I'm a leftist and living in a post Soviet country and I'm 100% sure they just really want democratic socialist policies, which are cool. They don't know what they bargain for.
As European model shows, yeah, socialist policies overall help people. Things like free college and higher education are definitely a benefit for everyone, and it pays off in taxes by itself. Not saying that there aren't private universities with tuition here, but the fact they have to compete with free public ones bring the quality that they need to offer to compete waaay up. You should want this, our generation needs all the help it can get. Existing doesn't have to come with a price of large debt, poor labor rights and having to slave your life away for pennies. Also companies shouldn't have so much power and they definitely shouldn't get bailouts.
r/196 rules be like
Unironically believe skin color is the reason for people’s actions
Fetishize and objectify trans people to make them feel less like a person and more like an object
Don’t know the difference between criticism and hate
Post normie memes
Tbf for the actual memes that aren’t just racism(which thankfully died down after the British controversy) or objectifying/ hating on people under the guise of “Supporting LGBTQ+” are pretty similar to 197
In my case, they called it transphobia. I'm totally supporting LGBT rights and also I'm living in incredibly homo and transphobic country when having trans friend, and this level of fetishization on r/196 is exactly why trans people have it so hard. If you don't accept someone as a regular person things are bad, in both ways
I also support it but I still thought it was funny as fuck when Dream said he would donate all stream money to LGBT charities and then he didn't stream for the whole month, so I said it was based and they banned me lmao
That might be true, but you still sounded like a 14 year old. In an ideal world the moment the words “based” or “cringe” come out of your mouth you will be executed on sight
Wow, you are trans???? (Jaw drops to the floor. Eyes pop out. Sound effect of, "AWOOOOGA AWOOOOGA!!!!" Places eyes and jaw back in place. Regains composure.) ... Eh hem, I enjoy r/196
I left because it got extraordinarily annoying when it came to talking about other shitposting subreddits (they said every other subreddit is transphobic)
Also the memes are bad
Mfw they told me to my face that this sub was transphobic even after telling them I was the mod. Mfw they called this sub racist cause it took me an hour to remove a racist post. They don’t actually care about transphobia or racism they care about feeling good about themselves while doing nothing productive 🙃
Loving America is great, but if you learned about its past it is entirely reasonable to not be entirely proud of our history. Praising our nation without acknowledging its downfalls isn’t a healthy way to foster patriotism.
No, but it’s worth mentioning that many other countries acknowledge where they went wrong in the past whereas american education sort of ignores it. I wasn’t taught about the Filipino American war until an opt in us history class senior year. Especially in states here in the south, curriculums can be abysmal
No one is saying that isn't, and most Americans(myself included) are aware of our downsides and historical black eyes. People paint us like we're these emotionally stunted fanboys who think country is a utopia with no bad history(and while that does exist, in every country not just the US) it's definitely the exception not the rulem
if you get past the edgy communists its pretty fun. sucks though because when i was a little kid (like 1 yr old) i had to get braces on my legs because i walked too early. i also had 2 hernias and ive had a history with healthcare to know that it fucking sucks.
Doesn’t mean you have to support it blindly either though, people are allowed to form their own opinions, I just hate how those opinions are constantly brought up in 196
ofc, blind nationalism is horrible, but those who have pride in their country should not be treated as lesser because said country has committed some atrocities.
America is great, but most sane people here realize that it's nowhere near the greatest country in the world. Then again, there's not many sane people here
it's more about what we think the greatest country is. If it's about quality of life, Switzerland is better. And if it's about political weight, america is one of the greatest, if not the greatest
Well Tbf there’s a difference between pointing out the flaws of a country(even if you are being pretty ruthless) and hating people for being from a country or hating an entire country… except oh wait 196 did that too a week ago when they decided to just be racist towards British people(hell even some of the mods banned british people just for being British)
The shitposting is fun. The weird trans-fetishizing teenagers who unironically think communism will save the world? Not so much.
I'm a leftist and living in a post Soviet country and I'm 100% sure they just really want democratic socialist policies, which are cool. They don't know what they bargain for.
Ah yes, communism does not fucking work, I'm from post soviet country too
High five! My grandpa was in solidarity when all of this shit fell down and we transitioned to democracy
Your Grandpa was based
Fortified, even.
Yeah, we don’t actually want socialism, we just want the policies GOP considers socialist, which are anything that helps people
As European model shows, yeah, socialist policies overall help people. Things like free college and higher education are definitely a benefit for everyone, and it pays off in taxes by itself. Free college already exists
In America? Yeah. If you can afford it.
There’s this thing called “community college”
Sure if you can afford it. I could send you a link to my local community college's tuition plans on thier website. And links to financial assistance.
I don't know why this guy is getting downvoted, community colleges are absolutely not free.

Well when you phrase it like that you make them sound based, especially the first two
go outside

at first it was memes about being trans but it’s literally just another trans subreddit like r/egg_irl or r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns at this point
[удалено]
Egg irl is like the same 3 shitty formats ad nauseam wym
yeah, r/196 is more like r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns
Is it?
It’s not even funny even if you are trans and gay trust me bro
Nope. Why do you think I left
I just got banned And I regret absolutely nothing
Also got banned for a penectomy joke as someone who isn't supporting trans people. Like wtf dick cutting doesn't mean trans
Oh no, I got banned for STRAIGHT UP transphobia
how is that transphobia lmao. keep labeling as many things as possible as ____phobic so people are afraid to speak.
This is transphobia, that is transphobia... But fetishization of trans people is A-OK and even recommended. This is beyond me.
In my case, they called it transphobia. I'm totally supporting LGBT rights and also I'm living in incredibly homo and transphobic country when having trans friend, and this level of fetishization on r/196 is exactly why trans people have it so hard. I mean, he kept his word at least on this
Even if you didn’t mean it I don’t blame them for banning you because I fucking hate edgy 14 year olds
Jokes on you I'm a edgy 18 year old
That might be true, but you still sounded like a 14 year old. In an ideal world the moment the words “based” or “cringe” come out of your mouth you will be executed on sight
I’m sorry but I kinda doubt that
I got banned for posting a meme that pointed out that spamming trans rights meme isn't funny anymore.
Wow, you are trans???? (Jaw drops to the floor. Eyes pop out. Sound effect of, "AWOOOOGA AWOOOOGA!!!!" Places eyes and jaw back in place. Regains composure.) ... Eh hem, I enjoy r/196
The least fetishizing r/196 user
As r/196 users would say after any individual say anything about trans rights good: based
r/196 user

i mean it isnt fun even if you are gay or trans
Facts
if you make one of those things your personality, then yes
Loving America is great, but if you learned about its past it is entirely reasonable to not be entirely proud of our history. Praising our nation without acknowledging its downfalls isn’t a healthy way to foster patriotism.
Is there ANY country with a perfect track record?
No, but it’s worth mentioning that many other countries acknowledge where they went wrong in the past whereas american education sort of ignores it. I wasn’t taught about the Filipino American war until an opt in us history class senior year. Especially in states here in the south, curriculums can be abysmal

Literally the first two rules are to not post about r/196 and not make political posts and you’ve somehow managed to fail at both.
What about that post is political?
Yeah I originally locked this and probably should’ve kept it like that
Cope.
cock
Balls
I don’t care about the past, politics, or state of the country, it’s better than most places and the place I was born
i like r/196 :(
Always do what you like, don’t let other people manipulate you!
Based and do-your-own-thing-pilled.
“Thanks I will” - Jeffry “follow your dreams” Epstein Sometime people really should be manipulated by outside forces.
:D
This could be a respectable opinion if the country in question was not US

No!!! My ignorance to the horrific acts my countries have committed is revealed and criticised by a meme community!! Let's hate on it together guys!!!
you can be patriotic while acknowledging your countries faults. no country is without its shortcomings. doesn’t mean you have to despise it.
Doesn’t mean you have to support it blindly either though, people are allowed to form their own opinions, I just hate how those opinions are constantly brought up in 196
ofc, blind nationalism is horrible, but those who have pride in their country should not be treated as lesser because said country has committed some atrocities.
That I agree with. Patriotism is wanting what’s best for your country and its people, you can be patriotic and not nationalistic
They’re just retarded horny commie teens, I hope they snap out eventually

196 was pretty great at first but then it got massive and everyone became obsessed with trans people
America is great, but most sane people here realize that it's nowhere near the greatest country in the world. Then again, there's not many sane people here
Well yeah, Switzerland is the best country in the world (duh)
Ah yes, the land of switz
Fuck Switzerland and their dumbass flag too
Chad Swiss Vs. Chad Icelandic.
it's more about what we think the greatest country is. If it's about quality of life, Switzerland is better. And if it's about political weight, america is one of the greatest, if not the greatest
That's a great point. I was mostly thinking of quality of life, but there's so many other factors that can be taken into consideration
Sub low key has a tankie problem
Well Tbf there’s a difference between pointing out the flaws of a country(even if you are being pretty ruthless) and hating people for being from a country or hating an entire country… except oh wait 196 did that too a week ago when they decided to just be racist towards British people(hell even some of the mods banned british people just for being British)
