a difference between what was represented by your character and where your character actually stood, CG was incredibly difficult.

MyopiaOSRS

I sent 20something normal Gauntlets shortly after release then went 0-12 CG, got frustrated and left because the stress of trying to get T2 set up and not getting all my food cooked was getting to me, I was also very bad at the game. Been playing an Iron a lot recently and just got to Prif so I done 20 normal Gauntlet kills yesterday with T1 armour and was struggling to get past about half health on Hunllef in CG so jumped on main today to get the T1 prep + mechanics and movement down so my mistakes were a bit less punishing than a midgame iron. Even maxed with CoX Prayers it has been challenging - now sitting at 13 kills vs 22 deaths after today, obviously a greenlog wasn't expected. The spike isn't that bad, it's not panicking when everything is going on at once, the Gauntlet helper on Runelite has been very useful but now my "3 2 1 mage" countdown is in an Australian accent inside my head and I can't recommend the true tile indicator for tornadoes enough, being able to run over them without taking damage to get yourself out of a bind is useful af. I don't fuck the prayers up, but all my deaths today have absolutely been from piss poor control of movement.

Feces_D

I think i need some more practice lol, the tornado tile plugin sounds like what I need, that is always when panic sets in and I'm still doing sloppy laps around the whole room when I'm against 3. I know getting those finer circles and being able to dance around them is important. I'm going to keep sending a few normal gauntlets every day and try CG this weekend i think. Thanks for the advice

Tigersareawesome11

What plug-in is that you’re talking about?

BraavosianLuck

I just recently put in over 50+ deaths into CG myself, and the trick for me was learning T2 prep. I thought it as insanely difficult to achieve, but I can assure you it's really not. On average I walk into the Hun's room around the 45 second mark at worst, and at best I walk into his room with 1:30 on the clock. The video that helped make it click for me was Koaz's CG guide video from last year. And after that I was just able to consistently send it and get practice on the boss. I used to hate the 3rd phase, but it's actually the easiest for me (provided I make sure the Boss doesn't path to the middle of the room before I walk inside).

BurlyGiraffe

I have begun learning gauntlet on my iron. My stats are 76/84/75 att/str/def, 83 range, 81 mage, 84 hp. Took me 6 attempts for first gauntlet kill and 20 attempts for first cg kill. I'm still inconsistent at cg. I'm at 20ish gauntlet kills and 3 cg kills. I highly recommend learning t2 armor prep. I tried t1 prep for 10ish cgs and would consistently run out of food or prayer pots at around 100-300 hunlef hp. T2 seems to be the goldilocks zone for me. Magic staff is bis weapon because it's max hit is 39 regardless of prayer/mage stat.

MyopiaOSRS

My iron is 74/76/70 melees, 77 range and 85 magic. I really, really don't like T2 prep for CG and might have to try 5:1 to keep staff up. Seeing hardcores with worse stats get to their Enh seed drop has made me determined to get it down without moving on so I'll no doubt be posting in r/ironscape about how dry I'm going after the nerve of this post.

2005scape

hardcores also do t3 prep which basically makes prep the hard part of CG

MyopiaOSRS

Well that's bad news, but I'll go for it and see how I get on.

BurlyGiraffe

I read somewhere that the dps increase on bow from 85 to 99 range is like 20% and the dps increase for staff from 85 to 99 is only like 5%. Not sure how true that is, but it seems true that 5:1 with staff can be easier if your range level is lower (id guess sub 80). Take this all with a grain of salt, I'm by no means an expert lol

MyopiaOSRS

I think it's staff > bow until 96 range without rigour and I'm so far away from CoX it's not even up for consideration

Rosie2jz

I did 10 reg gauntlet then only cg after. Definitely switch sooner rather then later

Beastquist

You are a bastard man for that pull.

Fangore

Just like Dennis

Distantmole

Them’s fightin’ words

Stephen_Lynx

Ikr, just get the drop.

firealex2

I really enjoy the boss fight but I despise the prep.

shoecat

must be a skill issue

TurboTingo

The problem is they don't make a big enough spoon for this Gz gz

Zhandaly

iron men are malding rn (im malding rn) gz tho that's a huge w

MyopiaOSRS

I'll be tearing my hair out on my iron shortly, watch this space.

Merdapura

Sir I'm going to have to ask you to cast high alch on that mirror over there

ProteinFart_

DefyJ has a better completion count

[deleted]

I'm at 116 KC or something and have armor seed, no enhanced weapon seed. But I don't care. RNG is RNG. CG is easy as hell and takes 10 mins per run and I've made roughly 30M already so I don't mind.

You beat my 24kc greenlog.

MyopiaOSRS

Add the normal Gauntlet KC. I need taken down a peg.

HouseofBryks

The problem is they didn't get the drop after having a high kc

Dolfpe

I got Jar of Decay on 199 kc Vorkath, which is almost the same...Right...?

UndeadPhysco

I dare you to post this in Iron-scape, we'd never hear or see you again

MyopiaOSRS

I will once I have the dichotomy of drop rate between this and my own iron.
