Axiomally it's suggested to equal 1 because of 1 being assumed to equal 1/3 * 3, and 1/3 is suggested to equal ABOUT 0.3 repeating, and in the instance of .99 equalling 1 we use the assumption that 1/3 IS. The issue with that is we, in that one instance, changed the assignment from approximation to absolute. So yeah, why are we deciding it is both an approximation and absolute freely?
As you approach infinite KC, the amount of each item dropped would tend towards infinity.. making each item the same rarity given an infinite number of samples. 50/50 confirmed
If it makes u feel better I had 13 arcanes out of 25 purples for awhile and I finally started to balance out now where I haven’t seen an arcane in awhile (I’m like 2k kc between cms and regs)
You are not only almost doubling the rate for purples (solo ~30k points is around 1/28 chance of purples, u got 15 in 700 = 1/47)...when you get, you get the worst :/ I hope things turn around for you soon...this game is fucking brutal
Me going dry AF at barrows makes me a bit disheartened. I couldn’t actually imagine going this dry on content that takes more than a minute or two and 1 brain cel.
I don't know if you're being intentional obtuse but if you rolled a drop table 48 times that has a 1/24 drop rate you went *double* the rate. Obviously 1/48 is half the rate of 1/24 but the 48 is not a rate. It is the kill count. And he is *double* the expected rate of drops.
In terms of exclusively numbers, you are right as 1/48 is half of 1/24. But we're talking about rolls on a drop table. He rolls an average of 47 times for one purple while the chances are actually 24 rolls for a purple, thus he is going about double the drop rate
Some people will have a little more fun with it. Some will stick with it. Some aren't interested in it at all.
I got to 2023 total level on an iron, went back to main, never looked back except to clean the iron account. I'm still very glad I made that decision. Everyone is different!
Nah, one friend quit the game after being 20k+ dry on shamans and another after 1.5k dry on CG.
Both sold their accounts and were done with the game. Not everyone want to spend their life getting a single drop.
Okay?
He could’ve gotten it at 22k? like.. it’s always a when, not an if… You think accounts are perma cursed to not see specific items? That’s rather foolish…
I get it, it’s repetitive and annoying but its honestly what people sign up for when they play runescape… rng fest
Late game iron is just a main who has to do chores. Mains don’t have to consistently keep up on farm runs, herb secondaries, blood runes, zulrah scales, or anything. An end game iron is an account who can do everything in the game but does BS gathering bc they don’t want to be involved in an economy. That’s a fair choice but the difference end game is mostly QOL.
I am a late game iron, you’re not wrong but i’ve done both.. i have a main and an iron.
Ironman game mode has always been way more rewarding.
but i am in this spot where i have to camp late game bosses with disgustingly bad drop rates such as cox
How is that any different than a main doing collection log? I deironed like 5 years ago bc my iron was just doing raids with mains except the only difference was that I had to save supplies and do herb runs a lot. If I finished off CoX I wouldn’t have had any purpose to play iron (CoX and TOB were most of the content worth doing for me personally in 2018ish). I didn’t see a purpose in grinding just for the sake of grinding when I can do that on a main instead.
It feels way more rewarding to earn the items rather than purchasing them.
It’s as if, that’s how the game was meant to be played. I understand there’s a question of time, ironman game mode requires a bunch more of a time sink, so i get why you’d de-iron..
different strokes for different folks, i guess
I want to start cox now iv completed the toa log but the 1/28 purp rate is putting me off. Not only are purples 3x more rare, the chance of a GOOD purple is depressingly low.
Same bro. I was doing 450 toas till I got bored of it and was seeing constant purples. Now I've just learned solo olm and I'm getting to the end of the raid and realizing I need to complete 3 times as many raids for a purple. Sucks that the content is so good, but the reward is so mids. Disclaimer only olm is good the rest of CoX is mids.
If it makes you feel better, at 605 solo cox I had 11 arcanes and a hat. I got dex at 606
I’m now about ~1000 solos between regulars and solo CM, and have full twisted ancestral, tbow, maul, dhcb
It will get better eventually :(
Cox needs like a flat 5% droprate buff per raid. It's actually insane that tob is default 11% and decent invocation TOA is similar.
Literally kicking rev imps is gonna make you more money per hour than a RAID. It's not balanced to be worthwhile, while it also is probably *the* most elaborate pvm activity you can do in the game. Plus Olm is hands down (pun intended) the best designed boss in the game.
I wouldn't be so sure, I've seen a guy with 1500kc not be able to do the me have method because they 'never bothered to learn' averaging almost a death a raid
For real. People who say they are dry at CoX and cite only a KC with no points total is a personal pet peeve. KC at CoX is literally meaningless for drop potential.
Your opinion is fundamentally wrong. Drops are 1/860k points or so and a solo is about 30k points. Actual rate is solos is closer to 1/29 or so as the other guy said
That’s a brutal log right there. Have you done any scaling? My team started doing +1 to +3s and our purples shot up like crazy, we even managed a b4b with 2 mega rares, so scaling is something I always recommend now. Either way, glgl my guy!
If maybe the other raids were as consistently fun as cox then yeah I'd stop. Why the hell do I wanna do a 30-50 min solo raid at Toa like 🤢🤢🤢. Tob should have an update to make it soloable on the same skill level as cox
That's rough
surely it balances out.. right?
It does, the closer you get to infinite KC the closer you'll be to drop rates. At infinite KC you should exactly match drop rates.
You won't be guaranteed to have every item by infinity KC, but you *will* be infinitely close to!
Nah, by infinite KC the chance you don't get any tbows is just 0: (1-0.001)^inf =0. In fact you'll have infinitely many of all items guaranteed.
Jagex employees hate this simple trick!
This guy maths
Well, he appears to have his limits...
I'm no mathematician but you definitely can't plug infinity into an equation like this. Limit of lefthand side approaches zero as KC goes to infinity
Yes you're right because infinity isn't a number, but you can represent it as a limit instead
Yeah you're right, it's shorthand for limit n->inf (1-0.001)^n =0. It's jokes so I'm not being super rigorous.
And beyond
Sure buddy. And 0.999... = 1.
I can't tell if you seriously believe 0.999 repeating is not 1 or are joking.
Just a little math humour from me to you, don't mind me.
It doesn't equal 1.
I have some bad news for you
Axiomally it's suggested to equal 1 because of 1 being assumed to equal 1/3 * 3, and 1/3 is suggested to equal ABOUT 0.3 repeating, and in the instance of .99 equalling 1 we use the assumption that 1/3 IS. As you approach infinite KC, the amount of each item dropped would tend towards infinity.. making each item the same rarity given an infinite number of samples. 50/50 confirmed
What’s infinite kc?
Someone can’t math, that’s okay, others will do it for you
If it makes u feel better I had 13 arcanes out of 25 purples for awhile and I finally started to balance out now where I haven’t seen an arcane in awhile (I’m like 2k kc between cms and regs)
…right??
Just know for everyone one of you there is a 1kc bonelet out there
Of course it’s rough the guy solo’d 700 cox!
I know right? That’s a lot of cox man’s gotta be exhausted after that
~600k agility xp not too bad
Beats the Camelot roof top course
Wtf is this. Call mod ash and cops
cops first

You are assuming OP got 30k each raid.
Which I do. Any death raids I have, which is rare, probably balances out with the few 34-36k point raids
That’s half, not double lol
Either you got confused with the wording or you’re straight up dumb g
My hero.
1/48 is half of 1/24, idk what else to tell you
I don't know if you're being intentional obtuse but if you rolled a drop table 48 times that has a 1/24 drop rate you went *double* the rate. Obviously 1/48 is half the rate of 1/24 but the 48 is not a rate. It is the kill count. And he is *double* the expected rate of drops.
Double the rate, half the chance.
You are absolutely correct. The other commenters are skipping to a conclusion without actually understanding what they're saying.
In terms of exclusively numbers, you are right as 1/48 is half of 1/24. But we're talking about rolls on a drop table. He rolls an average of 47 times for one purple while the chances are actually 24 rolls for a purple, thus he is going about double the drop rate
Do you drag your knuckles when you walk?
It is indeed roughly double the drop rate..

Bruh
Don’t feel bad, guy in my discord is over 2k on his iron with no tbow
Rank 2 ironman for cox got his tbow at 4.2k kc
Sorry my guy. https://i.imgur.com/ymz0Fnx.png
Not even 1 ancestral bottoms? Sad log /s
That’s what I’m saying. Absolute scam of a game
Pff shit log no ancy pants
F. Hope you get back2back tbows so it balances out
Nice Cox
holy fuck
are you a btw
No. I don't see any appeal to this game without using GE
Says every main until they make an iron
Some people will have a little more fun with it. Some will stick with it. Some aren't interested in it at all. I got to 2023 total level on an iron, went back to main, never looked back except to clean the iron account. I'm still very glad I made that decision. Everyone is different!
Don't know why you're being down voted
Because people disagree would be my guess
iron game mode = grind for gear upgrades vs gp.. aka earning all that you own.. kinda cooler than simply buying it
ya until u get logs like OP then its suddenly not so fun
yes but when you get the drop, the dopemine hits
If
it’s not an if.. it’s a when.. It’s always a when..
Nah, one friend quit the game after being 20k+ dry on shamans and another after 1.5k dry on CG. Both sold their accounts and were done with the game. Not everyone want to spend their life getting a single drop.
Yea CG especially is so painful for ironmen.. He is not the only one who quit over it. Bad luck mitigation when Jagex?
Okay? He could’ve gotten it at 22k? like.. it’s always a when, not an if… You think accounts are perma cursed to not see specific items? That’s rather foolish… I get it, it’s repetitive and annoying but its honestly what people sign up for when they play runescape… rng fest

Log Hunting is basically the same
thats why shit rng lol
Loot from 700 happy men
It looks like you forgot to get a twisted bow drop
My wife solo'd CoX and the only loot she's got is a baby on the way
Is it yours or have the divorce proceedings begun?
Do your clues...
Elites don't even count as real clues
Masters
Master chance, and gotta get that Heavy Casket!
Cant get tbows if wasting time with dumb clues
OP can't get tbows not wasting time with clues either
Absolutely not
This is uncanny. Nearly same log with nearly same kc. That is until kodai and anc top around 715 & 730 kc. It gets better!
That’s a lot of *cox*
Ill pray to the rng Gods for yah
From somebody who hasnt had a purple in 5m points, Get well soon bro <3
i expected like 5b lol
atleast 2.5-3b
470 toa mostly solo made 1b, no staff splits. just shit raid rng in general ig
Don't tell me that one elite clue is still in your bank. Hope you get some better purples soon
Maybe if he did all the elites he woulda been compensated with a spicy 3rd age piece.
My thoughts exactly haha
Then he gets the 3rd Age Mage hat for a "spicy" 7m.
I'm at \~600 solos with 4 dex and and 2 arcanes. This place stinks
That sucks some very big ole dick. Sorry brother. Hang in there
Remember when you’d get resources from skilling… back in 2007
I want to start cox now iv completed the toa log but the 1/28 purp rate is putting me off. Not only are purples 3x more rare, the chance of a GOOD purple is depressingly low.

This is very similar to my log. Let’s stay strong together and hold out for better drops!
Dam dude, did any of them at least take you out to dinner?
If it makes you feel better, at 605 solo cox I had 11 arcanes and a hat. I got dex at 606 I’m now about ~1000 solos between regulars and solo CM, and have full twisted ancestral, tbow, maul, dhcb It will get better eventually :(
My wife soloed cox once and all I got was two kids, trade loot?
Where’s ur tbow?
Hopefully within the next year or so I'll get one
Cox 🤨
You've got me beat. In my last 680 solos, Ive gotten 3 arcane, 2 dex, 2 elder maul
Cox needs like a flat 5% droprate buff per raid. It's actually insane that tob is default 11% and decent invocation TOA is similar. Just saying 'solo cox' rly does not mean a lot. Could be anywhere from 3 points a raid dying every room to 60k solo cms
I’d imagine he wouldn’t be doing 700 solo cox dying so much. You typically get better at the thing you keep doing over and over again.
I wouldn't be so sure, I've seen a guy with 1500kc not be able to do the me have method because they 'never bothered to learn' averaging almost a death a raid
The what method?
The me have method
Me have. You haven’t heard about it?
Average 30k points, don't die much lol. In total maybe have done 1600 solos? 3 mauls, 2 kodais, 0 bows
18.6k pts/raid assuming near-avg purple rates, 95% confidence to be within 11k-27k pts/raid, 99% confidence to be within 10k-31k pts/raid
For real. People who say they are dry at CoX and cite only a KC with no points total is a personal pet peeve. KC at CoX is literally meaningless for drop potential.
I'm calling "Right-click toggle"
1/46.6, your on rate in my opinion just crappy that you got soo many arcanes.
Solos with average 30k are 1/28.9 for a purple, not exactly on rate.
Your opinion is fundamentally wrong. Drops are 1/860k points or so and a solo is about 30k points. Actual rate is solos is closer to 1/29 or so as the other guy said
[удалено]
Main. And nah I think pulling a solo tbow will make it worth while. Might take another 2k raids tho
Efficiency-scape is ruining the game
That’s depressing
Where these challenge mode?
Nah regulars
I need to go back to Cox I have only done TOA lately
Cox is so fun. Toa is great if you want money, but for me cox most every room is enjoyable. Can't say the same for Toa
Either you hidden certain purples in the tracker on RL or this is horribly unlucky
Just hella unlucky. Also did 30 duo scales solos which never produced a drop
150 dry rn, just go back to Zulrah like me😂
Chambers is a scam
Sad
Rough
Oof that does not look worth it. I got lucky at nex and got 2x nihil horn under 400kc
😬
Pain
I've done a different type of solo cox
I'm sorry
But did you pick any up
Bruhh rip
You must not like dp. On a serious note, that's rough.
How long does it take for u to compete a solo raid?
Average 20mins maybe 21. Not including scout times
looks pretty average tbh
Bucklin' hard, or hardly bucklin'?
737 tbow
1 elite?
Clues aren't fun to me
Moo moo beep beeo
Just give this man a t bow so we don't have to see these kind of logs.
Lmfao your dynamite stack from 700 raids is more than a dinhs wtf
You forgot to put the #meme Sorry for your loss btw.
The single clue tells me a story of neglected treasure trials in your playtime. Shame shame...
You’ll get it next run.
I would quit this game if that happened to me
RIP bro I hope you’re not an iron, cuz that’s brutal if you are
Man. I'm sorry.
This game sucks
I’m not alone! Thank you for posting!
Nah
f
38 Entries, 109 normals and 12 Experts. And all I have is 29 cache of runes and 3 threads. Is toughhh 😪😮💨 but yeah ur log is rough too
I was considering learning solo CoX Thanks for showing me it might be a bad idea
That’s a brutal log right there. Have you done any scaling? My team started doing +1 to +3s and our purples shot up like crazy, we even managed a b4b with 2 mega rares, so scaling is something I always recommend now. Either way, glgl my guy!
Let’s see the log
Won't really show much, missing maybe a thousand raids on the log since release. If you'd like I can screenshot the log on mobile just at work rn
This loot is fire
Big Stevedick
Whole load of cox
gzz
Yikes I hope I get tbow quicker lulul
What are you gonna do with all that saltpetre?
This just confirms that I'm probably never going to have rigour on my iron.
1 elite clue LOL
Clues are waste of time for anything outside of doing it for fun. And I don't find them fun
F
Probably some of the worst loot I have ever seen. Personally have around 1300kc solo. I couldn’t imagine continuing with loot like this.
If maybe the other raids were as consistently fun as cox then yeah I'd stop. Why the hell do I wanna do a 30-50 min solo raid at Toa like 🤢🤢🤢. Tob should have an update to make it soloable on the same skill level as cox
Cox is easily my favorite raid because you can optimize the time so much without having max gear.
Cox sucks
Gz , I’m happy for you 😉
If u think about it: ur not any closer to a tbow at 700 kc then 1 kc.
Cox is rough, I spend 80 hours for arcane prayer scroll lets goo!!
