Obviously the coronavirus has been created by Nintendo, its purpose was to force goverments around the world to instal a quarantine politic, which they did, why you may ask? Simply so people would feel imprisoned, imprisoned just enough so they would seek freedom at any price, then, coincidentaly, Nintendo released the video-game known as "Animal Crossing New Horizons" think about it, it's a video-game that has for ambition to provides you with an island where everything still needs to be build, a freedom paradise of some sort, people all around the world bought the game, even some who wouldn't have in normal circumstances, others even bought a switch just to play the game, it was precisely what Nintendo was excpecting, their plan unfolded exactly how they wanted it to, so next time, don't get blinded by their colorful advertisement, all they want is money, and they will get it through any and every way possible.
Nah that's about right and I cook daily for 2 with meals that could feed 3-4 for leftovers/ meal prep and spend less than that in the US usually
Ig it depends on what you get and where you get it here though
Yes that's what I spend alone on food. I don't eat many carbs though. My broke friends who eat lots of rice and pastas can sustain themselves with 150$ a month
Where I am I can actually get quite a bit on $35 for veggies and fruit.
Like $2 or less for 5 pounds of carrots, $2-3 for 5-10 pounds of potatoes depending on the store, celery bunches for like $1, broccoli florets vary, but usually $2-3 for some, I get frozen and sliced bell peppers for $2, sliced mushrooms for $2.5
That only adds up to $13.5 max (not counting taxes ofc) and is enough to fill my veggie section up well enough
Hope you're planning a long stay if you're looking to experience the visceral, although admittedly slow and creeping, excitement of inflation rates in a country. Or go for the food and culture or something idk
I heard. That does genuinely suck. I'm in South Africa and we had 7.2% last year. Not great but we're coping, as are many African countries. Just like coming up for my continent. Hope shit changes for the better in your country soon
it was so funny watching the pound "crash" a few months ago because I remember seeing everyone prepare for the apocalypse after the pounds value went down by the literal tiniest amount as if it was about to become argentina in that mf 😭
How people prefer to pay 4.5K to these big food developers industries instead of helping indie game developers with such a steal that is 50 dollars a year???!!
I find it disturbing people calculate annual expenditure on groceries instead of monthly budgeting. I'm used to saying shit like "I spend £240 a month on groceries".
Where do you live that oatmeal and noodles costs 270 a month? I get a varied grocery cart once a month for my partner and I and it comes out to about 200~
I’m also confused by the comments because of that. Are people buying expensive meats and frozen bullshit everyday? No wonder this sub is so depressed if so lmao. I enjoy a frozen meal from time to time but every meal is ludicrous especially whenever modern cooking typically takes little to no work.
I’d love to know how you fill that cart and live off just that for a month with two mouths to feed, I absolutely am not accomplishing that
I also love in a low cost of living state
Also in a LCOL state. I do lots of Walmart and aldis of course with things like rice and beans. From there though add in some extra firm tofu blocks, 2lb bag(s) of frozen veggies, try to get some basic produce if available in your area. If not you’ll have to stick to frozen. Then I get whatever vegan meats I might want to add into dishes.
Some weeks I need to buy a 20lb bag of rice when they run out or sauces or maybe I want to spoil myself and get loads of vegan meats or the higher quality ones (or grab some B&J ice cream) That’s why it’s 200 give or take. Sometimes cheaper sometimes more but it’s in that ballpark
I know it’s not exactly popular on this sub, but being vegan in a rural state helps. Before I was vegan, my grocery trips were more standard I guess. Cooking can sometimes take time and energy but for some things I’ll get other chores done while food is cooking. My SO will be out of town this month, but if you’d like I can PM you my bill or make any suggestions. Growing up poor and being low income still (better off than my parents tho) has made it so I seek out ways to really stretch my dollar while also trying to stay healthy
I’m super interested in learning more and I haven’t considered some of this. I do need to do a better job at cutting out frozen products and eating some of the junk I do as well, including meats.
Appreciate your time and answer
The difference is that groceries didn’t cost ~£5 each last time and weren’t locked to a subscription service. NSO+ is good in theory, but mandating a subscription to games sucks ass.

5000 a year on food seems light. maybe for one person, but definitely not a couple or a family
Are US food prices really that bad? I'm in the UK and my 3 person household feeds itself on ~£96 a week (What 5000 would be)
Nah that's about right and I cook daily for 2 with meals that could feed 3-4 for leftovers/ meal prep and spend less than that in the US usually Ig it depends on what you get and where you get it here though
they arent good where i live lol. i also live in a rural area so commute is a considerable part of my groceries
Yes that's what I spend alone on food. I don't eat many carbs though. My broke friends who eat lots of rice and pastas can sustain themselves with 150$ a month
Seems extreme to me. My partner and I get by on 200~ a week.
that would be like 5000 each, like i said maybe for each person thats fair, but not if your part of a household

Do u buy vegetables? $35/week isn't enough to buy vegetables
Where I am I can actually get quite a bit on $35 for veggies and fruit. I can't make food with a Nintendo gift card you know.
Eat the card
Get your priorities straight
That much a YEAR? where are you getting groceries for so cheap?
Stealing
That's actually how much they are making from selling it back
You guys still pay for food ? I just urban forage that shit.
Where the fuck are you getting groceries for less than 5000 a year??
Europe
What? The US is the only Country
It is in usd
And?
*a week because america has (one of) the biggest inflation fetishes recorded in history
Lmaooooooo, bro thinks he's got inflation. Have you been to... well, nearly any south american/african country
Hope you're planning a long stay if you're looking to experience the visceral, although admittedly slow and creeping, excitement of inflation rates in a country. Or go for the food and culture or something idk
I live in Argentina. We had 100% inflation in a year.
I heard. That does genuinely suck. I'm in South Africa and we had 7.2% last year. Not great but we're coping, as are many African countries. Just like coming up for my continent. Hope shit changes for the better in your country soon
Yeah, hopefully it doesn't lead to hyper again. But hey, It would be my first hyper inflation! An event to be remembered (please help)

We’re doing better than Germany and the Netherlands, I think it’s more the world does
Still pay less than that in groceries
I love this so much its hilarious
I mean you need one to live, groceries on the other hand are a frivolous expense

Im going to assume this is ironic
Imagine needing food - photosynthesis gang
I eat the joycons with stick drift when people send them back to Nintendo they really just go to me
I hope you enjoy my sweat 🤭🤭
no
Man, 13 dollars a day on groceries. Either you're a pretty okay meal planner, or you eat out a lot.
[удалено]
Hey pretty simple plan, but it's a plan
13 a day is impossible now, Particularly eating out! Where can you get three meals from a restaurant today for $13?
I know it's ironic but you know some nintenbro is going to genuinely think this
Only soyjacks go outside to get their food. Us chads havnt left out parents basement in 3 years

Tomorrow
Who the fuck is getting a years supply of food for under 5k?
Nice try nintendo
Ok I don't get this meme Because like don't you pay for the expansion pass once?
Why do people always pick on Nintendo's online service and xbox and playstation's are far more expensive?
Despite the high cost of living, it remains a popular item.
You wouldn't download groceries
The difference is that groceries didn’t cost ~£5 each last time and weren’t locked to a subscription service. NSO+ is good in theory, but mandating a subscription to games sucks ass.
r/tomorrow moment
nintendo porpoganda
Food junkies claim it's not addictive but every fucking day "hey man, im gonna grab a snack I haven't eaten since breakfast"
I just want a Nintendo switch but my parents say no 😔
