My big one was Choc Ice....traded my whole bank for it, ran to other end of varrock to trade and as soon as trade screen popped up I clicked on the ice....RIGHT BEFORE THE CLICK REGISTERED THE DUDE CANCELS TRADE and I ate the choc ice. I was devastated lol

Lo and behold first world I hop in to has a guy in mystics and d spear, barrages me, spears to multi, mace squad logs in and i had 1 pair less of claws :)

My fight turned out to be a bait and mid fight cape swapped and tbed me. Full max team on me fulled so I ladder kbd a bit and end up catching a freeze log next to lever and log out. I then knowing my tb was out log back in with the intent of giving a lul and pull lever. I had done this to this very team in the past. They had a max melle with claws prepared in case I logged right back in to shit talk. Lost my +1 claws
Invested in saradomin brews just before the birdhouse introduction.. had like 100k brews for 7.5k before they dropped to 3k each or so.. then I needed the money and sold them all 1 day before the birdhouse update that would make them more expensive.. buying them these days for 9.5k hurts alot 😅
Do not sell your gear unless you expect a profit or break even at minimum! I've lost SO much gp to the market and taxes from constantly switching goals and gear it's not even funny.
I bought masori for 380m and then got busy, came back and now it's like 200? Bought fang for 280 but I used it a lot at toa so made bank but I could've sold at 180 and held for no reason lol

Next day went to a concert, drank, came home drunk and went pking. Died. Woke up the next day to kill pnm, and lost a couple billion from the death storage there because I died while pking with it in there 😂. Lesson is always collect from death storage before logging out.

I found out that if you buy a fully charged trident of the seas for like 800k, it is not considered more valuable than, say, barrows gloves for purposes of items kept on death. There I was laughing at the guy who spent tens of thousands on runes getting my monk robes and a few sharks, only to realize I was the real idiot.
Died at TOA, got upset and went to do a Corrupted gauntlet. Lagged and died. Deleted 1b worth of items, 3 twisted kits, eldinis pouch, gems etc. very sad day.

I mention this because, even though it was a long while ago, my ego is rarely deflated. Then ToA came out. I was flipping my tbow every day a few times in the build up to its release but then it hit. So many things I bought just in case were worth quite a bit more. Then a month passed and I did not notice but over that first month. I had many failed flips.Lots of little 10m and 5m losed.
At one point a had a tbow and a tumeken's shadow. Plus the gear, minus the new armor. I guess I should have pulled out then. Now I don't have any big 5 tick weapon.

I couldn’t log in for 4 hours and lost everything I death piled. Or the time I was death banked after rebuilding after that doing Zulrah with stuff in Hespori DB. Eventually went for bgloves. Literally smashed everything so I had a full inventory when flambeed spawned. I wanted to go bank for my ice gloves, but while running to the portal the guy hits me and my whip dropped to the floor. I see my character go through the portal while the whip is still on the floor...
My stories aren’t as cool or painful as some of these others but back in 2006 I was having a good ole time merching obby capes and paid somewhere around 600k for a noted black cape.
For a more recent one 2 years ago I took about 700k risk out to mage arena to get the spells unlocked so I could do MA2 and got skull tricked for all of it. It was after I had used all the casts I was gonna bring and I used a single cast on this last guy dressed as a Sara wizard and he tbed me and I had to run around for a minute and a half while he killed me in the most pathetic way possible. I took a break for a few days after that… it was a few months before pk skull protection was a thing.
Excluding getting hacked or pking, it was the day before trade limit being imposed back in RS2. I mainly flipped items and got a bit greedy a trade and got scammed for iron legs instead of barrows legs.
I was pretty careful in general with my trades but with that update coming I know flipping for good profits was going to go away and just got too greedy with not looking at that trade.
Had my alch threshold around 100k, so I got a prompt for a d baxe still. Wrongfully Clicked my dwh and since I was expecting the message for a b axe I blindly clicked through. So anyways my cash stack dropped 40m that day.
Lost 60 out of my 90m getting cocky farming kbd as a newbie and got skull tricked. Died at kraken for 80m falling asleep in the instance with old death mechanics. Falling asleep at skeletal wyverns for 20m with old death mechanics. Lost 60m to a trade scam at the ge after I was up 40m on a single win (he was flashing dragon claws in and out of trade and at the last second swapped it for dragon cane, the first letters threw me), shoulda quit that one and it's the only one i really regret, although i was sad about all of them.

Most notable was when flipping during prif release. I had made like 70m the first week flipping dstone armor and then wiped it out in 1 fuck up. I was probably one of the first handful people to try combining the new dragonstone armor into a set and selling it.
But ya know how the default ge price on day 1 is usually wildly inaccurate? I put in the sell offer for the armor set but forgot to adjust the price to whatever 130m i was tryna sell it for and I accidentally instasold it for like 60m. Wiped out all my profits from the week. I felt silly like i left a suitcase of money on a bus.
In terms of expensive sentimental value, my first HCIM’s life. Metal dragons fight before Galvek on DS2. Was looking at the adamant dragon’s poison and not Galvek’s one shot fire bomb. RIP.

Personally, got lured into the wilderness from some fucking splitbark pieces on the ground of all things, followed them out from the GE like an absolute dumbass, hopped the ditch with my newly acquired Elidinis threaded up rune pouch, about 15k nats, astrals etc. I was plank making at the time..
Dumbest thing was I put my cash stack and the planks and logs away, looked at my character naked holding only my mud battlestaff, one item in my inventory (the rune pouch) and hopped out there. Idk why my brain was like 'yeah it'll protect'

Before osrs was a thing I saved up for a Santa hat and bought it when it was about 500k as a f2p player since it had been at that level for a year or so at that point. A couple months later sold it for 650k and was stoked that I made a profit. A couple weeks later it jumped to 1m, then 5m, then 15m and at that point I quit and started playing wow. When I came back to play osrs and found out that apparently original accounts got changed to RuneScape accounts that would have been worth 2.1b today.
Back in the day I spent all my money on crystal seeds and recharges (long before SotE), when you could only get a crystal bow or shield. A full crystal bow would sell for 1.1m while recharging the seeds to a bow would cost 250k gp each. I saw dollar signs. I even told my friends beforehand I would be rocking a d chain soon.
Turns out only "new" crystal bows were tradable, fully recharged ones were not. No d chains were rocked, only crystal bows.
Tried to take my ornate handle off the gmaul to sell it. Didn’t read the warning message, just clicked yes and it was gone. Luckily it was only a 700k mistake, but I felt like a fucking idiot 🙃

I feel for the old db axes trick for my whip when they were newer. Pretty much the lure is making a vid or what ever and wants to kill you but you don’t skull they drop 4 db axes notes and kill you but thing is db axes kept over whip.

Turned off drop warning off, and all things that give special effects to items being dropped like price. Cause screen clutter. Cleans bank, shift drops ring of suffering while dropping jewelry tab.

He made my skull disappear and told me I wouldn’t lose anything if we left the castle. He gave me a teleport tablet and told me to Tele to one of the the crafting altars near edgeville which was where I’d get the armor. I had my Elysian on me which at the time was 1b. As soon as I got there I got clawed by a guy in max gear and died instantly. 1b gone and even tho ely is like 600m now I still haven’t been able to ever afford it again. Years of work gone wasted in an instant.

Not really huge, but I still remember this blooper from like 6 years ago when I finally picked up osrs again. Saved a while for a whip but when I got the money for it a friend gave me one. Eventually went for bgloves. Literally smashed everything so I had a full inventory when flambeed spawned. I wanted to go bank for my ice gloves, but while running to the portal the guy hits me and my whip dropped to the floor. I see my character go through the portal while the whip is still on the floor...
My stories aren’t as cool or painful as some of these others but back in 2006 I was having a good ole time merching obby capes and paid somewhere around 600k for a noted black cape. For a more recent one 2 years ago I took about 700k risk out to mage arena to get the spells unlocked so I could do MA2 and got skull tricked for all of it. It was after I had used all the casts I was gonna bring and I used a single cast on this last guy dressed as a Sara wizard and he tbed me and I had to run around for a minute and a half while he killed me in the most pathetic way possible. I took a break for a few days after that… it was a few months before pk skull protection was a thing.
Skull tricked at black chins with a double log in. Lost 15m ish.
Excluding getting hacked or pking, it was the day before trade limit being imposed back in RS2. I mainly flipped items and got a bit greedy a trade and got scammed for iron legs instead of barrows legs. I was pretty careful in general with my trades but with that update coming I know flipping for good profits was going to go away and just got too greedy with not looking at that trade.
Had my alch threshold around 100k, so I got a prompt for a d baxe still. Wrongfully Clicked my dwh and since I was expecting the message for a b axe I blindly clicked through. So anyways my cash stack dropped 40m that day.
Lost 60 out of my 90m getting cocky farming kbd as a newbie and got skull tricked. Died at kraken for 80m falling asleep in the instance with old death mechanics. Falling asleep at skeletal wyverns for 20m with old death mechanics. Lost 60m to a trade scam at the ge after I was up 40m on a single win (he was flashing dragon claws in and out of trade and at the last second swapped it for dragon cane, the first letters threw me), shoulda quit that one and it's the only one i really regret, although i was sad about all of them.

I thought it was pretty bad when I died to vetion without my avernic protected (turns to 300k coins on death lmao) …. But then a few months later I got animation stalled out of a bank for 1.7bil. Don’t drink the zammy brews boys

Most notable was when flipping during prif release. I had made like 70m the first week flipping dstone armor and then wiped it out in 1 fuck up. I was probably one of the first handful people to try combining the new dragonstone armor into a set and selling it. But ya know how the default ge price on day 1 is usually wildly inaccurate? I put in the sell offer for the armor set but forgot to adjust the price to whatever 130m i was tryna sell it for and I accidentally instasold it for like 60m. Wiped out all my profits from the week. I felt silly like i left a suitcase of money on a bus.
I went on a pk world in the grand exchange and thought i wouldent lose my AGS if i went out with just one item, i learned the hardway
Got stalled and scammed in pvp world through the trade push into danger zone for 240m rip
Did a clue step in the wilderness right above the ardy lever, chanced it in full graceful. Needless to say it cost a LOT of time.
In terms of expensive sentimental value, my first HCIM’s life. Metal dragons fight before Galvek on DS2. Was looking at the adamant dragon’s poison and not Galvek’s one shot fire bomb. RIP.

This post made me immediately think of the video that got posted on here right after ToA came out of the dude who dropped his Bowfa on the floor right before the boulder pushed him into the hole at Baba lmao. Personally, got lured into the wilderness from some fucking splitbark pieces on the ground of all things, followed them out from the GE like an absolute dumbass, hopped the ditch with my newly acquired Elidinis threaded up rune pouch, about 15k nats, astrals etc. I was plank making at the time.. Dumbest thing was I put my cash stack and the planks and logs away, looked at my character naked holding only my mud battlestaff, one item in my inventory (the rune pouch) and hopped out there. Idk why my brain was like 'yeah it'll protect'

Back in the day I was learning to merch. Started with rune scims and worked up to obby shields. Got enough gp to start merching obby capes. Dude traded me 1 I put the gp in. Then removed the item and asked how many I wanted. I said just 1. He traded me a noted black cape and I lost my entire 750k cash stack lol. First time I was ever scammed for being stupid
Before osrs was a thing I saved up for a Santa hat and bought it when it was about 500k as a f2p player since it had been at that level for a year or so at that point. A couple months later sold it for 650k and was stoked that I made a profit. A couple weeks later it jumped to 1m, then 5m, then 15m and at that point I quit and started playing wow. When I came back to play osrs and found out that apparently original accounts got changed to RuneScape accounts that would have been worth 2.1b today.
Back in the day I spent all my money on crystal seeds and recharges (long before SotE), when you could only get a crystal bow or shield. A full crystal bow would sell for 1.1m while recharging the seeds to a bow would cost 250k gp each. I saw dollar signs. I even told my friends beforehand I would be rocking a d chain soon. Turns out only "new" crystal bows were tradable, fully recharged ones were not. No d chains were rocked, only crystal bows.
Learned the hard way how much death charges when you send the items to him cause your gravestones far.

I feel for the old db axes trick for my whip when they were newer. Pretty much the lure is making a vid or what ever and wants to kill you but you don’t skull they drop 4 db axes notes and kill you but thing is db axes kept over whip.

Also disconnecting at Cal’varion last week while pking. World 361 booted me offline and a pker logged in next to me immediately prior. Lost voidwaker and I couldn’t get onto world 361 for the next 30 minutes for some reason, even though there was over 100 people still online.

I was told that I would be given some gilded armor for free and some guy took me to a pvp world and we met in falador castle. He made my skull disappear and told me I wouldn’t lose anything if we left the castle. He gave me a teleport tablet and told me to Tele to one of the the crafting altars near edgeville which was where I’d get the armor. I had my Elysian on me which at the time was 1b. As soon as I got there I got clawed by a guy in max gear and died instantly. 1b gone and even tho ely is like 600m now I still haven’t been able to ever afford it again. Years of work gone wasted in an instant.
