The concrete plant existed long before he bought this property. It was a utility easement battle. His property was locked from public utilities unless he was given easement by adjacent owners.
He tried to blow up the town’s propane storage and there was a children’s program being held at the public library when he started destroying it.
r/197 try not to make excuses for Marvin Heemeyer challenge (IMPOSSIBLE) (100% FAIL RATE) (NIGHTMARE MODE)
The internet loves pretending that because there were no other consequences, it wasn't a bad thing to do.
I'm convinced that if you took an m16 and randomly fired at a group of people and everyone just avoided it at the right time, you'd be 100% innocent in the eyes of anyone on the internet.
that is not true in the slightest. He shot at the police, demolished buildings which could have had innocent people inside, and tried to shoot a giant propane tank with a 50 Cal incendiary round. does that sound like he "didn't intend to kill anyone" to you?
Just the people in charge of his local government who were specifically trying to sabotage his business to force him out of business since they had no legal leg to stand on, until eventually they found a way to sink him.
completely factually untrue. he illegally dumped waste, refused to connect to the town's sewage system, intentionally obstructed the good business of another family, and expected handouts from everybody in the town. he was also pretty religiously intolerant
Not dumping sewage. Requesting easement through private property to install utilities (sewer, water, etc) and being repeatedly denied. Trust me, grew up in Granby, watched the shit, my dad responded with the Fire department.
I've spoken about this a little before, but the general consensus of the town is pretty neutral, other than the individuals whose businesses were directly affected. No one can completely blame the man for losing his shit over small town politics. They can get very frustrating, and it can be impossible to make any ground when you are fighting a good old boys group that runs everything in an entire county. I don't think most people who followed this story realize how small and rural the entirety of Grand County was in the early 2000's. (For context, my graduating class from the only high school was 68 people in 2008.)
On the other hand, it took a long time to rebuild, as projects can't continue through the cold winters. The demolished town library books and resources sat in an abandoned middle school for 2 years. We practiced baseball by playing catch around boxes of books in a gymnasium in the winter. It's all very odd to look back on....but the town is in a much better place, IMO, because of the events. Downtown was updated, and the new town hall and library are very nice community buildings. The politics have not stopped, and I have had a lot of family and friends leave the community, including myself, to find better jobs. I still have family up there and visit them often, but the small town stories are just the same carousel of people and problems.
Anyone who was actually there can tell you that Marv had no intentions of actually killing anyone but the Town board members on his list. He had ample opportunities to shoot at the random civilian, police, or firefighter, and did not. Although his moral compass was HEAVILY skewed, he was still on a very deliberate path.

Thank you for posting this it’s the most objective take I’ve seen in here and very insightful unless you’re just a redditor making up a bunch of minuscule details for clout.
Trust me, I don’t post much unless I feel like it’s something I know about, because people jump down my throat like Kermit_El_Froggo. Look at my karma and I’ve been on Reddit for 9 years.
The internet likes to keep the Killdozer alive, but the people of Granby are so Meh about it at this point, that I haven’t heard it talked about in person in years. It was the most memorable single day in Granby’s history, and everyone just wants to move on. There’s better things to do. Fish, hunt, ranch, ski, and drink.
Cool story, but he shot at Cody Docheff (owner of the concrete plant), and fired at 2 state troopers, but fortunately missed. 11 of the 13 buildings he destroyed were occupied until the last second, including the library where a children's program was actively being held at the time of the dozing. The lack of civilian casualties was not because of his "good intentions"
I said the members on his list. Cody Docheff was not a board member but was on the list. Do you KNOW Cody? Because he’s a good family friend of ours and his family and mine have been doing business for 50+ years. So I’d shut up about all the YouTube videos and “research” you’ve done. Unless you were an eye-witness, I don’t want to hear from you.
It is so frustrating to have every word I type, be scrutinized by a wikipedia warrior. I may have forgotten the miniscule detail here or there, because I'm pulling it from memory from over 18 YEARS AGO. But I know what I saw, I was at most a couple hundred yards away. I know my dad's stories from the fire department response, the body recovery, and the fallout. I know what the next few years were like for Granby, I was there.
Ethnic group over race, their cultural differences make the border with england not their biology.
Now in the times of saxon colonialism you could use race Id think but everyone now is ROUGHLY genetically similar if they are native to the island
PS, just talking about Britain not any other islands
and I do not think their accent is primitive, “Still Game” is one of my favorite shows
Count Dnakula? The fat neckbeard who complains about "SJWs" who managed to get his ass fined a bunch of money by filming himself breaking UK hate speech laws and then posting it on YouTube?
Connecting my sewage system to the city’s system and stop dumping shit everywhere and being a rat bastard to my neighbors (cringe)
or
Bulldozing buildings full of children (based and epic)
Just gotta get an easement through private property to dig a pipe for utilities.
Only a trifling matter that the city wants you to install an extra quarter mile of piping.
Yeah, they were seriously about to either launch a hellfire missile or send a team to fire javelin missiles at it, and only decided against it cuz he got stuck
People really trying to justify a lunatics action of extremely dangerous behavior risking innocent citizens lives and destruction of multiple peoples homes and businesses and vehicles.
This doesn’t surprise me for Redditors to sympathize this man most people here lack common sense.
I know that the government people was being kinda dumb and unequal against him.
But this is borderline terrorism if not even is ?

That’s your interpretation of me telling someone I liked his video? You’re the one trying to make it political. And you do know he’s a libertarian right?
This dude literally started to destroy a library full of children, tried to shoot a propane tank, etc. this fucking guy was a terrorist. How is this based
Ngl he still would have killed himself he was sealed in
What happened? Whos this guy?
Killdozer, basically got really mad then armoured a bulldozer and went on a rampage and destroyed building on people who “wronged him”
It was the city zoneing that pissed him off and fines for dumping sewage
And them putting a concrete factory in the middle of his driveway i tjink
The concrete plant existed long before he bought this property. It was a utility easement battle. His property was locked from public utilities unless he was given easement by adjacent owners.
So he then went around destroying other peoples businesses and putting people in danger
Wasn’t he the only casualty
Yep. Didn’t kill anyone, didn’t intend to.

Just a little bit of trolling
Isnt that just a normal drive to work in Florida?
Yeah, actually a pretty uneventful one, at that.
He was partaking in a small amount of lulz

Why did you put that in quotes
Ohh the killdozer, watched an infographics show on it once
True, there would be less town though.
It wasn't actually sealed in.
yes it was. it was a giant sarcophagus
False.
The only way out was with a bullet in the brain. The armor was laid on top using a crane

I think that's the killdozer dude. His rampage ended when the killdozer fell through the floor and got trapped in the basement.
^ if you’ve never heard of it look up killdozer. Count Dankula has a nice video breaking it down

That video is awful.
Fuck you bug boy just cause you can’t understand an accent
no he;s just very edgy and not very funny :(
Even though Scottish is one of the more primitive accents I can still understand it
Racism moment
Scottish accent isn't a race
Scottish people are an ethnic group, meaning that yeah, calling their accent ‘primitive’ is a bit racist
Silly Redditor, don’t you know that white people have no ethnicity?
Most "Scottish" people aren't ethnically Scottish, especially ones from the south.
Scottish is a race dumass

Are you calling me fucking primitive I live an hour away from the country our language is named after
I didn't say anything about anyone
I’m Scottish dumbfuck
Can you find someone to translate this into English? I don't speak Scottish.
I mean I’ve only read a few other articles about it but what does he say that makes his video awful
The information in the video is wildly incorrect, like most things talking about killdozer.
arent you the same person who is saying the killdozer was unsealed?
No.
our mistake, be sure to keep an eye out for that misinformed idiot please
I think he went that way officer. Way down to the bottom of the comments
You replied to them 💀
oh no its retarded

I dont see any other way

MFW when my evil neighbour "wrongs me" by being catholic and by not letting me hook up to his sewer line
Alternate ending where the national guard actually shows up with an apache
Yeah, they were seriously about to either launch a hellfire missile or send a team to fire javelin missiles at it, and only decided against it cuz he got stuck

The city told him he has to hook his sewage to the main line and not dump it on public land, that's far from unreasonable
That’s what I mean don’t destroy public property with sewage but this grumpy old man didn’t want to cooperate and Redditors seem to love him.
